Its Monday again! Are we happy or sad? :decision: Right now I am neutral. Too tired to decide

I have to go to my new GP today. Its been a long time since I had a physical. I do see my lyme dr every other month, but I should get in for a check-up. blerg.
I really don't wan't to get on the scale! no, don't make me!!!

Not much for me to chat about this morning, so let me post this, and then I can do personals. :)

Me Me Monday..... well, I did a lot of scrapping yesterday, so maybe I should take a nap today. I most likely won't- I wake up worse after naps than I was before. Maybe I should just get myself organized for the week?

Sally!! I saw that on YMG's FB status. I am so happy it is raining for you! I would have sent you much of our rain if I could- but yay for rain in TX! And football...and Sunday worship... was that the best day ever for you? Love it!!

Laurie- have fun making jelly- that is something I have never tried. But you can tell that the weather is changing- I had a big pot of chicken stock going last night and today I am making gravy (aka Spaghetti sauce). it is really the only good thing for autumn weather-- cooking again!

Clara- I pray/send good thought all of the time too. I don't know anyone deployed ATM, but I know that all of our troops need every good thought they can.

Trudy- Lucky you and YMG for a date night!

Maureen- sorry to hear about 90 days of fish oil :( I adore whole wheat breads- do you bake them in the oven or bread machine?

Clara- yuck! No fair to have allergies that bad. Oh no-- Vince is back out again??? Why does it seem like he just got back??? How was dinner w/ Andrea? I miss her here.....

Gotta post this again- the kitty is back again. She is like a calico godzilla!!!

Clara- A Bug Fest- that would be perfect for Scott. Even at 15, bugs are so cool to him.

Maureen- I graduated from an all-girls Catholic college- yes it makes my head spin too LOL--but some of the nuns there ROCKED! Their order was the Sisters of Charity and to my limited first hand knowledge of orders, this one seemed pretty progressive. Habits optional. :p
Hope thta you had a blast catching up
w/ friends/

Ok, I give up.
I'll beb back when kitty-zila is not rolling on my tablet.

xoxo

Morning- I am looking forward to a day full of kiddo's. No scary big people (adults) on my schedule to start with. (for those who do not know- I am a pediatric physical therapist- well that is my specialty and sometimes, I have to treat adults) It is also going to be rainy and dreary- so I will wear my bright tropical shirt and pretend I am someplace sunny. Have great days everyone. Oh and to start my day off right, I have finished 2 miles on the treadmill- my foot is feeling better.

One more request- positive thoughts and prayers for my SIL- she is in the end stages of pancreatic cancer- it is ravaging her with extreme weight loss and bloating/growing liver, but the worse is pain, she and her family could certainly use all the prayers and energy there is. She has alienated people most of her life, including her only son.

you said it, Frani! where is the time going? i feel like i'm falling headlong into nasty winter. i just can't get that out of my mind. not that i love 100 degrees, either, but i don't think i'm ready for ice storms yet. i just saw that it's going to RAIN on my little vacation tomorrow through Thurs. WAH!

Laurie, it's so sad about your SIL. both her pain and her relationship with her son. prayers going out for some peace.

today looks like a day of running errands, laundry and making some food for my helpless (HA! who TAUGHT him to be helpless??) husband while i'm away.

have a lovely day, everybody.

Morning all!

Laurie - prayers sent. I spent a few months with a great PT team for shoulder issues - me and most every senior there that time. Think it's contagious??? lol There were a couple of interns going into your specialty and they really looked forward to working with the little chicks.

Chris - when my GP sees the weight or any such lifestyle issue - meaning one "I" could probably change - she usually says... "Do you think you could try...x,y, z?" While I am sorely tempted to tell her "NO!", I usually say yes, I could but knowing sadly that my interest is really feeble. I'm mostly talking about exercise. I hate to sweat. Always have.

I loved hearing you say 'gravy'. I sponsored a USNA mid who was from solid NY Italian stock and he introduced me to the phrase. I think he also said all pasta was 'macaroni'. Am I remembering that right?

My reunion was great. Some women looked so different, and even reading their names I thought I still don't really know them. We had 3 academic tracks, one secretarial, and one general. Sadly, back in that day, even if you graduated from a 4 yr college you still prob would end up as a secretary. The girls in 'general' really were just being trained to be functional homemakers and mothers.

Once again, everyone recognized me and said I looked the same. I don't see it but we really don't see ourselves the same way, do we? I heard a lot of funny stories about myself from various women, and think I will have to scrap what I can piece together. I don't recall being 'so good at math' but rather recall refusing to do the memory work of geometry. Algebra I liked but also refused to take trig. A lot of my refusal to do xyz has come back to me! a stubborn b*tch even as a teenager??? or just rebellion in areas that were safe? hmmm

Well gotta see what laundry dh needs done, as he got back from the beach yesterday, flys to Hunstville AL tomorrow til Friday, then we go to NYC! on Friday! He's got a jammed week. hehehe I don't. (At least I hope it won't work out that way.)

