Yuck, it is cold and damp today. At least it is right now-- the forecast says it's supposed to get near 70* and rainy. Let it rain today and fill up the groundwater levels. Then I won't feel bad when I wish for no rain on the days I am teaching outside.
How was everytone's Wednesday?
I did a lil' bit of this and that. Scrapped a challenge and got a Fingerpointing GSO for it ♥
I engraved a small area on my hiking stick, I added a few flower outlines, a couple of swirls, and my name. And I worked on the lessons for Lauren who sounded very happy I did them. She is always so busy coordinating *everything* so I hope this at least gives her somewhere to start. She's been doing this forever and knows all of this stuff inside and out. But in my experience, it's nice not having to think about it, just to do it. There is a planning meeting at work on Sunday and everyone was asked to bring some ideas of what we would like to see for future programs and plans. I might work on some of the eco-anxiety plans I researched a month or so ago. Write them up in a coherent fashion.

Caitlyn is coming back at some point late today or tonight, it will be wonderful to see her. Usually, I am texting her pics of the rats non-stop when she is away and I can't get upstairs this time around. I went allll day yesterday with not one text. That might be a first. LOL

I'll probably spend more time staring at my bird videos. I sent a bunch to Scott yesterday. Birds do some really funny s*** :floorlaugh:

On that note-- have a great day!

That video cracked me up so dang much! I just loved thinking about what was going through each of the birds' minds. Scott called him the dark-eyed jerko, since he was all :rollingpin1: LOL

Yup, that is what my days have consisted of.

On to personals :)

I have some of the red bellied woodpeckers too- note whoever named them doesn't know anatomy at all.
For sure! I have been keeping my eye open for the pileated woodpeckers. They are so dang impressive-- and loud.
Cait is like me, hates the cold and she *always* is ready for an island vacation, trip to Buffalo or no. Speaking of vacations, if you are going to be traveling on Rt 80 in NJ, the sink hole repair keeps getting longer as they are finding more instability underground. Just a heads up for when you head up north.

@BrightEyes The wind blew our recycling can over yesterday but it was nowhere as bad as by you. Be careful out there!

@Cherylndesigns Be safe as well. I keep seeing posts on FB about tornado watches, hope that isn't near you. :praying2:

Kay, I don't know if "enjoy" the time with DD#1 and SIL#1 is the best way to phrase it (it's not), but please know that I am sending you my love.

I feel the pain. My grandson turns 16 on April 21st. He was waiting till midnight on March 20th so he could schedule it. I don't know where that little boy went either, he's 6' 5" , well last time I saw him anyway.
My nephew has been taller than me for years now. My goodness, thinking about getting the sweetest baby snuggles with him so many years ago makes me very sappy :D
After yesterday's snow, I didn't trust the roads this morning at 4:30 so I stayed home, had a cup of coffee, and rode my bike for an hour through Italy. Weather was beautiful there. The bike has been lurking right behind my computer chair being neglected all winter, well longer even, but I got more serious about losing weight before we went to Key West and so have started riding my bike on days I don't go to gym. I get to travel lots of cool places without getting on a plane.
That sounds like a perfect plan!

Good Morning everyone! It is chilly here this morning, but no rain in site for today's hike. It will be a nice easy one through some very pretty forest and well groomed trails. The perfect hike for my DH to start off with. Hoping he gets the hiking bug and will go to the hikes with me, weather permitting of course
How fantastic! I bet it was wonderful for both of you to hit the trails.
Our kids and grands are all getting together at Easter to have fun at Great Wolf Lodge in Niagara, on the Canadian side, they went last year and had such a great time,
Cait was excited to go to the Falls, we had never been. She was saying that the Ca. side is supposed to be so much nicer. I was teasing her that I wasn't sure if she should take her passport and make a run for it. If it weren't for Tom, she might have considered :floorlaugh:

