Yes, it is way to early for me to be awake on a Saturday. Woke up a little after 5. I don't understand why M-F I could sleep forever, and the days that I can actually sleep past 5, my body/brain won't let me. I know a lot of you say the same thing, and its soooo not far.
At least I was able to just lie there for a while, which was helpful.

Now I have a big pot of :tea: on and I am "enjoying" (appreciating??) a quiet house. Only one extra teenager slept over last night , one of my adopted DD's. Cait's friends ask me to adopt them, so i think i have at least 7-8 extra kids. Do you think I can claim them as dependents on my income tax form? One of Scott's frioends calls me "Other Mom." Can I count him as a half?

I really need to bust out the papers and file my taxes. Its not difficult, just time consuming. I hate adding up out out of pocket health expenses.I think last year we hit over $10,000 OOP. And to think we all have insurance. Speaking of insurance, I got my increase notice-- it is going up almost $100 a month!! For a crappy policy!!! So not cool. But what are the options? Can't *not* have insurance? smh....

So there ya have it, getting myself all worked up over money at 7 am.... LOL

Maybe I need to get some more coffee and do a gallery run to change my perspective. Look at some pictures of my nephew... he is so darn cute!

xoxoxoxo!!!!

I am going to do quick personals before I get lost in the Gallery. :)

Laurie- hope that the storms stayed far away from you. Happy dancing with YMG!

Donna- enjoy the weekend with the help. Uh, I mean the kids LOL

Eva- you could never be a dull girl!

Phyllis- hee hee! I loooove my mom, she is amazing. She brought up a meatloaf, stuff for tacos, macaroni salad, peas soup for Gary, home made meatballs, a spinach quiche, and Italian bread/rolls. Plus she made chicken francaise when she got here. The woman thrives on feeding people. My kids love being around her and she loves those kids. She is dingy and goofy and rambles a bit, but she doesn't mind when we tease her about it

Oh-- if y'all didn't see it, here is the LO I did of her
matriarch1.jpg

She rocks.

Glad that you got to sleep in your own bed the other night, but that helps a lot.

Kristy-- cool photo- I love the colors!

Trudy-- hope you are resting up this weekend to get ready for the grandkids. It sounds like you are going to have a really good time, but I bet you will be exhausted too. When I baby sit for my godson, I am so relieved to go home and be able to sit down. LOL
Yes, my mom is awesome, and I am truly blessed to have her and my dad and my IL's. I couldn't make it without them, they are all so supportive.

Maureen-- no news is good news! Did Dick make it back ok and hopefully not too muddy and nothing broken? :D
Enjoy island city life!!

morning all, thankfully storms missed us. So today off to dance and then hopefully more painting in the basement, hopefully we can put the cabinets against the wall before the weekend is out! Then we can think countertop!!

Laurie, so glad to hear that the storms missed you. Just awful weather that we've been having so far. Iowa has missed it all but I don't look forward to the spring storms!

Chris, that's a lot of food that your mom cooked!!! She is amazing...but knew that. Otherwise you wouldn't have been so amazing.

So, I've been so in and out here this week that I don't think that I've given you all my news. I started Medifast on Sunday. My A1C numbers just kept climbing and we couldn't get it to stop. In January, the doctor added another med but it hadn't helped much. Well, the day after starting Medifast my numbers looked good and they have improved all week. So much that I stopped the new pill. And, I've lost 7 pounds. Now I know that the pounds won't continue to drop like that but if they continue to drop at all...and I can keep my glucose numbers in check...well that's like a miracle for me!

And Brian is going back to corporate America. He has been selling real estate for the past 10 years but the market has been so bad that he just hasn't made hardly any money. So, kids start day care a week from Monday. Going to be a big switch here.

I was afraid I'd lose my post so I saved...besides that, if you have seen what I committed to on the posting train for March (25,000), you would know that I need every post that I can get.

So, the last bit of news that I haven't shared. There were so many girls Sydney's age that went out for soccer that they created an extra team and then they needed an assistant coach. And since Brian's hours will be until 9 p.m. Monday-Thursday, he couldn't do it! You've got it...I'm the new assistant soccer coach! For those of you who don't know me, I had to get special help from a professor in college only one time...and it was for skipping (the class was teaching PE to elementary students)! I am a total klutz! Sydney said, "You mean I don't get a real coach?"

I'm sure that there will be both layouts and stories! Ok...need to check in on the gallery. Everyone have a good day!

Linda, congrats on your improving A1c! i don't know anything about Medifast except the name, and the "fast" part i probably wouldn't like.... keep us posted!

Chris, i want your mom. that's final.

