The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
I am staring at the screen right now. I am not sure if I am going to write a lot or just a sentence or two.
I guess I will have to see what comes out of my head.

Scott gave us some really sad news. His best friend's younger brother was killed in a car accident overnight. Do you know the couple that he hangs with all of the time, the ones that they went camping with? It was Sam's brother. I am devastated for her. I need to make something for her, some food. But my god, I am at a loss.
My mind is going in a ton of directions, and one that I don't want it to go to is the "what ifs." So like trying to keep a song from getting stuck in my head I am attempting to keep different thoughts rolling around so I can't think about it. It's like whack a mole.

Yesterday was an easy day, worked in the morning, caught up on paying bills, laundry, and stuff in the afternnoon. Made a delicious dinner and then we watched 2 episodes of What We Do In the Shadows and LMBO. That is one of the funniest shows EVER!
I am going to the FP this morning and then I have to start packing this afternoon- I printed out my list and now I need to do something about it. *G*

Hugs!

Eva-- I know it, I have to rebuild all of the good, organized habits again. As soon as I get back from the Shore, I am going to do it. :p
No, I am serious, I am going to get started today, but I know that it is going to be difficult to stay on track this next week. I already have my planner filled in for today. As you said, it is a baby step.
Yay!! Congrats on all of those GC's!!! Glad that you had a lot of fun scrapping!

@taxed4ever Sheesh- did your neighbors really think that they could ignore/cover the leak up??
Enjoy the long weekend and Happy Birthday to your brother.

@Cherylndesigns It makes me so sad for Lila, it has to be very confusing that she can't see. I hope that Adrienne's ex is able to look at her and see if he has any suggestions.
Yup, the LO is in the Gallery and I think that it came out good- Gary is so cute, I love him. Drives me bonkers on occasion but he still makes my heart flutter. (Might be a cardiac condition but I am going with love) LOL
Scott and I were going to work on the lawn this afternoon but I am guessing that he is heading over to Sam and Ian's after work. Hope that it isn't too hot for you to get outside.

$40. Oh my Gawd.
That is a great price!!!! I know that NJ has a higher cost of living but $40 is amazing. The smaller house I clean is 2 BRs, 1 Bath and I charged $50 and they recently gave me a raise to $60. The other house - I only do the 2.5 baths, floors, and surface kitchen stuff and I started at $60 and now get $70. And get this- because we are all friends, I charge waaaay less than a service like Merry Maids would.
Enjoy the deep-cleaned baths! I love that she is a dog person and will give Daisy treats too.
I used to clean for a family that had an Irish Wolfhound and she was amazing and gorgeous and HUGE! It was hard to clean around her sometimes because if she didn't want to move, there was no WAY I could move her LOL

Love to all of you!!

Quick in and out - I am still around. My sister arrived on Monday, her grandson and Girl Friend on Thursday, then her son and other grandson on Friday for several hours. The son was picking up the Grandson and GF to take them up to visit with other family in the northern part of the state. My DD#3 came down for the day to visit. It was like a pre-Covid family visit with lots of laughter, sharing of family stories and hugs all around. My sister is leaving today to head back to Texas.

When it was just DD#3, Sis and myself - we started talking about the office and my plans for moving my computer in there. Had a brainstorm and told DD that I wanted to get rid of the huge corner desk out of there and get another smaller desk. As we talked, I realized that I could move the desk from my craft room into the office. So plans are underway for DD to come down next weekend to help me sort out stuff in the office. She will have her 2 sons come down the last Sunday in Sept and move out the old desk, put my desk in there and haul off the old desk. In the meantime, it means sorting and clearing out the stuff in and around both desks.

The back is still 'iffy' but seems to be improving slowly so can't do much at any one time. DD laid the law down that I need to wait for her to the lifting and hauling stuff. Think we got a workable timeline and plans without stressing my back. Will be glad to make the shift into the office which has always in my 'future plans'.

Chris, I am so sorry to hear about Scott's friend's brother. How tragic...

I need to take time later to read back and see what I missed this past week here at the O... then will do some personals.
Have a great weekend everyone.

We just got news that the accident happened *literally* around the corner from my house. Sam and Ian drive that every time they come here. We will be driving past it every damn day
This sucks.