Mark gave the guy $400 in labor to round up the charges, which is quite low for the number of hours he put into finding the problem! But Mark is going to take his car in for a new clutch and will give him more at that time, too. We want to keep the guy happy! ;)
That's so smart!
Nothing else going on today. I want to run to the church this afternoon to check on the mail. I'm looking for the bank statement. I like to confirm all of my numbers before we have our business meeting tonight. I'm pretty sure my numbers are correct, but I'd rather be 100% sure.....not that they would excommunicate me or anything! ;)
I am terrible with numbers, they mean nothing to me, so I would be obsessing if I had your job. I'm sure you did it perfectly.
Oh Pot, I didn't over do it though that is what was annoying!!! I only did half the cleaning and did lots of sitting between. I sat almost all of yesterday and still didn't sleep well. Like you pancake butt is thriving. I've sat and sat and sat and still the sleep isn't great. I think. its from all the sitting.
:rotfl: I feel your pain and frustration.
Gray and chilly, but David is out in the yard doing spring stuff. Yesterday he said he wanted to go to the nursery and get some plants. I reminded him that we're still a month away from being able to put them in the ground and he grunted and grumbled but I think I convinced him to wait until we get back from our Easter trip.
I feel David's pain and frustration as well. I get that itchy green thumb and want to clean the gardens and plant things and we have to wait until May 15. :thud:
Mom drove herself to her high school 75th reunion Monday, about a 2 hour drive. I haven't asked her how many are left from 75 years ago! We were nervous about her going but she seems to have survived.
Omg!!!!! That's bonkers! Here I am worrying about my dad driving 2 miles. she sounds like one tough lady! ♥
Wrote this and then lost it, grrrrr... :beatingheart: :sad1::thankyouspin::heartpumppink: I hope you are getting some good support, but it sure doesn't feel good when important people disappoint. I read SO much those days and luckily it was nice out so I sat outside. Now in NJ? Not-so-much.... :heartpumpred:
"thankfully," she and I aren't friends anymore, although I think of her often. We were very good friends in middle school and HS. Lost touch for a year or so, then back friends again later on in college. She was in my wedding, and that was kind of the last straw. She was very drunk and told everyone that Gary was hitting on her. For real. What happened was that she fell into the window and he tried to catch her from hitting the glass.

My BFF that I talk about all of the time, she is the sister of my heart. She isn't going anywhere .

@deej I loooove your puppies!!! :dancingdog:
And your socks. Very cute.
The tornadoes sound absolutely terrifying. I am glad that you were safe and your nieces too.
All of my fingers and toes are crossed that your DH gets his interview soon.

hugs to you all!

Damp and cloudy here today too.
Show us your walking stick!
Yes, birds do some crazy stuff! So fun to watch!

Yeah, plus we can pretty much depend on him to get to our vehicles pretty quickly!
I love working with spread sheets! If you get them set up with the right formulas they practically do the work for you. I love setting them up!

Quick in and out this morning.
Heading out to pick up Ilene and go to save-a-buck and no telling what else.

Dreary weather today. Hopefully any hard rain will hold off while we're out and about.

Have a good day!

Quick in and out for me this morning. DD#1 and hubby's flight should be landing about now. They had a couple of stops to make on the way to my house. DD#3 will be heading down here in about 2 hours. Her son is off today and will stay with his dad so she can down. Just got a FB post that DSon#1 and wife are about 4 hours away from DD#2's (they are driving there). And DSon#2 and wife will be arriving there in a couple of hours, too. So glad that the boys and their wives will be with Leslie. Don't think I will be back in here until after the weekend is over.

I just posted a LO in A Whimsical Adventure - Change of Seasons Challenge. So nice to have Anja doing monthly challenges now. I have a couple more LOs that I worked on this past week to post once the collection is released. Scrapping those helped pass the time and kept my mind busy.

Good morning ladies. I think I'll be driving over to the hospital today or tomorrow. D is so stubborn but I think his tiredness and flushed face is another Crohn's fistula starting up and it always requires a hospital stay to take care of it. He is putting it off this morning but at any time he'll say its time to go. I don't blame him, at the hospital he has to wait hours to be seen and his last experience was not pleasant with the staff so I'll leave it to him to decide when and what to do.

I'll be out to mahjong later if I'm not taking him to the hospital. We got another couple of inches of snow last night but it'll all melt by the end of the wkend when the weather warms up considerably.

I'm going to go create a few jewelry pieces now. I am trying to stockpile so I'll be ready for a market in the next month or two. I'm a little late for spring markets but I might make it into one or two if I can be ready soon. I also need a few more display stands so still have lots to do.

I'll chat more over the wkend. I'd better get things done now in case I have to leave with D.

Kay, I am glad all your loved ones will be together to draw comfort and support from one another for this sad event. Keeping your mind engaged with scrapping is so helpful in passing the time. Take care.

Hello Ladies.
@BrightEyes Kay I hope this weekend is a step toward healing and Im glad you will have your DDs with you. So glad the boys could be with your daughter in her time of loss.