Laurie, your energy always amazes me! and then you DANCE after the painting and furniture-moving!

just made an AnnaLift page which is a card. i'm actually going to do a hybrid project. eeep! gonna fill it with photos, just like Diane's inspiration piece, then maybe send one each to my niece and nephew. the photos will be of my mom, their Gramma. who didn't cook.

the sun is shining. the d*&^ cropws are making a racket, ive got laundry and ironing to finish. just a usual day here in suburbia. you guys have a good one.

good morning all....

I am in a SUPER GREAT mood today....last night i jumped on craigslist to look for a deep freezer...I have been looking at sears, lowes, home depot, best buy, etc...looking for one the cheapesst i could find was at sears and that was with shipping about 350 dollars...the rest were upwards of 400-450 with shipping and that was for an 8.8 cubic foot freezer...i really wasn't wanting to spend that much money on it....so i found a 14.8 cubic foot one on craigslist for 150 dollars!! and the pictures looked awesome super clean and no damage....so i called the guy up hoping he still had it and he did and he said we can come look at it that night (last night) so we did and we bought it!!!! this thing seriously looks like it was never used LOL it in perfect condition...apparently it wass his moms' and she moved into a nursing home and they didnt need it so he listed it on craigslist i cannot believe we got it for so little LOL now im ready to buy and slaughter a pig this year!! YAY!!! hahahahahaha will come in handy when karl goes hunting and gets me a couple of turkey....and possibly another deer!

ohh and to top off my super great mood...i lost another pound putting me at 11.5 total weeeeeeeeeee im SO CLOSE to my first little milestone just 2 more pounds til that and 6 to my goal weight

everybody's getting skinny in this forum thread!! i'm going to be the tubbiest of the participants if you ladies keep this up!

Phylis, are you going to do a layout of your new bedroom? What's the color scheme? All this talk is making me think that I need to do something with my bedroom...or I can continue to live vicariously through you. :-)

Kristi, you are doing so great on your weight loss! And what a find on the deep freeze!

Linda, my bedroom doesn't photograph well, but i'll try. i'm getting to the point where the color scheme in nearly every room of my house is beige and brown and black, with a little color here and there. it makes me feel calm!

Hi ... I'm so tired today, I hardly know my name (it's Gertrude, right?!? ;) ) Only one more day to work ... but tomorrow will be a really hard day at work. The actual Vasaloppet is tomorrow, so the Italians will be late for dinner (hence late night for us in the kitchen) + more "festive" food (hence more work for us in the kitchen).

Oh, baby, I'm dreaming of Monday!

Hi Ladies a quick :plane: for me just to say heh and hope you have a wonderful weekend!! Off to buy boots, if I can find any?? Still very wintery in Winnipeg and we haven't had snow for ages here. Gotta have good boots to take the Grandkids on the toboggan right?

Morning peeps...

Leaving Kauai around noon, after torrential rains early this am. I'm looking forward to the city life of Honolulu tho I am glad that once again we got to see the quieter, simpler life of the garden island. We had a fun night in Hanapepe's Friday art fest doing more eating than art shopping. Our house needs NOTHING so I only bought some local sea salt. I know my wants!

Talk to you later from Oahu where I believe we have wireless. Yea!

Oh Eva, I wish I could join you for supper tomorrow night. I think that I would skip the Vasaloppet and just go straight for eating!

Oh Maureen - don't tell my mom where you're at. :) She grew up in Hawaii, now lives in New Mexico. She does not appreciate the change of scenery. Lol. Every few years she and my dad try to go back, but he said it's always a struggle to get her back on the plane for the return flight.

I took the kids to see my DH today - long story. It was nice, but I had to take my nephew to haul the baby around because I'm still not allowed to lift/carry her after the surgery (full elbow replacement). After a couple hours, we headed back and I am already planning a big glass of wine with dinner.

Congrats on the additional weight loss ladies. Way to go! I am dreaming of a new wardrobe this summer. Last year at this time I was 9+ months pregnant, and last summer was brutal (mentally/physically/emotionally) so I am more than ready to get back to where I need to be. In all aspects. :)

For those I missed - have a great weekend! I hope I don't have to do ANYthing tomorrow. We'll see how well that works.

Oh Stef, I can't imagine getting back on that plane if I were your mom. Too hard to leave even when it is a vacation. Glad that you got a chance to take the kids to see your husband today. And a full elbow replacement...wow! I can't imagine how painful!

Actually, other than the incision and a little bit of nerve damage in my pinkie, it has been absolutely painless. I've had severe rheumatoid arthritis for over 20 years, so getting rid of the "sick" joint was a wonderful improvement. But, it has a weight limit of 5 pounds, which has been a very tough adjustment. Especially because I have an 11 month old that refuses to crawl or walk. :jaw:

Good morning/Sunday to you.

