Hello hello!! How are ya doing today?
I am here, I am breathing, and that is what counts. Hahahaha!

What a day I had. It was bonkers. All of it. Good, bad, kooky, confusing, stressful, and relieving. Talk about running a gamut of emotions allll day long!
After I signed off here, I checked the traffic to the medical center and it all looked good. I was ready, killingtime and decided to leave a few mintuies early. Maybe if I got there early they could take me early. That was The Plan. Unforeseen circumstances (as in me not reading the exit signs properly) made me get there right on time. I know exactly where the place is. I drove past it almost every day for 2 years when I was commuting to college. But I was using Google Maps and mistook the exit they wanted me to take for one that was 1/2 before the right one. The GPS led me in circles all through Morristown, until I was able to get back to the road the hospital is on. I joked to Gary that if he was tracking me in real-time, the path would have looked like a crazy pretzel.
The foot is good, the bone is mostly healed, and the weird swelling is normal.
My parents were behaving. Always a plus. :D
I got back home around 3 and we had an appt for Jaida at 5. The vet (a different one than we saw last week) looked at it and said that it is not a hot spot and doesn't look like a mast cell tumor. WHEW!!! He suspects that it is an infected cyst and we are continuing with the oral abx, adding a topical abx, and warm compresses to help it drain.
We get home, I start pulling leftovers out of the fridge for dinner, and Caitlyn calls. Her windshield wipers stopped working and it was pouring buckets. (Not sure if anyone saw it on the news, Eva messaged me so she must have seen it in Sweden!). Some areas of NJ got 4" of rain in an hour. Anyway, she was halfway home, on a heavily traveled mountainous road when they died. She was able to pull off into someone's driveway, thank goodness cuz she was right on a blind curve.
Anyway, long story short, Gary and I had to drive to where she was, then Gary drove her car home behind me as I drove very slowly so he could follow my lights. It took us almost an hour and a half from the time we left to the time we got back home. So chalk up another day where I felt like I drove all over North Jersey.

The worst of the flooding is south of me, but probably near @MariJ -- how are you? I hope that you didn't have any flooding or power outages at your home.

I am picking up groceries this morning, the patio construction starts today, and we have to figure out what/when/how Cait will get her car in the shop.
:thud:

Wish me luck and sanity!

Thank you! Went to lunch with Mark's daughter after church. She bought an older trailer that she is fixing up for her and her son to live in, so we went to see that afterwards. She has done a lot of work on it but still has lots to do! I hope she doesn't regret it. It is 50 years old but has new AC unit and new kitchen cabinets. She mainly bought it for the land investment. She is hoping to get her grooming business moved closer to home, so that will help, too. After that we went home and just chilled in front of the TV all afternoon. I worked on the church deposit and paperwork while Mark slept with the NASCAR race on!
How exciting for Mark's DD, I hope that the renovations are easy and inexpensive :)
I hope they found a new place to live. If I remember they need to be out soon.
Oh go checkout my page on Monthly challenge Birds at McCabin...the birds I heard here at Mikes.
They did and not too far from here, about 20 minutes or so. Not the same as across the street but it could be worse.
I saw a bunch of your LOs, some of the cabin and the birds! ♥
Good morning

:sleeping1:
Late night last night. I think I fell asleep at 3 a.m.
Send more coffee
:coffeedrinker::coffeedrinker::coffeedrinker:
Hugs and coffee to you.
Scrap that, wrong order.
Coffee *first* then the hugs.

@Terri M you have been so busy, I hope that you find some time to relax! Hope that your mom feels better soon!

@BrightEyes what a good day, traffic light gods were smiling!

Can I quit? Am I allowed to throw a toddler fit and say NO no more. :giggle4:
Yes, as long as I can join you.

Hang in there, everyone!

xoxoxo

@faerywings Wow more rain for you. Glad you all got home safely last evening, that sounds like quite an adventure. Well your long time friends will be a little farther away but doable so you can still get together it will be less often but more special. I hope you took some before pics of your patio so you can scrap the changes.

@terri glad you are getting back to normal and hope your mom gets better soon. Covid is not fun but it sounds like she has a mild case, I hope she doesn't infect others.

@AK_Tracy I hope you had a better sleep last night.

