The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
I screwed it up again, every year, I think that Arlene's b-day is the 18th and every year I am unprepared since it is actually the 17th. Yup. Today. I have her gift but I still need to make a card and put it all in a gift bag. Normally that would not be a big issue but I am working this morning and she and Leah are picking Scott up at our house probably while I am gone. I have to make that for her as soon as I am done here.

Super quick this morning- My mom and I had a nice time together and we booked our shore trip! I was surprised that it is all done since usually she likes to think about it for a while. She has very specific needs- can only be on the first or second floors since she doesn't do elevators and she couldn't get in the whirlpool bath/shower combo last time we were there. I was willing to sleep on a sofa bed but she didn't like that option. There was one room in the entire hotel that is on the second floor,2 queen beds, and has a stall shower. Only two different date ranges in Sept were available and once was on Cait's birthday. So we are going to be down the short on Sept 7-9. Now we just have to hope that she stays healthy, that no hurricanes come through and that COVID doesn't come back. (She is very smartly buying trip insurance this time, just in case)

Today I am cleaning then meeting up with my friend across the street with her DD and Caitlyn. The girls grew up together and Dani now lives in FL. She is up for the week since her brother graduated HS on Tuesday. It will be nice to see her, it has been a really long time and she was/is like a second DD.

Hugs!

@tanteva how are you feeling today? That cardigan is very nice-- how long would it normally take you to finish something like that?
That is too funny to find those "working on" files. I shudder to think about my "style" from 2007!

@Cherylndesigns I am so happy that you are feeling better and that you have been up to scrapping again. your plants will be very happy too when they hear your voice :)

@felis I am feeling utterly behind too - very disorganized. I hope that you have been able to get a bit caught up. I try to let her go on a bit, it was a good thing for my mom to be away from my dad even for a short time and to focus on something different.

Pretty stitch, Eva!

Hugs to you all xoxo

I don't know how long it will take to make that cardigan. Quite a while, I think, cuz it's cotton thread and a small needle. On the other hand, it's an easy stitch, I don't have to count and concentrate that hard. I just have to watch a couple of soccer games, I guess. LOL Saw one movie tonight and I got about 1,5 inches or something like that. But then I'm starting at the bottom and work both front and back at the same time.

I'm not 100% okay here. Not very ill, just sore arm and joints and a bit tired. Slept on the sofa last night, cuz hubby was getting up early and I wanted to read. Turned out that was a smart thing, cuz I don't sleep on my left side on the sofa (don't want to get suffocated by the backrest). Hence didn't wake up from the pain of landing on my sore arm.

Woke up to some craziness, though. Apparently we have some kind of government crisis brewing. We'll see what happens. Stupid that grown up ELECTED people can't act like normal people and behave. Not getting into politics, but we'll see what will happen. The prime minister is holding a press conference soon.

I'm really liking the book I'm reading now. I think I told you about it before: Beach Read by Emily Henry. I'll probably finish it today, if I don't get caught up with something else. It's about two authors who both are having severe writer's block and challenge eachother to get writing again. Cute story, with just enough hint of darkness to satisfy me.

Going to be another scorcher today.... woke up at 7:30 AM and it was already at 80*!!! Yikes!!! The A/C was running late last night so guess it didn't cool off much. Just remembered to put the towels on to wash... they are asking people to conserve energy later on during the day when the demand is high due to to heat and A/C use. And, yes... the smoke is back with us again. There is a gold cast to the light due to the smoke and the mountain is barely visible. Definitely a stay inside day. Making another batch of Chicken-fruit salad this morning. It is perfect for these hot - don't want to cook - days. BTW... have to pass on a tip my Sister gave to me - to keep celery crisp and fresh. Cut off the leaves/tips and the base of the stalk and rinse the stalk well; pat dry. Gather it all back together into the stalk shape then loosely wrap in aluminum foil leaving the top end open; store in crisper bin in the fridge. It has been almost a month and the celery is still fresh and crisp - and tastes good with a crunch. No more limp celery for me now! LOL

Chris, it is so easy to mix-up dates of birthdays, etc. I almost forgot that yesterday was my Mom's birthday until that afternoon. She has been gone since 2014 but this was the 1st year I almost forgot her birthday. Glad you remembered Arlene's day in time. Glad to hear that things went fine with your mom and you got the reservations made for the shore visit. Will keep fingers crossed that it all goes okay this year and you can actually go. <<< hugs >>>

Eva, you are wise to work both front and back of the sweater at the same time. That way you know that they will both exactly the same length. I usually do that - and also do both sleeves at the same time. That sounds like fun book to read. There is a long hold list on it at my local library - so it will be awhile before I can get it.

Cheryl, glad to hear you are feeling a bit better. Take it easy and let the family help out while you recover. <<< hugs >>>

Trudy, glad to see you pop in and hear how you are doing.

The chicken breasts are cooked so time to chop the rest of the ingredients and get it put in the fridge. Hope you all have a good day.

Hello my lovelies. I feel so much better today!!! I'm SO happy - I slept ALL night (after having a bad night the night before). I took my cough medicine right before I went to bed and I didn't have to get up and take anymore! So far, the coughing hasn't started up. I really think I "turned the corner". Thank you ALL for your concern. It's been 2 years and 4 days, but who's counting? LOL

Chris, I'm so happy that you got your trip booked. Let's try not to think about Covid coming back! We've all been through such a terrible time - it's time to live again. I found out last night that my #1 grandson, Cameron, is coming for the 4th of July!!! I'm SO excited and just MAYBE that pushed me to feel better. He's 23, but still "my boy". We've always been super close and he still calls and texts me. He's still living in Florida. I can't wait to see his face and get one of his bear hugs.

Kay, sorry you have the smoke again and it's so hot there, isn't it? It's pretty hot here, too, but thankfully no smoke.

Eva, I missed your post, but is your arm sore from your shot? I had a pretty bad reaction to my 2nd one and couldn't even lift my arm. I had trouble getting dressed and undressed. Hope your arm gets better soon.

Hugs all around - Chris, have fun with your neighbors today.

Yes, I took my 2nd shot yesterday. My arm is still a bit tender, but it's way better than yesterday. Today I've been laying around on the sofa reading most day. Tired and a bit sore joints. Been trying to scrap, but everything I do look like a 3 yo did it. Better wait til tomorrow. LOL

I'm glad you're a little better. My arm stayed tender for quite a while. Yes, best to just take it easy. Hugs
