Chaos! utter chaos.

Too many little things are piling up and making me somewhat (more)

Yesterday's kookiness involved my brother calling to tell me that my mom told his wife that she sold her jewelry in a park over the weekend.

Sure, read that again. I'll wait.
*blinks*

He called me as I was driving, left a voicemail, then a text. I called him as soon as I got home-- of course, I am in a panicky state at that point. So when he relayed the info that my Sis-IL told him, it took all my effort not to laugh hysterically at him. I ticked off all of the reasons why I found that to be completely outlandish (I used the word "unlikely" with him), and I know he thought I was blowing it off. My mom is one of the most suspicious people I know. She has been talking about selling some of her old jewelry for *years.* And she knows the value of what she has. Any given day, she has a stack of books from the library on her table about makers' marks, antiques, etc, and so on.
My brother asked me to give her a call and find out what went on and jeez - wouldn't you know, I was right. She went to a Vendor's Market at a hotel's conference center. She scoped everything out the first day, went back the next with a few of her pieces, and went through the process of selling a few of them, while changing her mind about a couple that she isn't ready to give up just yet.
My mom and I had a chuckle over my brother's assumptions. OTOH, she immediately asked how he knew, which isn't going to give my Sis-IL any brownie points for telling him. My mom thinks my Sis-IL butts her nose too much into her business, that ain't gonna help!

Yeah, that was about an hour out of my day straightening that out. :rolleyes1:

I am very excited to be blond again for a couple of reasons. It feels good to cover/hide the grey. I might need the "dumb blond" stereotype for the conference next week. :giggle4:
I recently got access to the Weis staff accounts and when I tried to log in to review some of the presentation info, the password had been changed. Great... :/
It is what it is. I'll just cram as much basic info on moss/lichen/pollution as I can into my head. Hope for the best.

On a happier note, check out my friends:

We had 7 on Monday, 6 on Tuesday, and down to 4 yesterday. The big chonkers step off and I hope we'll see some more monarchs in a week or so.

I have to clean for my friend this morning and then the afternoon is mine! I wrote up my challenge, now I have to scrap it.

HAGD!

HA! Tell Gary.....your parents, your gift.....that may have him going into think mode for YOU to buy something! ;)

WOW! That bear! Did he munch on anything else while on your patio?
I found a cute harvest-y cake plate at TJ, and I'll bake some mini-muffins to put it. I've done this before but at least the muffins can be enjoyed.
Thankfully, there was nothing other than some leftover seeds on the ground, so he wasn't motivated to stick around after I yelled at him.
Hehe, Glad my kitchen cabinet cleaning assessment was encouraging!
My gut is in an uproar!
Oh no!! Did you ever get more of the supplements that helped before? Feel better!
That is so frustrating about the shopping order/substitutions. Gary was sweet to me the other day- ShopRite didn't have the Ball Park burger buns I had requested and they swapped it for Ball Park butter rolls. Well, I can't use them because BP is one of the brands that is vegan, but if you add butter to them, they aren't anymore. Pfft! The whole reason I -- and probably you too- do online shopping is so we don't have to go *in* to shop! :crying1:

/end rant

@Terri M I am going to be a crank and say that at least you got rain. We had a few drops here and there in the afternoon but not even enough to dampen the grass.....
Although the timing for your rain is a PITB, I'm sorry for that.

So I did another challenge. I had planned at the beginning of the month to just do three, but here is is, the seventeenth, and I've already done five. May as well pick up one more!
:cheer:
Yeah. That never worked for me. I guess because I never let the fail actually go through, but swoop in at the last minute if it hasn't been done (and it's never done).
Same, same, same.......

Tested negative for Covid this morning!!! :yesss: No.... I have never had Covid before this bout.
Yay!!!
I thought that you were one of the few who hadn't had it yet. So sorry that you got hit hard. Please don't overdo it... The cleaning can wait.

