The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Friday the 13th-- does anyone think this is a bad luck day? I don't, generally speaking, but it is a bad day for tattoo artists all over. I don't know how or when it started but the Friday 13th tattoos are such a bad idea all around. It was a big thing when my kids were in HS. Tattoo shops would do $13 tattoos, you would pick a small, basic tattoo flash and they would tattoo you as quickly as possible. Lines would be out the door because it was a first-come, first-served. The main reason I know as much about this as I do is that a stupid ex-boyfriend of Cait's has two of them. My big rule to my guys when they got/get one (Scott doesn't have any, such a rebel LOL) is to make sure it has meaning. (Also -- no names of SO's-- never a good idea- kids' names are OK, they will always be my kids, always.)
Now that I know Tom, I feel even stronger against these. The artist has to rush through them, they have to be mind-numbingly boring, and are not going to be representative of their best work. Add into that-- how much money can they make? Tom's shop charges $31 and he only gets a portion of that.

That was my soapbox rant of the day. :D
Have you missed them, it has been a while!

I made it through food shopping somehow but I still feel like I don't have any food for dinners. It is going to be hotter today than yesterday so no point in putting the oven on. blerg.

Today is back to my friend's house to clean, maybe pizzas for dinner would be good. What a way to use an extra bit of cash LOL
This weekend is the air show- the tiny airport by me runs this every year, they have old planes to look at, there is the show part where they do tricks and have a wing-walker usually. It gets loud as they fly overhead. Not as loud as the boat races they used to have on the lake. The lake has a seaweed problem so that hasn't happened in a few years- that would make me crazy it was so darn loud. I am so old and cranky when it comes to noise. hahaha!

Hope everyone is great!
Hugs!

@tanteva What a bonkers weather day! The hail must have been bizarre to see on the grass like that.
Is it cooler today?
My mom called me to say that she saw weather radar that showed a storm coming and to be careful. I looked out the front door and blue skies, clear as a bell. Went back into my office, looked out that window and the backyard was dark and the trees were whipping around. I had two weather patterns depending on the window I was looking out. Nature is weird.
Have a fantastic time catching up with your friend!

@Cherylndesigns You would have made a very cute "nurse." And you would have been nicer to the patients that that nurse was, I am positive!
That is the key, not yelling when the driver is learning. That said if I had a dime for every time I "braked" from the passenger seat.... bwuhahahah!!!!! Parking lots are really bad. It is "Jersey tradition" to never, ever use your directionals, and I didn't very often until I taught the kids. But parking lots, I use them all of the time. People are the worst in them.

...
Just spoke to Scott to see how the fair parking job went last night-- I rest my case. People are the worst in parking lots. SMH! :D

Sorry about the song in your head. :p

Kay- that was really smart to turn around and come back home instead of running to the base. What movies did you get to watch? gentle hugs coming your way!

@vickyday Great news, glad that you are feeling better!

xoxo

I'm in a really weird mood today, not sure what it is. Like I don't want to do anything, not in a depressed way, rather an annoyed way.

But - I know what I'm making for dinner today LOL. Bought some chévre yesterday, and will make some kind of baked goat cheese toast with walnuts & honey. Will be divine ... I hope.

@faerywings When I have absolutely no idea what to make for dinner I always make a simple spaghetti dish. (Made it yesterday, cuz I was in the same happy mood yesterday). Just fry chopped onion with ground beef (or in my case vegan ground "beef"). Spices: salt, black pepper & garlic powder. (and when using vegan "beef", you have to add some kind of BBQ spice or Knorr Aromat to make it taste "meatier") Then just mix the fried stuff with boiled spaghetti (better a bit over cooked than al dente for this) and serve with Heinz ketchup. (One could use other ketchup, but that would just be completely wrong LOL)

Took a photo of my dinner yesterday, will try and see if I can figure out to post it here from my phone in a minute.

Now I'll crawl back in under my rock ;)

@faerywings
Chris, it is not unusual for me to wake up with a headache. The left side of my head begins to feel stopped up as soon as I lay down at night, especially if I lay on my left side. So, I try to always sleep on my right side, but it doesn't always happen. Most of the time the headache will ease up and go away within an hour or so upon rising, but other times, not so much! This, too, shall pass!;)

Eva, did you get hail at your house? If you did, I hope you got pictures for scrapping! ;)

95* in the shade here in NC today, Chris! OY VEY! I had to get out in it whether I wanted to or not! For some reason my DH likes to eat, lol! Stifling!

Do you eat Heinz on your eggs, too, Eva?! I rarely ever do ketchup on anything any more. I'd rather have BBQ sauce! NOT on my eggs, however! Although, I've never tried it! Hmmm??? :) :)

I remember our teacher in school desperately trying to teach us kids that "ketchup is a spice, not a sauce" LOL

Of course I have ketchup on my eggs. Fried eggs, that is, not boiled (which I have mayo or just salt on). I don't eat as much ketchup as I used to, but I guess I'm eating about 80% of all ketchup consumed in this household. Lol

Hello all!

I logged on hours ago and never typed a thing. LOL It's been that kind of day. Happy Friday the 13th. Adrienne and I went for pedis today - really needed one. Right before we left, I dropped my phone on my left big toe (on the edge of the phone) and my toe is getting SO sore. How do you drop your phone on your toe you ask? it takes talent.

Chris @faerywings I might have made a cute nurse - I should have given it a chance. One thing I knew I NEVER wanted to be was a nurse (hope I don't offend anyone by saying that) but it's true. I didn't know WHAT I wanted to be but I knew I didn't want to be 1. A nurse 2. A secretary and 3. A school teacher. Again, no offense intended. (Or as they used to say on Seinfeld "not that there's anything wrong with that". ROTF

Weather here? The wind just picked up and it sounds really bad. The trees are blowing so hard. Yep, just look at the weather app and a thunderstorm is heading in. I'm glad we got home before it opened up. 91 degrees currently.

Interesting posts about the tattoos. We went for coffee and I just happened to pick up a tattoo artist's business card in the coffee shop. Coincidental, huh?

Vicky @vickyday hope your headache is letting up. I hardly ever have one either, but when I do, it's a doozy.

I did get a layout done for a challenge (multiple photos) but now I have to find all of the links and post it. I'm pretty happy with it - we took a lot of family pictures that I'm happy with so it was a good chance to use some of them.

I'm going to get busy and try to get my page posted. Everybody stay safe - no Friday The 13th freaky stuff.

Hugs to all.

We love ketchup on eggs! People go "blech" but we like it on eggs and mac and cheese.

Me again. @faerywings Chris, yes, I'm thinking about a tat. I still want 2 - one on my left wrist to match the right one and my kids' birthdays on the back of my neck. Ava's planning her next one. She designs her own, but I'm not sure what she's working on. She says it's going to be "big".

I agree with the advice you gave your kids. Adrienne told them that they needed to be able to cover them up if they went for a job interview (for example). She's an HR Director and even though she has several tats, she says they don't make a very good impression for job hunting. Ava and Jordan are the only kids who have them and of course, "Jordan The Rebel" didn't follow her advice. He has them on his hands and he's had lots of customers (he works at Lowe's in Michigan) who have made complaints against him. His boss recently told somebody that he was such a good worker that they overlooked his tats. Boom!