I had a pretty darn lazy day yesterday. I am still not feeling so good and I ended up taking a nap. I don't feel quite as exhausted today, so maybe that helped.

We have a new nickname for Catzilla. Muffin Loaf. LOL Cait and her BFF wanted to make choc chip muffins but I didn't have any muffin cup liners, so I told them to use the loaf pan. Which ended in hilarity on their part b/c they never heard the term "loaf pan." :noidea: We ended up calling it a "Muffin Loaf." Catzilla was rambling through, belly swinging, and somehow we said she looked like a Muffin Loaf. I guess maybe we thought it sounded bigger than a Muffin Top??
At any rate, Muffinloaf seems to be sticking. Poor cat, no wonder she hates me.

Hope that you all have a great day!

Laurie-- how exciting for the basement to be coming along! Between you and Phyllis, I feel like I need to get working on some of the projects in my house. Then I think of the energy is going to take.... and yeah... maybe not LOL

Linda--same to you and your mom.
Congrats on the weight loss and even better news on your A1c! Is medifast only good for Type 2 and/or insulin resistant people? Gary's A1c has been climbing a bit and he eats like crap since he stomach can't tolerate much.
Good luck to your family with the new job/day care routines. And hahahahah!!!! Sydney's line about a "real coach" that is too funny. I have to admit, I am so thiankful that my kids aren't athletic because if they needed me to coach, I;d be in big trouble.

Phyllis-- I am sure my mom would cook for you too. :)
ITA-- I don't know how Laurie does it. After dinner, all I can do it sit my butt on the couch!

Kristy-- good Craigslist catch!!!! And great job onthe weight. you are dropping lbs so fast.

P-- I am not getting skinny... I am gaining slowly but surely.....

Kristy-- look at that horizon! So flat! I live in the mountains, so it always amazing me when land is flat LOL And its not the Shore.

P-- sounds like a great color scheme!

Eva- ahve fun, Monday will be here soon!

Trudy- only a few more days till you see the g-kids!!

Maureen- are you chuckling that Trudy has to talk snow boots and toboggans while you are enjoying surf and sand? Hope you are relaxing and eating some more!

Stef-- I would be the same as your mom, you'd have to drag me kicking and screaming.
I don't know the back story but it sounds like you are moving into a better direction and I hope that everything is the best for you and your fam.
I can't imagine going through that surgery and not be able to carry more than 5 lbs. How long does that restriction last?

Love and hugs to you all!!

morning all - I may play hooky from church and weekend work this week. My inner brat is saying come on- you went in to play catch up 3 weekends in a row- I do not work well when there are other people in my shared office-some of my sensory issues interfere- I sometimes wonder if I am adult ADD- I can concentrate on things I love, treating kids, butpaper work not so easy- I did get my walk in and now I need to finish up the laundry putting away! MMG had to go do some work this morning. I should be thankful we will probably never be able to afford to retire because we would not know what to do with an entire weekend without work!!

Oh Laurie...your faithfulness to your walks both amazes and inspires me! And a person needs to have a little fun somedays.

Stef, I'm glad that the pain is gone. But, 5 pound weight restriction with an 11 month old...now that's got to be tough!

Chris, isn't it funny when you find out that they have never heard a term? I'm glad that I wasn't around because I think that Muffin Loaf would be a perfect nickname for me.

Today's tasks...Shaun has two books to read and write book reports on. That won't be fun. :-( Sydney has a soccer game (that isn't coached by me). I have a coaching clinic...oh my...need photos!

We saw The Lorax in 3D yesterday. The kids and I went with my youngest niece as part of Sydney's birthday celebration. The 3D seemed better than normal.

Other than that...not much on the calendar. Hurray!

okay so i wasn't home at all last night or this morning....so looks like i got some catching up to do!! anyways here is my march 4th picture of bedside-my camera is again confused on what day it is haha

Afternoon ladies, can't stay here long... too much to do today!! My sister is popping by to pick up all her cat headstones, she just got back from Barbados, Poor her!! LOL. Will be nice to hear all about her holiday! Have to make lunch and then laundry, and some cleaning. Hubby is finishing the bathroom painting. So will have to clean in there when he is done also. Hope everyone had a great weekend!!! See you all again tomorrow

Forever. :(

so sorry to hear that, hopefully you can lift more than 5 with the other arm!

Thank you. I'm trying to be very careful to take care of the other side so I don't end up with 2 new elbows. It is amazing the things I'd never considered that are more than 5 lbs. A gallon of milk. A jug of laundry soap. A heavy door. Pushing myself up off the floor and crawling on hands and knees are no longer possible. It has been a life changer, that's for sure!
