Good morning!
It looks to be a pretty day today, with a clear blue sky, cool morning, and warmer temps in the afternoon. Exactly how it was 24 years ago. It is crazy that it's been that long. I say it so often, but time is the weirdest thing. "Forever ago" and "just yesterday" are insanely relative terms.

How was your day yesterday? It was quiet here. I mostly spent my day in the kitchen. I made vegan stuffed shells and garlic knots for dinner and that took up much of the day. The recipes weren't difficult, but they took a lot of steps with time in between. Letting the dough rise/soaking the cashews- that kind of stuff. I had to clean for my friend at noon, which chopped the day up as well.
I wasn't sure what to expect from the shells-- I mean-- ricotta made from tofu and cashews??? But there were actually quite good as long as I didn't compare them to my regular recipe, the one that uses lots (and lots!) of mozzarella.
We are down to 4 caterpillars, the big one has left the milkweed. I hope that they have a successful metamorphosis. :cheer:

I don't have any real plans today. I think Scott is coming for dinner tonight, but that's it. I might go for a short hike this morning. I haven't been on a "real" hike since last November. I have been on plenty at work but they aren't --I don't want to say "real hikes" but our trails aren't very challenging. Scratch that- they were very challenging after I got out of the boot, but now that my foot is healed, they aren't so bad at all. :D
I need to get out in the sunshine while I still can enjoy the warmth.

I also have to stay away from the computer and weather forecasts because all of the ones are predicting rain for the three days my mom and I are down the shore. Even though I know that they aren't reliable 2 1/2 weeks out, I can't stop myself from checking them. I tell myself that if they are forecasting rain *now,* then the chances that it *won't* rain are better. :thinking2:

Wishing all of you a peaceful day :loveangel:

It cracked me up so I want to share this page of my small family of bobble heads.
OMG, that page is so cute! It's always entertaining to stumble on a LO from a ways back.
Did you get to read at all yesterday? I hope you did and had time to wind down after the trip to HD. That place is never fun and pricing hurricane-rated windows sounds heart-attackingly expensive.
I am still giggling that you are getting your feet sneaker ready.
Fat-Cats is very appropriate. I have been calling the Chonkers. I'm hoping to get a seed pod to share with my neighbor across the street, since she seemed interested in them. If I don't get any pods here, I'm sure I'll be able to find one at work. I just have to remember and to time it correctly before they open.

Seems like that's what we women do.....clean up other people's messes, LOL!
I need to wash windows but Mark doesn't allow me to climb a ladder! And it is the outside that really needs the work! I may have to climb that ladder anyway!
Truth!!
I only use the step ladders. The extensions ladders, nope, that is on Gary. They are too wobbly, and I am too brittle. Hahah!
I am so sorry that you are still feeling poorly. I hope it passes quickly for you and Mark.
its suppose help the myelin sheath that nerve travel down and he said it might help the CMT and slow progression of the myelin sheath dying off so fast. So I thought, cant hurt. Then I saw it was helpful with POTS and thought double cool.
TY so much for the info!! I am going to Google it and see what brand I can get at Shop Rite or Amazon. I know that I used to be- not sure if I still am- B-12 deficient. It can't hurt to try it.
Oh, poor Nessie! I am glad that the incision isn't bothering her, although I know that you would like her to chill out while she heals. Silly dogs.
Me too, I do NOT like mornings that are dark and cool, my favorite time of year is that short time when it's light out at 5am, I love that! :beatingheart:
It's so dark in the mornings and I know it's all downhill from here. *sobs* I'm not looking forward to the days when 50* feels like a heatwave.

hugs!

Good Morning!

Me too!!! :floorlaugh: 7 1/2 hours in the kitchen.

Not much happening today. Mostly just recovering from over doing it yesterday. We were short dishwashers so I had to work a bit more then normal but it was all good. Everyone was fed and happy. I might scrap today, we shall see. I haven't started my September pages (for me) and might need to download the photos and scrap.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

It looks to be a pretty day today, with a clear blue sky, cool morning, and warmer temps in the afternoon. Exactly how it was 24 years ago.
I read as far as "clear blue sky" and I was right back on the bridge to Staten Island, where I got stuck on 9/11 on my way to work. We had 26 funerals at the church where I was working at the time, and it's always a hard day for me to get through. My mom called me this morning because she said she was reading through my old emails from then. I don't know anyone who reads through quarter-century old emails but there you go.

I also have to stay away from the computer and weather forecasts because all of the ones are predicting rain for the three days my mom and I are down the shore. Even though I know that they aren't reliable 2 1/2 weeks out,
I do this, too, even knowing you can't take it seriously. Especially along the coast in hurricane season. I love the shore in September.

Well, my attempt to get the new covid vaccine continues. I discovered on Tuesday that even though CVS would give the shot with a prescription, my doctor's office refused to write a prescription! What the heck! Makes no sense. So I gave up on Virginia and made an appointment at a CVS just over the state line in Maryland. It's a 2.5 hour drive, but David said he'd go with me and then we'd visit Harpers Ferry for some sightseeing before driving home. Then yesterday evening I learned that CVS started giving covid shots without a prescription. Yay!! So I canceled Maryland and made an appointment for this afternoon here in Charlottesville. Now I have my fingers crossed that it wasn't bad info. Bit the fact that I could make an appointment when the day before I couldn't seems like a good sign.

I still don't understand why I can't get a prescription.

Otherwise -- it's been a lovely week, getting a little warmer today. We could definitely use rain, I think we may have lost on of the hydrangeas we planted last year because we didn't water it. I've been biking, wrapped up some web site work that needed to be done, started practicing my songs for the community chorus, and found the missing container of cassoulet that I knew was in the freezer but couldn't find all summer. Also did a couple challenges and a page or two of my Project Life.

I am lucky that life is mostly good these days.

You are so right about the weather forecasts! They can change in a day!

Feeling better today! Actually went to lunch with Mark! The nagging headache is there but in the background......no bending over for me today still!

Good afternoon,
Woke up at 8:20 this morning. Was out the door and headed to Walmart by 8:45. I am going shopping tonight with my pastor's wife/biking friend and her sister this afternoon and wanted to get an early "pastor's wife appreciation gift" for her.....cash.....for our shopping tonight. While there I got a few items that were on the list I keep ongoing on the fridge....aluminum foil, zip loc storage bags....while there I decided to look for canisters to clean up all of the bags and boxes of this and that in my one cabinet that holds flour, oils, cereal, pasta....I'm tired of the mess of things being piled on top of one another! Found some from Better Homes and Gardens that I like. Put them to immediate use when I got home. By that time it was time to leave to get Mark and his coworker, Bob, for lunch. We had pizza from Mama Mia's. It was yummy!
So, I'm home for a few hours before leaving to meet my friends at 3:30 for shopping.
I'm going to need some more of those storage containers I got today and I looked for a few other things that were not at Walmart, so.....hi ho, hi ho, it's online shopping I go! ;)
Have a great afternoon!

Oh you are so my NJ and weather-twin, I TOTALLY agree! Right now it feels "cool" and I keep saying this is nothing yet.... It's all so relative, but I do NOT like the trend we are heading in... :cold:

Hugs right back to you... :hug4::hug4:
