The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
It's Hump Day and looks to be a pretty day here in NJ. The sun is out right now but talk about a good stretch of rain, on and off since Saturday night. When I pulled into the drive at work, it made me so happy to see the stream flowing quickly. There is a small waterfall a little farther up the trail and what a difference it makes on the current of the lower portions of the stream.
The best part of yesterday's rain-- no thunder in the area while we were outside exploring. The session went well, really well. The kids were all dressed in rain gear and boots. We found some cool insects, worms, and something totally new to me: tree soap! One of the kids noticed a bunch of bubbles. at the base of one tree. Since we were discussing frog and salamander eggs, she asked if that was what it was. They weren't in water so I knew for sure it wasn't that. My coworker was able to get a photo of it, a bit of googling, and it is called tree soap. It happens after a dry spell, when the heavy rains mix with sap and particulates collected on the bark. It looks exactly like bubbles when you wash dishes. Fascinating! I love learning new things! Love it!

I also called my mom to see how my dad did with his hearing test/hearing aid consult. The doctor and techs were so helpful and guess what!!?? He can hear! I'm glad that he tried the Costco hearing aids a few months ago but they didn't work for him. My mom said the look on his face as they were fitting him with the hearing aid and he realized he could hear-- priceless. I think he gets the "real" one in a couple of weeks. When I texted him, he joked, "No more excuses for not listening to your mom." I told him he'd better not let her read that :D

No big plans today. Gary and I have to run to Tractor Supply and pick up some pots/soil for the seedlings I started last week. So far, everything has sprouted aside from the red peppers.
I also desperately need to clean out my car. It is caked with mud, has bits of leaves all over -- and that is the inside! LOL

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

But the best part ever! I wasn't dying by the end. I wasn't so wore out I couldn't finish like I use to be before surgery. Not too long until the next one and I cant wait to see how it is this fall when totally recovered from that. If this little bit makes me feel so amazing what it will feel when my thighs aren't so heavy.
This makes me so happy!! I can't imagine the difference it makes just moving.
How long do the results from the surgery last? Is the thickening something that can come back over time? (Not sure if that is the right words/phrasing but hope you know what I am asking)
I am buying one after owning 6 of them but giving them away when we moved. The same with cardstock, I gave away and donated hundreds and guess what I need now??? Yep, cardstock.
Isn't that the way of it? Ugh. I had a love/hate feeling when I prepped my packaging for craft shows. I loved making everything look nice and pretty but got so frustrated with the adhesives on the bottles. The labels would always end up slightly crooked and that would annoy that **** out of me!
I am going to see if Fresh Prep has any recipes on their site. I am so bored with everything I cook lately. TFS!

@vickyday Decluttering Queen! :crown1:
That's fantastic that the chair is more comfortable. I was laughing at the story of the armrests. I don't know what I would do without my mechanical husband, either. I would have to resort to duct tape and hot glue to "fix" things.
Poor Ilene must be missing you!

@taxed4ever based on your activity levels (staining the fence and hiking today), I guess that your back and shoulders are feeling lots better--that's great. Enjoy the day on the trails!
Must be the week for hauling out the trash, it took me 3 tries to get the left side of my last double volleyball page done, started the right side today-
We should pat ourselves on the back for knowing when to trash a LO and again when we don't give up on it.. :lovey3:
Your weather sounds amazing, especially since it was freezing a few days ago.
Are you ready for the surgery?

@taxed4ever ITA with Vicky-- I would hate to see you leave the team! But if it's too much, you need to do what is right for you and your Gary ♥
(but don't leeeeeaaave!!)

Hugs, my friends!

Good morning. I do not know how it happened but my sweet granddaughter is 23 today. The time is flying by.. Seems like yesterday that I sat in hospital waiting for ??? we didn't know what baby was. One of the best surprises of life.
Well hello ladies...wow this getting ready to travel for months really is a lot of work. Monday night at the club was fun..had to say 'see you in the fall' to many people kinda sad.
Yesterday was dental appt for teeth cleaning...all is well. Then I went to visit a friend for a little while. then our son's "sorta " MIL stopped by so I could give here info for Yellowstone and Grand Tetons as they are going there later this year. we had a
quick lunch at home then finishing up in the gardens. 4 pots to moved into the irrigation area but the patio is looking naked now.
2 less baby Muscovy ducks, the mother who is under our tree is sitting on eggs has been very good so hopefully she has success getting them hatched before predictors.I'm sad to miss them.
Last night hubby a board meeting then a quick dinner and it is back to the club for Dive In Movie night. We had a blast watching Capt. Ron. with friends. We had a small crew because many Snowbirds have gone home already. We had many laughs while we had our pop-corn and "Cheetos"- that is a whole story in itself!
Today I am fertilizing plants and dealing with the leafminers in my citrus trees-ugh. I packed up 3 bags of stuff to take to the trailer. I take a few bags, unpack and put away...you would think my list is getting shorter...no I just added more.
It's hot here now 84 already but we have a breeze off the gulf so that helps allot.

@faerywings Thanks for the second gift idea but our son only builds bonfires...huge ones where 3-4 pallets at a time. so he can use the ferro rod to start them. There is also a plant called soap wort that makes soap that can be used to bathe with. Interesting about the tree.

@taxed4ever sad you are leaving the team but I use understand as I was on 2 teams at SG it gets to be too much to keep up when all you want to do is be retired.

@vickyday Yup you are the Declutter Queen. I will try to do that when I get home after summer travels.

@AK_Tracy What are you thinking to volunteer...LOL I do it too, but you are barely recovered from your surgery and the next one is looming...You should be taking it a little easy.
I hear you about expensive taste!...Cold water lobster not spiny lobster for me, shrimp!-not prawns got to have the salt water variety, blue crabs, stone crabs, crab legs, all fish.... I just had hogfish- it's a Florida fish that they go 30 miles into Gulf to get and they have to dive for it then spear it, sweet moist white fish with a delicate flavor. I love Salmon too! I guess I am just a coastal girl.