Lake Placid area is gorgeous. Last night after dinner we took a ride to the base of the ski jumps but i used my phone so shitty pics I will try to get better ones today. Going to the Olympic Museum today and hopefully John Brown farm nearby.

Have a good day

What a CRAZY day! I hate days like that! It just makes everything seem off! Glad you survived for another day!

Good Morning,
Quick in and out. Will be leaving soon to pick Mark up for lunch.
Got my laundry caught up for another week yesterday.
Got my Week 3 AJ challenge posted after midnight last night.....right before the horrendous thunderstorm hit us! I unplugged my computer because I didn't want to take a chance on it being "surged" upon! ;)
Also got my August Challenge #1 done this morning. Now to create my sample page for it.
And that's about it. I want to do some organizing of my scrapbooks today. I've got a mix of this and that in some of them and I want to make them more theme/year related. That will be a job!
OK, that's it for me. Need to get dressed and ready to leave.
Have a great day!

Good Morning!!
I did get some sleep last night and feel much better. @faerywings Chris your day sounds totally crazy!! I'm glad to the foot healing is goo and normal. That's a huge relief but man oh man, poor Caitlyn and her car. Must have wipers. That had to be a tense drive home.Yes, you can join me in my toddler fit of quitting adulting. We start the revolt just as soon as you arrive :floorlaugh: @BoatLady Debby I love reading about all the places you guys visit. I would love to tour the Lower 48 and see everything. We (country) dont seem to have really old history like other places but what we have sounds so cool, especially when you are telling us of all the paces you saw. @vickyday Yeah Vicky!!! AJ was posted!! I looked last night and didn't see it before I went to bed so yeah! Cant wait. I confess this months theme is flying in my head and I have the LO done already. Just gonna tweak it by the inspiration in your post. I am almost done with week 4 too. That never happens. I never work on them early, I always wait until its posted. Not this time. The ideas are just flying out of my head. Well, must get more coffee. Headed to church shortly to finish the deep clean. We didn't get the pantry done and I need that done before we start fall cooking. Fishing will kick into high gear (for us) soon and I wont have time. So today is it. And its sunny. Cause I will be indoors :giggle4: Have a wonderful day!

Can't wait to see it, Tracy! Yeah, I posted it just after midnight my time, which is 8 your time, so you were in bed early.....glad you caught up on your sleep!

It was nice to have a relatively calm day yesterday. It rained again in the afternoon and evening, and we had other times when it was raining somewhere close by because the thunder was rumbling. And today, again, the "Flood Watch" was waiting on my phone when I got up this morning.

Today I'm biting the bullet and doing a factory reset on my iPad. It's using over 90% of its memory on the OS and apps, and I haven't added a ton of apps, plus I don't keep any data on it, so I think something is just not right and I'm starting over. Which shouldn't be hard but it's time-consuming.

she is at one of my favorite places ---Block Island RI.
I've always fantasized over Block Island when viewing maps! It just looks like it would be a great place to visit. I'll get there someday.

The GPS led me in circles all through Morristown, until I was able to get back to the road the hospital is on.
Several decades ago, when I was new to NJ, lived near South Orange, and worked in Parsippany, I decided to stop on my way home at a store in Morristown. Planned it all out on a map so I wouldn't get lost. Started driving. A fire along the way diverted all traffic off my chosen route....and I was ruined! Drove in circles around Morristown til I started running low on gas, had to find a bank drive-thru to cash a check so I could buy gas, it was dark and I couldn't find a pay phone, or even explain to my husband where I was if I found one. I eventually worked my way out but I've been traumatized ever since. I appreciate GPS, cell phones, and ATMs so much!

Oh my, Chris - what an awful experience for your Daughter and then you both to get her, pretty scary for sure, I'm sorry.... NJ was a mess and the Governor declared a state of emergency and yes, as you said - some of the flooding on the news was unreal.... Thankfully I had hard rain, but not even torrential, in fact I was going to go out to do a pick up in the middle of it until my neighbor texted to check on me and said there were flash flood warnings. So I stayed home with no issues, thank you for thinking of me. :heartpumppink:

I'm SO happy that your foot is coming along, that is very good news, whew. Hopefully your today will be quieter and more peaceful.
It's gonna be another hot one. :heartpumppink: :fan:
