Uh-oh. Mother Nature is mad at me for always ****talking about the weather and today, she is making me suffer. :giggle4:
Guess what the temp is right now, 6.48 am?

38*

It has not been 38* at *any* point in the last month or so (that might not be accurate, never quote me when I am being dramatic) but today, the day I want -- no NEED-- it to be cold, nope! My weather app is also taunting me with the alert bubble saying that we will be getting 3" of snow tomorrow. *pounds the table* The ONE day I need snow... :bawling:

At least the curriculum is ready to go, Lauren (my "boss") said it looked great and we are only going to have 11 kids. All good things. So we have to work around the lack of snow. I might still have ice cubes in the freezer there, we can use those to do *something.* And our sad frozen suncatchers-- not gonna be frozen, are they?

Still no updates on who I am working with on Sunday. I'll stress over that tomorrow :D

HAGD!!

Quick question-- Have any of you used cayenne pepper in your bird feeders to keep squirrels away??
I filled the feeder Wed afternoon since I knew the weather was going to be awful Thursday. Before noon, it was empty and a pile of seeds was on the ground. The squirrels- obviously- keep getting up there and dumping it. Yelling at them or setting off the alarm through the app does not faze them in the least. Scott is having luck with Cayenne "flavored" seeds so far *knocks wood* but I just bought a big bag of seeds. Can I mix in cayenne powder as I fill it up?
@mimes1 @scrap-genie

As long as I am tagging in Amy, I hope that Erinn is better too! ♥
You are so right, Chris... I should not have pushed myself but couldn't stand looking at the dirty kitchen floor. At least I stopped there and didn't do the rest of the tile floors in the bathrooms and entry hall. Will give the back/shoulders a few days rest before tackling those areas. Already have a "spinal replacement"... sort of... 5 surgeries with the last one having rods and pins put in. I am using the heat in the massager unit to relax the back instead of taking meds as I have taken a lot of NSaids in the past.
How are you feeling today, is the heat working?
Thankfully, I didn't have to work yesterday, Cait was remote, and the roads were a little better by the time Tom had t o go in.
Ahh! I see that you rested so you'd be ready for the Book/DVD sale! You should bring a rolling cart today :D

I'm with you Chris, BAD NJ weather at the moment with the icy rain. Grrrrrrr... I was reading an article last night that referred to us expect a few more snow/storms in the next week. It was titled, "NJ's Parade of Storms". Not happy here! :cold:
Nooo!! See this is what I mean, I needed snow for today and today only. Why, Mother Nature, Why???? *shakes fists at the sky*
Stay warm and off the roads if you can!

We are supposed to get a bit more snow, but hopefully not too much more! My arms are sore from shovelling already! We do have a snowblower, but our driveway is far too steep for me use it. I can snow blow down, but can't get the darn thing back up the hill :giggle4: . Anyway the driveway is clear of snow now and DH has my car again, his truck is buried under two or more feet of snow. I feel like a prisoner on my own home!
uggghhhh!! That stinks Trudy! I hope that it warms up so the snow can melt, at leats off of your car so you can get out and about. Or at least *know* that you can.
Yay for getting a page done!!! Is your mojo coming back?

@bcgal00 How is D doing with Mahjong, is he picking it up as quickly as you did?
*fingers crossed that you get to see the northern hawk owl!* that would be so cool. Scott is trying to get me to go to an owl walk and talk he is running next weekend. He knows I'd love it but also knows that it is past my bedtime (it starts at 6 pm LOL) and it is going to be cold. So unless it is unseasonably warm and I can go on my PJs, he understands I am not going to show up Ha!