Today is a do nothing day. Even with. sitting several times yesterday, it was still a lot of standing. I was very achey in my feet and my ankles were swollen but it was still less pain than in in the past. We have three more weeks of dinners and then I have a 3 week break before the next surgery. I've blocked my calendar off for three weeks post surgery so I remember to not schedule anything during that time.

Well, need to grab more coffee and my mind isn't really awake yet. Have a wonderful day!

More craziness here...I finished my bromelaid garden so now it is water daily if the irrigation isn't on that day. I did some scrapping last night.
Today I went to Walmart to pick up a few things and had 4 phone calls while there that sure goofs up my train of thought but I do l think I got all I needed.
Yesterday heat records in Tampa and maybe again today. We are an hour away but it's a little cooler here because of the breeze off the Gulf of Mexico. Going to meet some of the ladies at the pool today as i'ts really warm and sunny. Tonight my friend is having a remembrance party for her hubby who passed a year ago. Family is here from Mass. so I have to make some food to take over.

@BrightEyes so happy you will have more time with the family I hope you can enjoy it.

@AK_Tracy Glad you are planning to take it easy for your next surgery...we will see how that works out. LOL. People like you are hard to hold down.

@faerywings That bird video was hilarious...I agree birds are funny I sit everyday to watch the water birds we have in our pond. Every day is different so I love it. We do have Pileated Woodpeckers in our trees around here and I love seeing them, they are rare and shy. I bet your daughter will love being out of Buffalo.

Got to go to the pool now then get ready for party so that is it for me today. Ill try to get back tomorrow.

So nice that you are all going to be together to support each other during this difficult time @BrightEyes !! Sending you my love and deepest condolences to you and your entire family!

A quick :wavinghello:from me today as we are about to walk out the door to go and install the Kaya Arm down at SIL's dock, its a sunny but another chilly morning here. Then later today we are meeting up with SIL Veronica to help her pick out a new lawn mower, so she can start working on getting the lawns cut. She did not want to have to deal with the gas lawn mower that my brother had and I can't say as I blame her. We tried to convince her to just hire someone to do it, but she loves to keep active and so we will help her get a ego lawn mower that runs off of batteries. They are amazing! We have one and so does FIL across the street. That's another thing that is getting done this morning, the cutting of FIL/MIL's front and back yards. No shortage of things to keep my DH busy that is for sure! Yesterday's hike was wonderful and it was great to be out in the sun and fresh air! Sorry no time for personal, so hopefully tomorrow will be a less busy day. Oh I just remembered I am going for a pedicure with SIL Linda at 1:00 pm tomorrow. Sheesh always something, but it will be nice to be pampered a bit. Have a wonderful day everyone! :lovey3:

@AK_Tracy Glad you are planning to take it easy for your next surgery...we will see how that works out. LOL. People like you are hard to hold down.
WHAAAAATTT?????? You think I wont take it easy??? That I'll over do it?????? Nooooooooo not me!!!!! :floorlaugh: :whistle2::haloslip:

I'm gonna try and being summer it will be easier or so I think.

I worked so hard yesterday, it's hard to remember I'm retired! That old feeling of almost-aching back after sitting in front of the computer all day. But I did write a newsletter for the Trails Crew and learned how to make a popup on the Chorus web site for a fund-raising project. I am hoping to get a challenge done today, since it's kind of rainy so no bike ride. At least the forecast for Saturday in DC keeps getting warmer and less likely to rain, so my protest day is looking like it will be more comfortable than anticipated.
I'll probably spend more time staring at my bird videos. I sent a bunch to Scott yesterday. Birds do some really funny s*** :floorlaugh:
I have become totally addicted to the eagle camera from California with two new babies. I'll put Youtube on the TV and watch it while I'm doing stuff around the house. They are so fun to watch.
This afternoon I thought we had two plump doves sitting on the fence around the blueberries. They seemed so contented just sitting there watching me. Then I looked closer and saw that David had left his work gloves outside yesterday.

we will help her get a ego lawn mower that runs off of batteries. They are amazing!
On the trails we use string trimmers a lot. I hate the gas ones; I cannot start them by myself. We got a couple electric ones and I love using them! Quiet, easy to start and stop, lighter. There is the issue of recharging the batteries, since we don't have power in our Trails Crew storage shed, but we just bring them home and charge them in the garage. When it comes time that we have to replace the mowers, I hope we can get electric ones. There's a bit extra cost because we need extra batteries -- no fun getting stuck with a dead tool a mile from the trailhead.

I had more stuff in the quotes to put in but my computer hung up and I had to reboot it and I lost them. But I'll make more tomorrow.
