Yoooo hooo! I'm back! :waving1
I am here in one piece, mentally and physically. Not bad, right? I don't remember exactly what they were going on about, but when my parents and I were getting the car packed up on Saturday, I hugged Gary goodbye and whispered in his ear to make sure there was wine in the fridge for when I got home. He whispered back: How many bottles? And I said five.
However, we had a very nice time with only a few instances of me rolling my eyes and refereeing a bit.
My dad wanted to go to church, so I offered to drop him off, and then I went to the nature sanctuary which is 5 minutes past the church. I got in 1 .5 hike before I had to go and pick him back up. That gave him a chance to talk to me about giving up driving. I told him that I understood the decision was difficult and that I supported him.
I got a ton of yardwork and weeding done so when it's time to get the leaf blower out, it will be much easier to deal with. I'll talk to Scott about seeing when he has a day off, and he and I can go up for the day.
Aside from the yard work, I didn't have to do much of anything. My mom got me a book out of the library that she thought I would enjoy and I finished 3/4 of it when I was there! I could never do that at home. :giggle4: It is "Wendy, Darling," and it's a darker take on Neverland. Wendy is now an adult and Peter kidnaps her young daughter, Jane.

Today I have to catch up on my laundry and emails.
Wishing everyone a very happy day!

Glad you had a mostly great time in PA! Welcome back!

Good Morning,
Up at 5:30 this morning to see my DD#1 off to continue her trip to SC. She still has about 3.5 hours of travel and I'm sure she will be ready for a nap after dealing with morning traffic!
She arrived around 4 yesterday and her sister, DD#3 came around 5:15 to eat supper with us. I love seeing how they get along now that they are adults with children. When they were younger, it was DD#1/DS#2 and DD#3/DS#4 paired off and you didn't mix any of that or there was trouble! But now, in their maturity, they all get along great together! I wish they all were closer so we could spend more time together! But with one living in OH, one in AL, one in NC, one in WV.....the times we can all spend together are few and far between and have to be on purpose! That's why, even though she and her DH traveled back from WV yesterday, DD#3 wanted to come and spend some time with her sister. Makes this momma's heart happy!
No real plans today. I want to mop the floors and do Mark's laundry from last week that I never got around to doing yesterday. I need to take the church deposit to the bank, too, since yesterday was a holiday.
The weather was absolutely gorgeous this weekend! We even took a bike ride with out pastor and wife on Sunday. Our last ride together was back in March before the weather started getting so outrageously hot!
OK, I need to get busy!
Have a great day!

@vickyday How wonderful to have your kids pop in to visit you and each other. I hope that everyone's timing worked out for a great time together.

@AK_Tracy LOL-ing at the youth group leader and the deodorant. Last week's Scout badge was Sustainability, and the kids had to come up with ideas on how to make a community more sustainable and eco-friendly. I think there were 16-17 kids and only one girl. The majority of the boys gave an example of not taking showers to save water. Can you imagine!? Never mind, *don't* imagine that!
Hope you got all of your housework finished with time to relax when you were done.

@BrightEyes Did the bug guy call you yesterday? I don't want to scold you (LOL!) but it seems like you overdid it with cleaning and moving the mattress and the laundry. I know you didn't have a choice but still... I hope that he can figure out what to do and that it isn't as expensive as it sounds.

@Terri M Your poor hands must have been frozen on the bike but sheesh -- it is technically still summer so who would have thought you needed them so soon.
What a mess with the ebook missing pages like that. I hate when a book is a struggle to get through but to find out that part of the problem was missing pages... Blergh!

Speaking of books, Tracy- I got the First Reads that you recommended in July (IIRC, might have been August, who can tell anymore??) I can't remember the name but it was with the woman whose mom was killed by her sister... That was very good, thanks for that rec!

@bcgal00 So sorry to read that the craft market wasn't all that good. Lots of luck for the one coming up this weekend.
How did the cashew queso come out? If you liked it, can you share the recipe? I made a cashew queso once but not with miso, maybe that it what it needed?

