The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good morning!
I have the AC off, the windows are open, and I love the quiet in the house. All I hear are the birds chirping and the dogs snoring. Sweet!

My busy day yesterday was indeed busy. Every once in a while, my arthritis acts up and I worry that Lyme symptoms are back. Then I have long days like yesterday and realize there is no way I could get everything done and not be a puddle on the floor if they were. My friend only puts the AC on if absolutely necessary, which meant I cleaned for 2.5 hours in the heat and probably sweated out every last drop of water that I drank. ;)
But I asked if she had any science-y or art supplies that she wanted to get rid of to keep me in mind. She dragged out some of her old teaching supplies and sent me home with scissors, poster board, cardstock, glue sticks, rulers- etc and etc.
My mom and went to the diner and had a good time catching up, aside from her concerns about my dad. He called me in the afternoon to order him another cane (good idea, Dad!), but when I asked how the audiologist appointment went, he became very upset and discouraged. The new/better hearing aid still isn't helping. He is hearing is going in and out even with the aid, everything sounds tinny, and he doesn't think it is ever going to work. He could barely make out what I was saying on the phone.
After my mom left, I had to pay bills (ugh!) and then cut out some cardboard owl masks for work. I am helping with a Forestry Merit badge on Saturday, so I read over the lesson plan to get familiar with "silviculture," a brand-new word to me!

Today I am working from home. I want to make sure I have everything ready to go for the camp days. I want to see if I can pick up a bag of food from the FP "emergency hotline" :D since I am working all day on Saturday, the next scheduled date. It stinks that no one else in my house is willing to go when I can't, but I get it, it is not a great feeling going there, so I won't push unless it is dire.

Maybe I will have time to work on the AJ challenge today.
I hope so!!

Hugs!

Beautiful anyway! You need to start carrying a real camera with you!
I'm so happy you are able to work and love what you are doing!
Hahah!! I would love to but since we drag all of our supplies with us over the property, I don't want to carry one more ounce than I have to. LOL!!
Being there makes me happy even when it is hard work/difficult kids.
Picked up one of the grandkids yesterday to spend a few days until her mom has to pick her up for ball practice tomorrow afternoon. Today we are going to go to lunch with Ilene and then play a few games of Rummikub before coming back home to get ready for church.
What a fun few days! LOL-ing at how she wouldn't give up with Rummikub unit she won.

@AK_Tracy Sending you some cozy blankets, chicken soup, and a good book while you get over your cold!

@BrightEyes Whew, that is great news that you and DD#1 didn't get sick. *knocking wood so I don't jinx you on the tail end of the window*
Hope that everything went well with your grandson's appts.

I could not work in a house in this weather with NO AC! Glad she had some teaching supplies for you, however!

Good morning,
Boy! Did we get a storm yesterday! Even got hail with the rain! Flooded the ditches in no time with the bucket loads of rain! Our area is looking to have a repeat of that for several days in the afternoons! Water was running from every direction in the basement!

Yesterday, after the teenager got up, we picked Ilene up and went to Ruby Tuesday for their $7.99 salad bar (normally $12.99). Abby got the cajun chicken pasta. When it came back there was spice spilled all over it and it was so spicy she could only eat a little bit, gulping drink after each bite! However, Mark was able to eat the leftovers with no problem, LOL! Then we went back to Ilene's and played Rummikub. Abby won the first 2 games, which made her very happy, and kept her playing until Ilene won a game and I won 3 games! After that we had to leave so everyone could get ready for church.

We had a light crowd at church last night because the storms were hitting right about the time to head to church and as we got to church. Our church has an older congregation, so it is understandable.

Today Abby and I are going to lunch with Mark and then her mom will pick her up for ball practice. I figured the rain from yesterday would cancel the practice, but Liz said it is turf and they probably would not cancel.

After she leaves, I want to work on this week's AJ challenge page and finish my draft for next week's challenge. And we will go from there.

Leftover stuffed peppers is on the menu for tonight, so I don't have to worry about that.

Hope everyone stays safe and dry today and has a great day!

Ummmm NO. Hard pass. I dont work in heat. that's extra draining and wipes you out. I would have asked please a fan or some ac cause this girl would have tipped over.

This stinks to high heaven. I know its not fun, but sometimes you need the help and have to be willing. I always tell my kids on grocery day, you dont help you dont eat. It works great. I hope you can get them to see they need to help out if you cant get to the food pantry. It would be different if you weren't feeding them too but since they eat the food they can go in your place once in awhile. Ok soap box, sorry. :hug2: :soapbox: I'm stepping down now. I just see how much you do, and it upsets me they wont go for you since youre busy.

Oh this sounds bad!!! And knowing it will happen several afternoons in a row! *need an umbrella emoji*. I hope you dont get too much water in the basement.

Today is haircut day. I'm sick of my hair. I want it down to the middle of my back yet I hate it being in my face and short is almost more work but I hate it being in my face and its curly so styling is a challenge but all I do it pull it up and I hate the pull and headache it causes and whine whine whine. Hair is a pain. Still head cold but I can at least function better. Off to get coffee. Have a great day.

You need to go short and let your hair do its own thing!
I straightened my hair for 50 years for DH#1.
DH#2 likes it curly whether it is short or long. Thank you Lord!

I've done super short and you know what happens? The curls dont curl. Its so weird. If its to short, it seems to not curl, if its too long the curls are just wavy and if its shoulder length like now, it curls with a mind of its own. Ive been Princess Diana short and as long as my shoulder blades. Each is fun but has annoyances. I just hate hair in my face LOL But if you cut it wrong you have to style it and I dont take time to do that. :giggle4:

I just wacked some of my bangs off yesterday because I can't stand them hanging almost in my eyes. My hair appointment is still 2 weeks away and I wasn't about to put up with them for that length of time!

We finally have internet at our son's McCabin i'll try to catch- up. I just read back a few days and I missed so much.
Sorry to hear you and family are under the weather @AK_Tracy I hope you are all better real soon. I agree there is nothing worse than a summer cold.

@BrightEyes I'm glad you didn't get sick and your rush to disinfect and wash sheets is a good thing.

@vickyday so nice to spend time with grandchildren isn't it. I love all the time with my grandchildren. You are running around again I see. I saw the pages of your wonderful vacation so glad you got to spend so much time having fun.

@faerywings Your view from the window is so wonderful...I'd rather look at a bears butt than a building!!! sounds like you are making progress in your new cabin classroom. I'm glad you are enjoying it. I know you would love it up here at our son's property and the surrounding area. so many birds and so much natural forest. It really is spectacular so I see why he wants to retire here....but it is cold in the winters.

I 'm glad to be on the internet again.

My daughter forbid me to have bangs again!!!! She said I look older with bangs but man the hair sure gets in the way at times. I almost cut them last week but I resisted. I'll have to take a photo tomorrow when I've washed and styled it myself so you can see.

YEAH!!!!! So happy youre back in the land of internet Debby!!!! I bet it was amazing to have the break though and just enjoy your time at McCabin.