I'm afraid to say it but we are having another stellar day it's sunny, light breeze, low humidity and 85 degrees. I hope all of you in the terrible weather will soon be done with it.
That sounds *wonderful!!!*
:beach1:

I hope that you get to visit with your friend today. So many healing thoughts heading out to her.
That is the coolest thing that you did maple sugaring in your yard! We get a lot of people who come to the programs and ask how to do it. It takes a *lot* of sap to get a couple of gallons. How many trees does DS tap? It must smell so good at his house when he does the boiling. I love that he is carrying on the tradition :)
Life got away from this morning and I didn't even do anything. I worked out and sat in the sauna but not sure what else. Waiting for DD to drop the grands for the afternoon.
Sound like you did just the right amount ♥
I didn't have any :wine4: last night, too tired to enjoy it. Maybe tonight, *G*

My promotion was finally announced which means I don't have to keep it quiet any more. I'm so excited for this progression of my job! Still waiting to hear on hubby's interview.
Still sending good luck vibes to DH.
Tom hasn't heard anything yet from his interview on Sunday. The waiting is terrible. :/
YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!! I KNOW YOU CAN!!!
I appreciate this but I am not so sure hahah~

Qwirkle madness,
:rotfl:

Love and hugs, O-zies!!

Morning, all. Up early to take a shower :showering: and get dressed. Not sure if I am up to running errands today.. the whole body is talking to me still. << sigh >> The Book and DVD sale at the library will also be on tomorrow... if I don't make it over there this morning. It only runs from 9 till 12 both days.
How are you feeling today, is the heat working?

Wish I could bring a rolling cart but it is not allowed... only hand-carried bags. Although the room is quite large - there are a lot of tables and lots & lots of people. It is a squeeze by as people fill the space by the tables. I usually go more for the DVDs than for the books... as if I don't already have enough books!!! :floorlaugh: Hardback Books - $3; paperback books - $2; DVDs - $1 to $3 (series). Sure can't beat the prices.

Uploaded 2 LOs from new releases uploaded this morning. I should look at the other challenges and maybe work on them this weekend. Then I need to put my thinking cap on and figure out what I will do for the March Challenge I will be hosting.

The heater just shut off so it warm enough for the shower... HAGD

I have never had any luck with the cayenne pepper. The best thing I have had luck with in keeping the squirrels TOTALLY away from the feeders is a product from Wild Birds Unlimited. It is a bit pricey, but the birds love it, I love it, and the squirrels HATE it! I am a member, so I get 15% off. If you order $75 they ship free. I think the link is the store I use. There may be a store near you.

Good Morning!
I am taking a pj day today. I will be doing some laundry of Mark's in between ATCs and hopefully a challenge or 2. Never did get to that last night.
Mark is working on stuff around the house today. Working on changing out a water heater element at the present. So I will be using cold water for some of his clothes but won't wash his work clothes until we have hot water again.
It was 51* already when I got up this morning! It has been so warm this week that some of the bushes, etc are coming back to life! So I imagine some of the farmers are beginning to get worried about their crops!
Nothing else for me!
HAGD!

I'm mad but I don't know who to be mad at. When we were in Florida, I ran over something big and hard on the interstate, that made a loud noise when it hit the bottom car. When I got home a couple days ago, the check engine light came on, with a message to see the dealer. So I did. Turns out whatever that was that I hit damaged part of the emissions system and and an axle, to the tune of $1500 to fix. Oof. Not happy. But there was really no way to safely avoid the big thing in the road, so I don't know what I could have done differently.

And then. last night I started hearing strange clicking noises from the fireplace. What the heck? It's gas, with a remote control to turn it on, and it started trying to turn itself on. About 10 clicks, then stop, a couple minutes later 10 clicks again, and on and on. Thank goodness the gas was still turned off from our trip, so nothing happened. David took the batteries out before he went to work at Habitat today, and he'll look at it later. But really, just weird.

I guess I'm paying for our nice time in Florida. I'm going to do nothing today but read a book and work on my photos. The laundry can keep and there are leftovers in the freezer.

Good Morning!
Quick in and out today. Which makes me want a burger from In n Out. Not much happening here but laundry and picking up the house. @Terri M that sounds horrible. I too would be mad and yeah not sure who to be mad with. Glad the gas is off so you dont have to worry about the fireplace. @faerywings Christ still cant believe youre begging for snow. You know what's gonna happen right??? You'll get it soon and it will shut things down. Murphys Law. @BrightEyes Kay I hope your body feels good and youre able to go to the library sale. Running to get more coffee and then maybe start the first load of laundry. Dogs whining to get outside. Have a great day!