Fran, it really is just late late Sunday. We only call it Monday.

Phylis, where are you going? I also forget how far north & where you live? Focus on the light, on the light. I wish you a great fall. We won't discuss winter yet. btw, it still IS officially summer. Autumnal equinox isn't until ..the 21st?

Maureen, i'm going to a Bed and Breakfast in the "mountains" of PA. it's far enough from my house that it's "away," but it's not a killer drive. only about 2 hours. i think the winter weather where you live is different (a bit nicer...)from our winter weather. being west of the mountains, we get the moisture dump with every front that moves through.

late late Saturday. snort.:pound:

Morning all you lOvely "O" ladies!! Off to work again for a full day and tomorrow also then my hours have been cut back to my normal schedule. Off on Friday and heading to a wedding in Kelowna, can't wait, it should be fun as our side of the family really love to dance and party it up!!

Chris - hope your kittyzilla has finally stopped bugging you for attention. I bought a new water bowl for my old fart of a cat, he drinks water continually and so I got one that circulates the water and has a big reservoir of water. It is taking some time but he is getting used to drinking out of it. Hooray no more drinking out of the bathroom sink!! Crazy Cat!!

Clara - My son has been deployed to Trapani Italy, I guess if you have to be deployed that's a pretty good place to be!! He is only supposed to be there for 6 months, but we will see. It is hard to keep in touch with the time difference, but we email and he seems to be doing ok , although he is missing his little family very much!!

Laurie - So glad that your foot is doing better!! Did the doctor say what exactly was wrong with it?? Happy that you get to deal with the little ones again!! Prayers being sent to your SIL, what a shame!!

Frani - I feel the same way, it can't be Monday already

Phylis - Hope you have a wonderful few days away, despite the weather!!

Maureen - Glad that you had a good time at your reunion, must have been fun to see all those classmates again, at least the ones that you remember LOL.

Have a great Monday everyone!!

Hey, thought i'd hop in on this one because we have a 9 hour time difference. I can only talk to my Mom on the weekends and usually right about the time the kids are getting into bed. Def. a sad thing. I don't know where you are (my fam is on the west coast), maybe you only have six hours difference? Whichever, it does suck. Sorry about that! I am jealous of his location though. I'll be Italy didn't have freezing rain today!

I have been too exhausted to hop in here recently. I couldn't get myself mentally able to keep up with the posts, and feel bad chatting about me without responding to all of you. I wanted to join in today though because I realized this weekend, that the O is really starting to feel like home. I was browsing the gallery and realized I love the designers and their products being featured, I love the colors, I love the styles and I'm slowly starting to recognize names. Yay!

my day is over. Thank Goodness. It rained icy rain all day and today is the day my kids go to English preschool in the next village. I usually pick them up in my bike and pack them in the bike carrier, but DD has gotten too big and has to ride her own bike now.

I got outside this afternoon and it was so cold and so wet, I felt terrible for her and decided to give her a break. I WALKED. took me half an hour speed-walking and jogging mixed to get there on time and then we had to schlepp the bike on the bus home. But they enjoyed riding the bus (we did it illegally, can someone tell me how the heck I am supposed to lug a bike onto the bus with two small children, then walk up to the driver and buy a ticket without the kids falling over, the bike falling over or any other catasrophe happening?! If you can, I'll be sure to buy my ticket next time. :P).

Glad that's over for the week. Now to get through dd's regression phase. She's a mess right now, most likely due to her little brother starting preschool with her and being under her feet everywhere she goes all the time. i understand, but have no support system here, and don't know what I can do to give her some 1:1 time with me. Something that is just HER.

Anyway. done with all that. It's nearly time for bed, yay! Thanks for making the O such a nice place to be, ladies!

Oh Amber, I wish we could all be f2f support for you. It must be hard to want to give her that time but not be able to. Hugs!

Oh, yes you are. My fam is near Seattle. Easiest way to figure out what time it is in Italy? Count back three hours. So 5pm in Vancouver: 5, 4-3-2, it's 2am in Italy. 7am in Vancouver? 7, 6-5-4, 4pm in Italy. It's (IMO) easier from here, we get to count forward. :) I get good practice when we visit, instead of changing my watch, I count. a lot. My mom too, she never changes her watch when she visits, but that just confuses me, esp. when we went to Greece, which was another hour time difference from Germany! ;)
