The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Hello, and how is everyone? I hope that you all are doing wonderful! I think I am doing pretty good myself this morning. It's really cold right now, frost on the cars cold- but the sun is out, it isn't windy, and is supposed to get neat 60* this afternoon. And.......... my back feels 99% better! (if I am being honest, it is closer to 90%, but I am going with 99% - call it a typo or somethin' :p ) Big plants today--clean up some of the leaves and sticks. After I scoop the lawn, of course.

What did I do yesterday? Laundry, dishes, FP for the Easter dinner bag. They were able to get me chicken. Woo hoo! They offer a turkey or a ham but we don't eat them and Scott has been wanting to eat more protein and I can cook a whole chicken even if it makes me gag. Meat should *not* come with bones or look like an animal. Blech!!!!!! Anyway, I asked if they had a chicken, I would prefer that and they did. We also got a loaf of homemade honey wheat bread that was delish! Since I was getting even more cans of veggies and fruit, I asked my neighbors if they wanted any so I dropped off a bag for each of them.
Poor Caitlyn had a really rough day. Her laptop doesn't charge anymore and Gary can't fix it himself. She has been using an old laptop of Scott's but then that one kept crashing. She had 4 meetings and 2 classes that she needed the laptop for, plus a bunch of assignments that needed to be uploaded. She was so stressed. I hope that she has a better day today.

I scrapped a bit in the afternoon and tried crocheting a lizard for my niece. I don't know what I doing wrong but I cannot seem to get crocheting in the round to work right. Since it is still going to be cold in the morning, I am going to go over the videos that I shared a while ago and see if I can figure it out. I must be counting stitches wrong but it isn't making sense in my head.

Not much else happening... hope you have a wonderful day! Hugs!

@vickyday I do a lot of container gardening, some in points and I also have a 4' raised planter bed on my patio, and 2 small raised beds for veggies, one in my front yard and the other in front of the patio.
herbs do the best in the pots, especially since they like the sun and I don't get a lot of that. I like to put the tomatoes in the planter and Gary will put up a metal - sheesh, I don't what to call it- two poles upright and a horizontal one across the top with twine staked to the soil to support the plants. There has to be a word but if it is in my brain, it is inaccessible ATM haha.
I have tried peppers and didn't have luck with them but I have done cucumbers and pole beans. I was getting so many cukes that I was making jar after jar of pickles and giving them to whoever wanted them. My luck with the squash/zucchini/eggplant was hit or miss depending on how they pollinated and they did better in the bed over the buckets.
Oh yeah--the tomatoes that did well in pots were the cherry and grape. The regular ones were in the planter.

Lettuce also did well in pots but I never had enough plants to harvest enough at the same time.

Overall, I think that was my biggest issue- the quantity was either too many or not enough. Or it might have been the birds and chipmunks eating stuff before it was ready to be picked? :) Either way, it was more a hobby than a food source in the end.

Good luck!

@taxed4ever YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats to Heather!!!!!!!!!!!! Please tell her that I am thrilled and am wishing her good luck! It sounds perfect for her that she can work from home and that she can make her own hours. Fantastic!!!
So sorry to hear about the schools possibly closing again. Our new CDC Director had a pretty powerful statement yesterday that the US is looking like it is entering its fourth surge. I don't get people, is wearing a mask that difficult?
What is Easter Pie?? I had to have talked about it before. [big grin] Italian Easter Pie is a meat and cheese pie that is made differently around the different regions of the country. My mom's family is different than my dad's. She makes it with ricotta, ham, pepperoni, and bologna diced up. My dad's moms' was very dense- with slices of meat and provolone cheese. It is called Pizza Gaina.
You make it on Good Friday but you can't eat it because of Lent. My mom would make a bunch of them and one would be eaten Saturday morning and another saved for Easter. I know that I don't eat red meat but it is mostly cured meats and they don't count bwahaha!!!!
I love the idea of making and bottling your own wines- it has to be a nice time for you both. :)

@felis- oh yuck all of the issues you are dealing with. As you see up in my post, Caitlyn is dealing with some of the same computer issues but she's trying to not have to buy one. How aggravating that the repair guy gave you so much trouble
I need to have some sort of schedule for my emotional and mental health. If I am feeling adrift, I can get sucked down easily which is why I need to have a to-do list and know what day it is! Depression and anxiety are always lurking around so I know my comfort levels and stay on top of them. Does that make sense?

better get my day started too! xoxox

Morning ladies... I am late getting in to this part of the O this morning. I have however been spending some time behind the scenes and figuring things out there. I need to get some coupons made either today or tomorrow. Well our province is shutting down a bunch of things starting today. No more inside dining, no indoor group fitness, no indoor church services and no travel except for essential need. The ski resort in Whistler closed too. For at least 3 weeks. The numbers are climbing high and people just don't get it, we need to social distance!!! Hello?? is anyone listening?? Apparently I can still go to my lap swimming, but I am feeling a bit scared to do so. I will see how it goes today I guess. I am sorry but I am so upset by this news! I may never get to see my kids and grands again!! Feeling too down to do personals today, but I hope that you will all have a nice day!

Good early afternoon.
Trudy, @taxed4ever I'm SO sorry that you're too down to do personals. This is just awful and it HAS to be gotten under control. I know the vaccines are going to help but it takes so long to get to everybody. I'm not sure it's going to be very soon. I just try to stay in my bubble. We did go to that state park yesterday but people definitely social distanced. The only places that don't are planes! They're petrie dishes and they're packing them just like they used to!

Chris, @faerywings I'm SO happy to hear that your back is 90/99% better. Sorry about Cait's computer though. They're such PITA's when they decide to die. I swear, things are only made to last 5 years anymore - and that's IF we're lucky!!!

Beautiful here today - not as warm as last week, but it's 72 right now. I'll take that for the end of March!

Waving to all and sending cyber hugs.

Hello ladies! I’m here and alive. I am sorry that I didn’t let you know that I was going to be MIA...but I didn’t think that I was. First, the doctor changed my meds for my diabetes and it definitely caused me some problems while I was adjusting. I kept working but then I had absolutely no energy left. I think I am now back on track there.
And then, in the midst of that, I had computer issues. Ugh. I have that straightened around now, so I’m back in. It looks like I’m not the only one with computer issues. Although, I actually wrote this post this morning and then never Posted the Reply. I'll tell you, this old age, topped with a move across country, topped with a year long quarantine...I sometimes wonder about myself.

Now to personals....and then after personals, I'll go change my avatar...and who knows how long that will take me. Hopefully only a couple of minutes.

@taxed4ever I am so sorry that you are shutting back down. That has got to be so very hard to have all of those things shut down again. What are they saying about vaccine availability there?

I worry about Florida...all mask mandates have been lifted. And, of course, that worries me. If we are outside and socially distanced, then I don't feel the need to be in a mask. But if I'm at the grocery store, etc, I still want a mask. Even though I'm 3 weeks post first vaccination and the studies right now seem like that is pretty good immunity already. Next week I will get the second shot and then I'm very hopeful about how that turns out.

@Cherylndesigns I'm glad that you are still having great weather. We hit 90 over the weekend and tomorrow will be 86, then it dips down again with lows in the 40's over the weekend. I am ready to go to the upper 70's and lower 80's for awhile. And when I say awhile, I really mean a couple of months. LOL...that won't happen. But if I am dreaming, I'll dream big.

Thanks, Chris! Yeah, I definitely won't depend on what I do to supply everything we need! It will be more a test to see if I stick with it! That is my biggest problem.....I tire of the project easily! That's why I don't do well with flowers, either! They have to be hardy to survive! ;)