Good Morning everyone and Happy :friday: I am on my iPad this morning, the kitchen is like an icebox and that is where my computer is. I am sitting next to the fireplace with a warm blanket and having coffee with my DH. We are having a real cold snap and it is -7C which is very cold for this part of the world! It is my Gary’s flex day off and we have a few things to do today, one of which is to get his truck out from under all that snow. That should be fun right?? :hahano: I am heading off to my fav craft store this morning to look for some pretty cardstock to make a special 90th birthday card for our Aunt Betty. She is such a lovely lady and I want to make a card that is as special as she is. I did manage to get a layout done for one of the challenges yesterday, it took me all flipping day long to do it! I need to post it here and around digi land today at some point. I never did make it back for personals yesterday, I was too busy going crazy with my scrapping. I will attempt to do that now.
Uh-oh. Mother Nature is mad at me for always ****talking about the weather and today, she is making me suffer. :giggle4:

You have to talk nicer to Mother Nature!! Sorry you are not getting the weather that you were hoping for, but I still can’t believe that you are asking for snow and cold! Oh and yes I think my mojo is coming out of hiding, hopefully it picks up speed though! Can’t help you with the bird feeder, we won’t put one up because of all the squirrels and then there are the rats that come too.
Morning, all. Up early to take a shower :showering: and get dressed. I hope that you are feeling well enough to get out and go to the book sale today, if not then tomorrow. Hopefully the crowds are not too large, but with those great prices, its no wonder its busy!

How often do you have to order your birdseed? Do you get a lot in your order for $75? How nice that the special food works to keep the rodents away, I wonder if it would work for rats??
It was 51* already when I got up this morning! It has been so warm this week that some of the bushes, etc are coming back to life!
Could you send that warm weather my way?? With these cooler temps it will take a long time before our snow melts and I am tired of looking at it already LOL.

@Terri M - OMG that is awful that you could not avoid whatever it was that was on the highway!! Hope that it won’t be a huge expense for you and now trouble with your fireplace?? Sounds like it is trying to light the pilot light, which is very strange! Things usually happen in threes, but hopefully that is not the case for you today!

@AK_Tracy - Waving Hi to you and hope you have a nice quiet day and get the :laundryline: all done in record time!

Ok off to the shower and then I need to make a list for groceries and the other things we need today. Hopefully I don’t leave the list at home this time :giggle4:. I think I will put the list on my phone and need to start always doing that! :waving3:

Good morning ladies. I was busy with family chatting this morning and then got started on jewelry supply organization after checking on a plastic drawer system on marketplace. I wanted to be sure it was something I could use b/c I have a bunch of them already but once I checked what still needs to be put away and organized, yes I could use another one. So now I have to leave in 45 min to mexican train and still need to get dressed and take Remi out.

Had fun last night, 18 of us went for dinner. Got home around 9:30 so Remi wasn't thrilled with me. Good thing I don't have much planned for the wkend, she needs some time with me.

@faerywings Would you feel better if I told you that your temps are warm compared to ours??? we're almost at mid day and it is still only at 7 which is warm compared to the last few wks. We Albertans are a hearty bunch LOL. We have to be!

@vickyday Enjoy your jammie day.

I'd better get going. Busy day. BFN

Hi everyone! I know I do not take part in this chatting much but I think Marilyn @MariJ pops in here at times. I wanted to share my latest Calendar page for 2026 which is in the gallery HERE

Lately I have been doing a lot of caring for my neighbour who had a stint in hospital with suspected stroke but it wasn't - a nervous breakdown. She had a lot of stress happening in her life. Bad relations with another resident in our Retirement Village and deciding whether to put to sleep her 9 year old dog, Cricket who was passing lots of blood the last couple of weeks. Thankfully with going to hospital her son was informed so he drove 5 hours to get to her and took over the job of taking the dog to the vet. He is paying for the cremation which Trish could not afford.

With my Ken and I no longer being involved in the local Craft Store, I have more free time which worked well with what I have been doing for Trish. I have started to attend a lovely group of older ladies who meet once a week for craft. We just sit and chat while doing whatever craft we want to do. They are lovely ladies and have made me feel so very welcome to be part of their group. I am working on crocheting a round baby blanket to make use of Milk Cotton I had for making the baby sandals I was selling in the craft store. When the blanket is finished I will give it away which is what another lady does with the blankets she crochets.

Hope you all have a good weekend.
