The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Who on the East Coast is ready for some heat? It is going to be hot hot hot in NJ. I think that everyone who has their power back on is going to be very happy to have the AC running. The flip side is that the people that don't have it are going to swelter. I hope that there are very, very few people in that position.

I had such a nice visit with my parents. The weather turned out fine, it looked like it was going to downpour right before they got here and Gary and I looked at each other like "Now what?" We figured that they would come inside and we would sit far apart with the windows open and fans on. Th ecloubds blew over and it was nice outside.
My mom looked really good and seemed much more like her old self. Thank goodness because my dad told me that she almost died. Another couple of days and it would have been too late. Her kidneys were performing so badly, the medications were becoming toxic. I knew it was bad, but not that bad. I wish she wouldn't keep that from me but I am not going to say anything to her about it. It has to be hard enough coming to terms with that for herself. The last thing she needs is a lecture from me. But darn it, I need to hug her.

Scott, Leah, and Cait went to a friend's yesterday. They live on a lake and Scott brought his inflatable rowboat. They went on the lake in their boat and he and his GF went out in theirs. It made me so happy that they did that. The weather was perfect in the afternoon and I know that Caitlyn really needed to socialize a bit.
I didn't do much of anything- I fought with the ShopRite website. I went to edit my order at lunch time and it had already been sent over to the Shop from Home shoppers. I had to call and cancel that order and then start fromscratch. Usually, the orders are able to be changed up to the night before so I was surprised. I hate this

So that is going to be my morning - and then this afternoon is the washing machine repair. Please let him be able to fix it! Last time, they had to order the part and it took another week to be able to wash anything.
It is going to be very hot and humid, so I might limit my yardwork to deadheading some of the flowers in front.

HAGD!!!

Kay- I am so sorry that the family stuff is still an issue and I am sending another round of good thoughts to all of you. It is good that your BP is staying steady and that you are keeping a close eye on it.
My mom is going through the same thing with her hair. She got cleared to get a haircut from her Dr but we have all told her to not go to the mall to get it done like she usually does. She is going to try to get an appt with the barber that my dad goes to. Her hair it still too short to put in in a pony tail so it is just flipping around.
I think that is how we are going to have to do it when the weather doesn't cooperate and we have to SD inside. Not sure how that will work in the winter :(
Gary is such a *huge* Halloween prop guy. One year he started working in Jan/Feb and he built an animated skeleton band- the Boo Frighters. He even rewrote three song of the Foo Fighters to match the motions of the moving skeletons. That was so impressive. It is even more since he literally rips apart old motors and machines and builds it all out of scrap.

Cheryl- you are such a cute CheeryO Girlio!!! :)
The charity is such a fantastic idea. My kids both had several friends who were homeless due to addiction and sexuality/gender issues so I am grateful of them and you. The charity is doing so much good helping those teens who need it and how fantastic that you are helping them as well- the world needs open-hearted and generous people like you.

Nancy- you ready for the heat? Is Luther under the AC yet? If you guys went for a walk, I hope you did it early. Does it feel strange watching hockey when it is 90* outside? Hope that the games were exciting!

good morning - well I could not tell if I was walking or swimming when I went for my walk as the humidity was so high. My DH got Luther out near sunrise and now he is in the basement. We have the AC on thank goodness. On my walk saw a couple of doe eating. I talk to them which is probably a bad thing as I don't want them to think humans are good during hunting season. They don't hunt in the town but there is a park near that allows bow hunting in the fall. Hockey was awesome. Except for Trudy's MG as his Bruins still have to win a game. But the Columbus Blue Jackets defeated Maple Leafs so now the two bubble cities Edmonton and Toronto will not have their own teams playing. How weird is that. The play offs start on Tuesday. Again I am a happy camper. Today is a day to finish Longmire. I am in the middle of the last season. Got a lot of scrapping done so that too made me happy.

Chris I am ready for the heat. My DH still thinks he is a young buck and was out in the heat doing yard work. Came in feeling terrible and drank a lot of water and gatorade and then went to bed. Poor guy. Even today he is not feeling that good. So please take it easy outdoors. Glad you had a nice visit and the weather stayed nice. Your Gary is really a mechanical genius. Hope the washer can be easily fixed.

Kay hang in there with family stuff. Sending good thoughts and hugs.

Cheryl glad to know that we know the priority is having enough bathrooms.

Trudy saw the page of whales. Awesome.

Have a great day all!