@AK_Tracy Not being soggy toast at the end of the day-- that is a *win!*

NO! Just HECK NO! Get the blow torch, kill it all. You can rebuild later! NO NO NO!
NO! NO! NO!! Just NO! YUCK snakes. No no no no no Chris!!!
:floorlaugh:
Tell me how you *really* feel. :D

Gotta grab my broom and fly :flyingwitch:

Well @faerywings your snake skin story is scary...did you look in the desk drawers and the underside of the chair, over the door, on the windowsill, in the light fixture, was there an exit for it. Ugh. I hate snakes!! scared of them but I do know they are mostly good to have around. Well here is my snake story. I went into my bedroom one night and there was something going along the edge of the sliding glass door....ugh a baby snake trying to get out. Long story short Jay got it in my butterfly net so out it went. We think it came in through the water drain at the bottom of the slider but since only the screen was there it could slither along and get its way inside....Our new hurricane sliders are different design so no unwanted visitors!!! I'm with @AK_Tracy but forget burning down the house that it a little too extreme. LOL
Wow that was some story about your mom's jewelry. Sorry you lost an hour of your day with that but you got to the bottom of it.Glad things are ok.
Great job with the monarchs...you are a good Monarch Momma taking care of the twins. It's exciting to see them grow isn't it?
Just leave my hair natural...grey/white all the dye damages it too much besides I didn't want to look too much younger than Jay who is only two years older but looks much older. DD has dyed her hair for years because she wanted to look younger because her hubby is 6 years younger with a baby face but she is stopping so I'm happy for her hair!

@Terri M sorry you are not getting rain when you need it but I did have to chuckle at the timing when you were going to work on trails- rain delay.

Yesterday morning I went shopping to get some new jeans for traveling. I wanted comfort. I found some so I am super happy about that. Then I picked up a few groceries got home just in time to put food away and change. I was getting picked up to go to lunch and see Downton Abbey the Grand Finale. We had a wonderful Chinese lunch then off to the movie. OMG it was so good. We have been watching the series together( I saw it twice) and have gone to all the movies. There were only 6 of us this time as some are still at their summer homes but it was still fun. The rest of the afternoon was with hubby then prep a little dinner as he went out with the guys.
Today I have a long list of things I want to do before I leave so I better get too it.

Yes, I did have to read that line about your mom's jewelry again, LOL! Glad the situation was handled, however!
I love that the caterpillars are the same colors as the butterflies! Beautiful! Love the way they are striped!

EXACTLY! If I wanted to go into the store, I would just do the shopping while in there, LOL! Our online store now has everything set up as No Substitutions unless you change it! And we have the option to make a note. Now, whether either of those options are paid attention to is another guess! ;)

I do have more of the gut tincture. I just have to remember to take it faithfully! I guess I really need to just take it all of the time instead of stopping it when I'm feeling better!

Good Morning,
Heading out to visit with Ilene today. We will make our usual round to eat out before settling in to play Qwirkle.
That's about it. I did get my week 4 AJ page done so I can post it when Chris moves the thread next week.
Stomach feels somewhat better today. I'll have to be gentle with the food today.
Need to get ready to go.
Have a great day!

Everyone is talking about cleaning kitchen cabinets and I am looking at a whole new kitchen.
Many discussions about it with hubby so It is time to start planning. Anyone is free to give suggestions. Our house was a flip house so not many cabinets but they did put granite countertops so kudos to them. We added a few cabinets and used an antique we brought from Germany it looks ok but is still lacking. Hubby said he really loves the German cabinet with the white marble top so our designer is incorporating it in the design...I love -love- love what he has planned. We won't do anything till the New Year only because I have to recover from my surgery and Dear Granddaughter is coming for Christmas so need to have a semi-orderly house. We still have different ideas for the color but they will be shaker style--easier to clean than raised panel and need to find a tile we like. The old tile will need to be torn up so big mess!! I need to think about ceiling too maybe tin look and new lights too. I dread the mess but it will be so worth it in the end.

@vickyday I'm glad you are better and can get back to more normal life with your friend. Getting an page done is a weight off your shoulders I bet...I look forward to seeing it.

@AK_Tracy so our Florida fall weather is in the 80's with sun.Our CT fall weather was most days in the low 60s What is your fall weather. Weather has been on my mind as I prep and pack for Germany who has weather more like we had in CT.

Enough for how...going outside to read.

Good Afternoon! This day got away from me fast!!! Its almost time for dinner prep!

Oh man, what a story. But...... why would your mom be surprised SIL told hubs what was said? Couples talk. I know what I say to my daughter will go to SIL too. And vice versa. I know couples talk so why wouldn't your brother know? Hope it doesn't cause too much trouble.

Nope, not extreme at all. I'll help you rebuild. Love the nail gun. Will help you stud in new walls but burn that sucker. NO snakes!

Our fall is WARM this year. We hit 60° today which is way warm. Normal would be closer to low 50's. Our leaves are turning yellow and some are falling off. Its beautiful but warmer than normal.

Well, gotta go make side dishes for the roast chicken hubs is making. Have a great night!
