Love my O Family!

I've really enjoyed reading everyone's stories about the origins of their screen names ("nom du scrap" my husband says sometimes jokingly). Thanks, Olga, for posting this.
My name choice was pretty straightforward. My grandkids call me Granny and I live in Florida. Pretty non-creative, right? :D But I like it because it describes me and one of the main reasons I scrap. My real name is Diane (Hi "Madi") and if I ever figure out how to add a signature, I'll do that.
I'm sooooo glad to FINALLY know what your real name is, Diane! ;)

I think FloridaGranny is a really cool name -I get this image of a realy cool active 'gangsta granny' zooming around the pool snapping pics of her grandkids and then sitting down on a sea-view terrace with a glass of wine to scrap... I imagine your last name isn't Smith - because GrannySmith would be just too cool of a name... of course, you'd need a Mac then...

As for the signature - I've just looked through your gallery... anyone who can get their software to do that kind of blending and shadowing can surely get through instructions on how to add a siggy. so I guess you've just been busy creating pages...

This has been fun reading! I had no creativity when it came to choosing an online name those many years ago when I signed up at all of the digital scrapbooking sites, lol! My married name at the time was Day, so my very creative online name became vickyday! Sometimes it ends up as vickyday13 at other places because I had to go to #13 when signing up for a gmail account! Who would've thought there were so many Vicky Day's in the world! When my husband died in 2017 and I remarried in 2018, I decided I was NOT going to the trouble of changing everything from Day to Whittemore, LOL! (Is it bad to still feel like I am Vicky Day in my heart after being a Day for 41 years? He really was my soul mate! I still miss him every day!)
Vicky, you may not have intended this, but your username is very uplifting and super positive - it sounds like every day is YOUR day and that IS something in this day and time.

Thanks, Olga! I love your image of me and admit it's actually not far off! But sadly, I'm not Smith, :D. Thanks for pointing out the instructions. Sometimes I just need to be led, LOL.

How fun it is to read about all those names! Margje is how my favorite aunt and then after she started with it a lot of my family members started calling me! Because I am very small and the " je " stands for making things smaller in the Netherlands! So the Mar from Marianne and then the je to make it smaller! Now the aunt and a lot of family members passed away so it is extra special to me!

My name "Nightshadow" came about because I used to stay up until the "Wee" hours (3 or 4 a.m.) nightly so I could surf the Internet with no interruptions. Can't stay up past midnight anymore, but it was fun while it lasted.
I think many of us used to do that... expecially when we paid for KB and the night tariff was cheaper... Nightshadow is a very cool name... like one of those super heros... I really like it that your usename has a connection to who you are

Oh, those sweet nicknames that remind us of the days long gone... you have a very meaningful username!

I love reading all of these. Mine is so generic and when I thought to change it and be something more original it was too late. When my daughter was in kindergarten, I connected with the "room mom" and we became fast friends. She would host scrapbook nights and a group of us gals would get together and scrap hardcover books while our kids played. It was a wonderful experience. I made my first scrapbook at age 18 for my drummer brother who's career was taking off. In fact, I was always trying some new craft or hobby. Making things with my hands was so much fun. My job was the opposite of creative so my brain thrived when doing something creative. My daughter became ill and I didn't take pictures for a few years but missed scrapping. I felt an urging to look into digital scrapping. It was so magical the way it happened because no one told me about it but I dove head in and found a place and community that was so lovely and fun. it continues to be a source of love, support and joy for me.

Mine is not quite so interesting. On most sites I am Susan-s3js or some variation of it. Susan, is me of course, but the whole stood for Susan and the 3 Js which were my ex John, and sons Justin and Jason. I guess I really should find a new one since our family is no longer the same, but it's so much trouble to do that! So maybe not!