Good late morning ladies!! It is a bit cooler here today, totally opposite of what you are all getting out East. I was MIA from here yesterday, but had the nicest day! It was a beautiful sunny warm day and so DH and I spent just over an hour cleaning up the back yard. The leaves from all of the trees in our neighbours yard all seem to land in our yard :mmph: but the blower and the lawn mower do a good job of getting them all cleaned up. Everything need a good drink of water and some trimming, so no it all looks good. Well until the next big wind that will blow more dead leaves off the trees. If our bad neighbour behind us would just give his yard some water once in a while the trees wouldn't be so stressed. Anyway after that we had a reservation at Averill Creek Winery which is directly across the lake from us, up on Mount Prevost. We have lived here all these years and have never been there :loco: A gorgeous spot where we allowed 90 minutes for our wine tasting outside in a tranquil setting! There was a great little Italian food truck there called "Ciccio's Cucina" I had an amazing salad with smoked tuna and DH ordered the salad with salmon and brushetta. The wine was tasty and we could have stayed there all afternoon. Here is a photo of Averill Creek we sat where the circle is drawn but half of the other tables have been removed because of the COVID.

Ok where was I ... oh ya anyway Heather and the boys are great, they are tired from their long trip home, but all went well and the boys were good little travellers. Now they will settle into their routines and new normal (whatever that will be). Mason is not looking forward to going back to school in September if that happens, but I am sure he will be happy to see all of his friends again. Daycare might not happen for Hunter as they have cut back on the number of kids, so he is low on the totem pole right now. Today I will work on getting another page done and then I need to wash the car and go for a walk, its been far too long since I got any kind of exercise!

Chris - Sounds like a very warm humid day for you and Nancy! Heather too although she says it just doesn't feel like the same hot that they had in July. Guess the weather is changing everywhere as we slowly move into the Autumn months. How the heck did that happen already???? I have only been to the Lake to swim twice, its not fair!!! Ok I will stop with the hissy fit, after all you haven't been able to get out at all where you are. I know we are spoiled here, but I am thinking that this fall COVID might hit us hard and we will be having a bad second wave! I am so happy that you got in a good visit with your Mom and Dad, but how scary to think that she was very close to having her body completely shut down!! A wake up call for her for sure! How nice that the kids got out to visit with friends and on the lake in a boat, how cool is that!! Sure hope you have better luck with your grocery order today! What a PITA it is for you!! They really need to do something to improve the system that they use! Hope you are staying cool and safe today!

Nancy - Ughh on the high humidity!! I don't know how you can stand that! Your poor DH!! I know what it is like to have heat stroke and I think that is why I can't tolerate the hot humid weather at all. I was so sick and had to be put into a tub of cool water to bring down my body temp. Not very much fun at all!! DH will be happy to hear that you are cheering for his Bruins, now if they would just show up and play some hockey!!! Perhaps they are holding back until this next round and then they will play better?? :noidea: I see that you have been very busy scrapping and I need to get to the gallery to comment for sure! Thanks for the nice comment on my whale page, I need to do another, so hopefully today!

Kay - Sorry that you are still dealing with family drama, it is good that you are keeping on top of the blood pressure though! Hope you get to have a haircut soon, but maybe you will like having longer hair? Sending you good thoughts that the family matters will clear up!

Cheryl - Well aren't you just the cutest CheeryO GirliO!! Hope that the move is going well and that you will be able to adjust quickly to the downsizing of the house!

Felis - I am so happy to hear that you are enjoying your summer and I hope that you continue to do so!

Wish all of you could be here with me to do the Wine Festival together, what a noisy, happy bunch of wino's we would be LOL. Have a great Monday everyone! Stay safe!

What a great picture!! Glad the wine was good and yay for getting out in The Great Outdoors!!

Ohhhhh, thanks for all of the Cheery-O wishes!! I'm starting to feel like one of the gang here! Glad everybody "seems" to be doing well - oh dang - how well can we be doing??? I'm SO tired of seeing Covid stuff and seeing masks on everybody. Is this our "new normal"? But I digress as Sophia used to say on The Golden Girls. I need a Golden Girls T-Shirt!

Chris, I know this must be so hard for you, but it sounds like they might be getting your mom's medication straightened out. Meds can be so tricky. Glad part of your family got to get outside and socialize.

We're SO happy to be able to help out this wonderful charity! I KNOW it's far-reaching and we're honored to be able to help them out. Teenage addiction is so rampant, as it all addiction, but this charity is totally for the kids. It warms my heart to think that some kids will be sitting on our furniture and wearing our clothes.

Thank you ALL for the good wishes for our move - I love all of your support!! Operation Westward Ho begins on or about August 23rd. That will give us a few days to organize the move before they head west. It will take about 4 days for our furniture to arrive.