@bcgal00 I did the same I gave away all my cardstock when we moved here now I have to buy it again to make cards....duh.

Ok break time is over so back out to do more yard stuff. I want to scrap!!!

I know your dad can be a PITB sometimes, but he sounds like he is a hoot! So glad you had a good day with the kiddos yesterday! Never heard of tree soap! I like learning new things, too!

Yes, Ilene misses me not being with her but she is going up to be with her daughter for several days anyway, so that's good.
Yes, the chair is GREAT with no arms! slides right under the desk and is so comfy!
The decluttering is at a point where I need to carry stuff out to the she shed to get it out of my way, lol! And some of it is stuff I want my girls to look at when we get together at the end of this month for our summer gathering.

Not long before you leave for your trip, right?

Morning, all. We are having more rain off and on... no thunder and lightening with the latest ones, thank goodness. Should be warming up from the low 60's today and into the 70's tomorrow and next week. I got my errands ran yesterday then DD#3 stopped by for a nice long visit in the late afternoon. Then this morning, I got an email from DD#1... she will be flying in on Friday for a week's stay. :dancing6: Have a couple of LOs I need to finish before she arrives. Good thing that I have just stocked up on fresh fruits and veggies.

@taxed4ever We will miss you on the CT if you decide to step down but understand that RL has to take priority. There will be adjustments made now that DH has retired. We hope you will keep coming in and visiting with us.

DD is calling...

Good Morning,
Had my morning walk and will be going to lunch again with Mark in about 30 minutes.
He brought the pieces out to the car that he fixed for my office chair and they are perfect! The chair slides right under the desk and is so comfy! Anything would have been better than that stupid folding chair! He wants to check out Tim's old office chair that is still in the parsonage to see if he can use it in his office here at the house. I wanted to say, you're gonna have to clean out your office first! But I didn't! ;)
Since my tummy was a bit messed up yesterday morning, I didn't go to the track to walk, so I asked Mark after he got home if he wanted to take a walk down our woods together since he wanted to get Piper out to run for a bit. It was beautiful weather all day yesterday and it was a wonderful walk!
I started on my widows' devotion yesterday, but I'm not settled on it yet. Today after lunch I need to start working on the Psalm 19 Bible study for our ladies at church on Saturday. I'm running out of time! I have most of it done, but want to go over it again.
That's about it for me. I also need to start thinking about the Week 3 AJ I will be hosting!
Have a great day!

Good Morning.
Was blinded by the sun as I came out of my bedroom today. Hope its an amazing day of sun with some porch sitting but we shall see. Last night the rainbow over our place was HUGE and BRIGHT! The photos are good but dont show just how amazing it was. I'm sure they'll make a LO sometime soon.

it is called tree soap. It happens after a dry spell, when the heavy rains mix with sap and particulates collected on the bark. It looks exactly like bubbles when you wash dishes. Fascinating! I love learning new things! Love it!
This is so cool. Those kids are learning so much from you and it sounds like such a fun way to learn.
My mom said the look on his face as they were fitting him with the hearing aid and he realized he could hear-- priceless. I think he gets the "real" one in a couple of weeks. When I texted him, he joked, "No more excuses for not listening to your mom."
YEAH!!! That will be amazing for all of you! If he can hear he wont get so frustrated too.

Well, its unknown. I will always have to use compression on busy days so my lymph system functions properly. I have to watch heat and swelling. I watch foods too as they can cause swelling. Swelling stops the lymph system from functioning and that leads to issues. The diseased fat cells can grow again as not all of them were removed. Its impossible to remove all of them. But its significantly reduced. Hormone fluctuations really trigger things. Thankfully I have hit most of the milestones that are horrid, puberty, pregnancy, etc where the hormones are out of wack. I was mid menopause so I wont have to worry too much but I do watch and keep track. I had hysterectomy several years ago so that helps keep hormone levels more balanced. My daughter who was more advanced (she was stage 3 I was stage 1.5) will have to be careful as she hasn't hit menopause yet and that could trigger growth for her.

Oh I missed this yesterday. @taxed4ever We would miss you terribly Trudy but you need to enjoy retirement with Gary. Its your turn to enjoy each other. and have fun.

Debby, I dont know what I was thinking other then it was the kitchen and I need it to be managed. I'm kinda like a lot of you and am not sure what taking it easy means. :giggle4: I'm half done though. It wont be too much work. I may have screwed up though as July 7 we are deep cleaning the kitchen. I will be about 5 weeks post op at that point. But hopefully I will have help. If not I wont get much done. Love expensive foods LOL I always say I am a princess. I love King Crab!!! Caught fresh and thrown in the pot. Its amazing.
He brought the pieces out to the car that he fixed for my office chair and they are perfect! The chair slides right under the desk and is so comfy!
YEAH! The chair fits and its comfy!! Maybe getting the other chair will spur him to clean his office so it fits. But probably not. Men can be messy.

Time to get more coffee. Plans today are to do another challenge layout. Have a great day!

He got some of his mother's hoarding habits, I am afraid! That being said, my hoarding of craft supplies is collecting, not hoarding! ;)

Good morning ladies. Just got back from the doctors and dropping off Darrell to the ER. Doc suspects blood clots (from surgery) which is why D started to get worse after being better for a week or so. They'll run test today and I expect to get him tonight after they start blood thinners. If everything goes ok, if overnight then Jen will go get him b/c I leave first thing in the moring for my 2 day birding trip with a friend.

I've got to go pack for my mini trip while I'm home and things are quiet. Chat later.
