The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Good mornin', my lOves!

It's pretty amazing how much being outdoors helps my mood, even after all these years of saying it. :p I had a very exciting wildlife day at work. I pulled into my regular parking spot, opened my door, and looked through the window. And what did I see? A bear. A pretty big one from the part of him/her I saw. I yelled out, "Hey bear!" and that didn't faze him whatsoever. I had to beep the car horn to get him to walk off. I drove down to the cabin and heard so many hawks calling overhead. I couldn't see them, but there had to be at least 3 or 4. I needed to grab a few rocks for a little rock garden I made and walked on to the trail-- a deer and three fawns, all spotted and tiny!
My last discovery was super cool but probably not to many of you. LOL I was moving some tree stump "seats" and uncovered a huge- like 2" huge insect larvae. I used iNaturalist to ID it and it was a Pharaoh Cicada larvae. I thought I got a picture of it, but I must not have hit the camera button. I never saw one like that and want to get back and see if it is still there.
I weeded out the front garden area and transplanted some dogbane, milkweed, and black eyed-susies. It's going to need maintenance, so much stilt grass in that area but at least that stuff is easy to rip out.

I also found a little desk in a different cabin, cleaned that up, and added that to the classroom part of the cabin.

Today I need to get my grocery order and then clean my house. It's in pretty bad shape.
This afternoon, I might either work out in the yard, work on Camp prep, or scrap. We'll see!

xoxo

@vickyday When I got to work, I thought my plans were going to get tossed, it started to rain while I was weeding. But it actually felt kind of nice and it stopped pretty quickly. Then in came the humidity! Ick! I was sweating my butt off. (I wish that was 90% literally, I could use a little less in the caboose :rotfl:)
I bet I could turn the stuffed peppers into a vegan recipe if I used Beyond Beef. I don't like them, but maybe that would be acceptable to the test of the family. Thx for the idea!

@AK_Tracy I snagged that book from First Reads. If I don't like it, I am blaming you :giggle4:
Best thing about FirstReads is that it doesn't matter if I like it or not-- it is free. *G* BFF lent me two books, The Berry Pickers and The Wedding People. I'll let you all know what I think when I read them. I am halfway through the 2nd Hunger Games Prequel that I borrowed from the library so that needs to get finished first.

@BrightEyes I hope that DD#1 and DS had a successful trip to the Apple store.
Still feeling healthy enough? Take some Vitamin C or drink extra OJ - even if only to make you feel like you are doing something heh

Love you all!

I am in love with the wall of windows on this "cabin"! I still say this is not your typical cabin in the woods! I could easily live there, LOL! LOVE those stump seats! The little flower garden looks great! Can't wait to see it in bloom! Bears, and dear, and hawks.....OH, MY! ;). Sounds wonderful! Only one question.....WHERE ARE THE PICTURES????!!!! ;)

I'm sure most of us could use a little less in the caboose! Me, included, for sure! :floorlaugh:
You could totally turn the stuffed peppers into a vegan recipe! They were sooooo good! I got them started on low for a couple of hours then turned the heat to high because they were not cooking fast enough and I knew Mark would be ready to eat when he got home. So, probably 3-4 hours on high would do the trick. If I had started the crockpot in the morning, probably the low setting would work for eating them for supper! I've never used the Prego marinara before but it was REALLY good! I sprinkled cheese on a couple of them when they were done and put the lid back on to let the steam melt the cheese for about 15 minutes.

Okay, I'm good with that!!! :floorlaugh: But if you got it without reading the blurb, I'm not to blame. Cant wait to hear what you think of it.

Curious, what do you do with the sauce? After they cook I mean. I've done stuffed peppers but they're baked and no sauce. I've also done mini peppers as nachos. Used the pepper in place of the chips.

Not much happening here. Youngest brought home germs during vbs which coincided with allergies so we didn't think much of it, then the next kid went down but he barfed too (which he always does with head colds) so we didn't think anything. Nope, darn kid brought home a cold germ and now hubs and I are down. Sneezing and stuffy. Thankfully its not too bad so I could still deep clean yesterday but man I am bleach smelled out. Have to do laundry today but otherwise I am just gonna sit and attempt a layout or two. Its almost time for week two AJ and I only have two challenges done so far. This month is flying at the moment.

Off to grab that second cup coffee.

Quick helloooooo to all. We are at our son’s place in remote upstate NY. No service at all since we got here. Running errands in town so I can drop a quick note.
The house is coming along very nicely. Thursday they should be getting internet so I’ll be posting more and catching up.
Have a good week everyone.

Sorry to hear about the sickness in your family. Prayers it goes away quickly!

We put the marinara on the peppers before eating. Plus there was meat and rice leftover so I put some sauce on that for my second helping.

Okay, that sounds yummy. Just never thought to cook them in marinara sauce. I'm betting a really garlicky sauce would be amazing too.

Good morning everyone. I have been busy with the artisan markets. Doing well. I've got one next wkend and then a few more the following month. It's kept me busy. We all went to the Calgary Stampede yesterday and even tho it was hot (in the 90s), we had so much fun. Bought my first ever cowboy hat, so did Jen.

@faerywings sounds like the classroom is coming along nicely and so many interesting things right there to explore. Love those windows too and the circle of stump seats. I am so happy for you, I can just feel the joy you have with this job!

Remi and Bella were howling for about 20 min just before we got home yesterday after being away for 9 hours (we had a camera set up so we could see/hear what was happening in the house while we were away) but otherwise they stayed quiet all day (good dogs). Today Remi wants even more love and attention from me (if that is possible) so I am heading out for an extra long walk with her before heading off to canasta for a few hours.

Have a great day everyone.