@BoatLady And you are right back into the swing of it in your community! After being mostly on your own/small groups on your trip, was it weird being around so many people at once?
Do you go on any other short camping trips or are you done until next season?

Hugs!

Well @faerywings I'm so glad your trip was a success and not stressful. So I hope the 5 bottles of wine was enough---LOL. How nice to have time with your dad and get a hike in. He has a big decision so I hope he finalizes the decision soon for everyone's worry level. All that work and you had time to read that is so wonderful for you.

@vickyday Wow that pic of the woods looks great I really like all the info. I look forward to seeing the progress page. How nice he still have the land he played in. When we were young we lived next to my grandparents who had lots of land so we played there all the time. My brother ended up living behind that property and used to hike up the the area where we built our forts and played. All great memories. Great pic of you with the girls.

@AK_Tracy Boys not taking showers_LOL

@BrightEyes wow you are sure having trouble with those bugs I hope it works out soon so you can get back to normal.

Today I am going to hit the grocery store to stock up the food supply here at the house. I need to tend to my banana tree and the dragonfruit plant while it is still cool.

Hi there, been a while since I popped in. Not much happening here. Went to the drs today, and left some blood. I took tests a month ago & 2 of them was a bit high, so this was a check to see if things are better. It was 2 liver thingamajings, they'll probably think I am an alcoholic. (If you didn't know already, I don't drink alcohol at all).

My new(ish) goal of reading more books have gotten some competition. I couldn't sleep last Thursday, and Netflix suggested I should watch Love Is Blind Sweden. Well, I thought I might as well check out the first episode. Now I have watched both seasons of the Swedish version & first season of the US version, and just started on the German version. Netflix has Love Is Blind from many countries. I'll be busy for the rest of the year. LOL It's a silly show, and people are stupid, but it's quite fun to see the cultural differences.

Stop by the store on my way home & this store make like "save-waste-bags". They take veggies that are a bit older, put them in bags and sell them real cheap. I got a bag with 2 zucchinis, 5 spring onions, and 4 beet roots for 10 SEK. That's about a dollar. Normally, I would pay about 15 SEK for 1 zucchini. Now I'm going to try a new recipe for dinner. Found a recipe for some kind of bake with zucchini, spring onion and lentils.

Great deal on the veggies, especially since you can use them right away!

Good Morning Ladies!
Today feels gloomy. I dont know why other then its overcast and gloomy weather. Flannel shirt weather but will probably warm up enough to ditch the flannel.

@faerywings yes that book was SOOOO good!!!! I told my daughter she had to read it too and she loved it. I also dont remember the title but it was a good one. Another first read I read was .......... come on memory......... forget it, got to go look.
Cold Island: A Novel (Detective Tommy Kelly Book 1). Oh man that one was good yet a bit hard to read because of subject matter. Such a page turner and had to finish it quickly to see how it ended. I love a good murder mystery, one that keeps me guessing.

@vickyday Love the photo of you and your daughters. Sounds like a short but good visit with them both. :heartpumppink:

@BoatLady Glad youre home safe and sound Debby. Grocery day sounds terrible but yep, gotta do that after being gone so long. I love that you dont use the tv in the camper while youre out playing. That is so wonderful. We only used ours once or twice and that was cause the kids were little and it was raining none stop. Way back when we had a motorhome (inherited it). Was too expensive so we sold it. Seemed to always break down and tow bills are crazy expensive on a 40' motorhome.

@tanteva ***waving*** Hi!!!!! Good to see you!!! hope the blood tests come back good!!!

Not much happening here today. Its my one day this week to relax so I might AJ and maybe a challenge or two. Need to finish the last couple pages of my personal Aug memories so I can print the book. I know, the boys will soon be asking what's for dinner. What to have???? Thinking easy like spaghetti, maybe a roast chicken. Who knows. cant do Fend For Yourself as we did that yesterday and there's nothing left. Off to scrap. have a wonderful day!