Oh Chris @faerywings I am SO incredibly sorry and I SO know the "what if's". I don't even know what else to say. You're in my thoughts (you all are). Love you, Girl. Sending virtual hugs. {{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}

Kay @BrightEyes sorry your back is still barking a bit but it sounds like you've had lots of wonderful family! Enjoy!!

Eva @tanteva does your hubby have any funny hobbies - I definitely think he should take up knitting - Chris @faerywings great cartoon.

Enjoy your Sunday, everybody. We have a family birthday party tonight. Ava is 21 today!!! I cannot believe that!!

Another busy weekend for DH and myself, but just wanted to say @faerywings Chris what tragic news about Scott's friends brother and how sad that all of you will have to drive by this place all the time! Sending gentle hugs to all of you and deepest condolences to the family!! :(

Good morning. I feel like I am just staring at the screen again. Not sure what to say.
The kids had a really rough day yesterday but they got through it. They had each other and Leah and Tom. The 6 of them are so close and I know that will help. Sadly, Leah, Tom, and Ian all lost their dads and have had way too much loss already. But they have good souls and hearts filled with love and they will help Sam get through this. There was a candlelight vigil last night for him. The driver of the car is ok, the other passenger has broken bones (legs and possibly neck, but I am hoping that it is collarbone, not neck). He is my friend who I clean for- her DD's ex-boyfriend. The driver must have been speeding because the car flipped 6 times. Dan and the injured kid weren't wearing seatbelts.

PSA: Always wear your seatbelts people!!!

Cait and I ran to the FP and then she needed to see Scott. We were only a few minutes away from one of the county parks he works at so she called to see if he was there, he wasn't but said for us to meet him there. They just hugged and talked. Then Caitlyn climbed into the bed of the work truck which he said wasn't allowed. So when a family came into the lot, she ducked down so they wouldn't see her. It took them forever to get out of the car and to the trailhead. They were not sure if the car doors were locked and went back and forth to check. The mom walked more slowly than the rest and she doubled back again! Cait kept popping her head up and looked like a prairie dog. That made us laugh.

I was planning on getting the majority of my packing done but I was only able to get that started. I made Sam and Ian a batch of banana muffins and was smart enough to put freezer bags in the basket with them. Apparently (not surprisingly) they have more food than they know what to do with.

I am hoping to get some more packing and laundry done today (and yes, the washing machine is still leaking but only occasionally and the dishwasher still turns itself off but if we reset it it will work again for a bit). Ya think I need this mini-vacation? *G*

HAGD!!

Kay- it sounds like the visit with your sister was just what you needed! Glad to hear that your back is improving slowly. We are all standing on the side with DD#3, don't you dare move anything! The room is going to be wonderful once it is all set up.

@tanteva Haha!! I can see you standing over your yarn stash with the knitting needles held like knives if Urban came too close to it.

@Cherylndesigns Happy 21st to Ava!!! How was the party? Thanks for the hugs too.

@taxed4ever You can always tell it is a weekend when your Gary has you working hard! I hope you had some time to sip some wine on your deck at the end of the day.

Wishing you all a great day ahead. Thank you all so much for the good thoughts and support. xo

Good evening all.

Chris @faerywings the party was super fun! It ended up being a surprise for Ava - it was fun to meet her boyfriend's family who were last-minute included. They're SO sweet - we all hid and Ava and her BF walked in and she said "What the heck? There's nobody here". LOL We all jumped out of the kitchen - it was very old school but fun. I didn't take any pictures - I just enjoyed myself, but others did. I was surprised to see all the pictures that turned up today. I was even in a few. I was SO bummed because the photo book I ordered for her didn't come. :( But I made her a fun present and wrote a poem for her about the day she was born. She couldn't read it because she was afraid she'd cry, but Adrienne read it. I wrote it on elephant shaped paper - Ava LOVED elephants.

A side note - I lived in Florida when Ava was born and they lived in Michigan. I had my whole trip all planned out and wouldn't you know it? she decided to come early. I almost made it, but as I held a newborn Ava, I said, that I'd hold this over her head someday - that she couldn't even wait for her Cici to get there. She burst into this life and hasn't stopped "living life out loud" ever since.

I'm still thinking of you and your family so much, Chris. @faerywings

Eva @tanteva you just made me LOL. I KNEW you'd come up for air on that one. I can just see him with a trail of yarn and the cats playing in it. ROTFLMAO

Happy Sunday all! Chuck (the Chief Cook) has a big pot of chili cooking and the gang are coming over.

Hugs all around.
