CHEERY O
Happy Veteran's Day and a huge thank you to all of our vets and currently serving military. You are all very very appreciated!

I am feeling kinda brain dead today. I am 95% unpacked, and have no motivation to do any more. I have to go to the supermarket this morning and have no idea what to buy - in the way of "real" food- the kind I actually have to cook.... and then it is working from home this afternoon.
Sadly, I need to get back into my exercise routine too. We ate sooooo much at Disney. We had the Meal Plan and it was actually too much food! I will be on the scale/wii fit this morning. I don't wanna get on the scale!

Ahhh, the joys of real life!

any Temptations today? For me, a ToT would be to stay in my PJ's all day, hang out here at the O!

Be back for personals and :tea: in a flash!

I have a big pot off coffee and I am ready to share.

*pours mugs of coffee for everyone*

Petra-Thanks for the WB!

Meg- you do rock!!!

Clara- ugh- that sounds like a nightmare dr. visit. Isn't it crazy how the patients end up knowing more than the drs on some occasions? I can't take anything with psuedoephedrine or related meds- they wire me out badly. Hope that you can get those sinuses feeling better, they are the pits!
Thanks for the no noodle lashings- I was thinking of you again this year too.

Meg- hugs to you hon- you must be physically feeling so cruddy. Wish I could wrap you in a blankie too and bring you hot chocolate. Chocolates (and wine) are the best meds ever! YMG is a keeper!!!!

Yeah- i am a bit kooky in real life too (ok, more than a bit) but it was so nice to be able to laugh with these women. You'd think that a Women's Breast Center would have a more friendly waiting room. They have coffee and tea in the Main Waiting room, but in the "Waiting Room B/c There are/have been Problems"- nothing but a blaring TV.

Meg- how crazy that someone siphoned your gas. I remember back inthe 70's with the gas crisis everyone having to lock their tanks, but I didn't think you'd have to do that today. That's so sad.....

PS: Move to NJ- Jersey Girls don't pump gas. ;)

nana!! You wrote a novel! Yay!!!! Just think of how much exercise you are getting chasing after Miss S! Good for you getting some scrap time in- bet that felt great!!
So proud of you for making your appt. I wish I could go with you and make you laugh too :D

Trudy- oh man- how did you dislocate your jaw? That sounds awful!! Hope that it fixes itself soon. The splints don't sound like fun at all. :(

ME- you did all of your laundry the night before you left? Wow! You are GOOD! I probably should have. You should have seen us trying to squeeze our crumpled clothes back onto the suitcases.
How was your lunch?
Yay for YMG coming home!!!

Laurie- hi!! I was really bummed that we couldn't meet up. One of Cait's friends was there for a couple of days too- they live down the street from us and the parents are our friends too. Every time we got in touch with them, they were at a different park. then we'd switch parks and they'd be at another different park. So close and yet so far.

Better get going and get the kids off to school.

xoxo

Good Morning ladies :)

Meg...that stinks about the gas.....I am always finding myself wondering why people have to be so mean....and stealing things that others worked so hard to pay for theirselves.

TRUDY!!!! OH YOU CAN BE MY TEMP SISTER!!! I WOULD LOVE THAT

Clara....I hope you feel better....whole new set of allergy stuff in a new climate...you might want to talk to the dr and see if you need to tweak your shots any. I hear you on the docs not listening though...UUUGGHH!!

Yay for Meg....Petra...I am happy she was able to fix your issue!!!

Chris.....Try to rest sweetie...you need to not over do it!! I know the food shopping is a pain....of late, I have been not getting things that I need, simply because I rush through so fast and just hate to go!!!!

Okay...I gotta hit the shower...day off from kiddos today...it's Veteran's Day :americanflag ( I am proud to be an American!!!! ) and the Mom's work for the VA Hosp so they are off today....I am going to spend the WHOLE day with MY Mom!!!!! She has already called and rushing me over!!!

Now about Veteran's Day......Let me say how proud of our past and present Troops I am!!! Appreciation is the least we can give to these fabulous, wonderful men and women.

I hope you all have a fabulous day today :)

Hi Ladies, How are all of my O friends this morning? I was in a serious food coma yesterday after our Chipotle lunch and this fabulous chocolate cake. So good, but I definitely overate. ;-) DH came home last night, and I am so glad he's home.

We have a PreK parent teacher conference later this afteroon with Christian's teacher. Hoping to hear lots of good stuff about my little fella. I like hearing stories about what he's like when I am not around him. It makes him sound like a whole different person.

Linda - have a fabulous day hanging out with your mom.

Chris - Yes, I did laundry while on vacation. I looked like a bag lady carting it back and forth to the laundry room. I need to hit the grocery store myself today. Hope you get some time to relax too.

Clara - sorry to hear about the allergies. And I am mighty impressed with you typing your post while driving in the car. I cannot read or do anything in the car - I get dizzy.

Meg - that is absolutely crazy about the gas!

Hi Petra, Trudy, Laurie, and anyone else I missed. Love to you all.

First of all: good morning ladies and happy Veteran's Day! Thanks to all military, current and past, for all they have done and are doing to keep us all safe :)

Oooh Mary that sounds fab that chocolate cake!! Love back to you! :)

Chris that's not good that you are 95% brain dead hon! You need lots of that coffee you made
I would cook something easy though and slowly get back into the grind!

I haven't been to bed yet as I am the night owl; I made some word art instead (which you can download for free on my blog if interested).
I also made 2 pages and am now playing Bejeweled Blitz, the very addicting game on FaceBook.

Hope you're all having a marvelous Thursday and big hugs to you all!

I thought Veterans day was always on a MOnday. I had no idea it was today. Shows how much I pay attention.

So it was a glorious morning. My children got ready on time, there was no fighting. My exam is over and I think I did well on it. I registered for my a and p 2 and got into the class I wanted! Woohoo! My tests came back and I am fine! Nothing wrong with my thyroid! What a relief. So I am just stressed and unhealthy. Fix that and I'll feel right as rain!

I can sit and veg all day!! So I go onto PSE to finish a LO I am doing of my parents and boy oh boy does it act up. I am so frustrated with it right now! I turned it off to give it a time out! Every time I would click on something, that something would dissappear!!!! So I would have to click edit undo move 50 times before I could do what I wanted with it. Is it maybe cause I had it open all night? Did I accidentally click something I didn't mean to? Has anyone had this problem?

Chris: good luck getting back into exercising. I have gained 20 pounds since May  I keep saying I'm gonna start working out again and then I come up with some excuse not to. My goal is to wake up in the morning and work out before the day begins. Oh and start drinking water again and swear off soda! I lost 30lbs 2 years ago and I just quit the soda and ate smaller portions and worked out or walked at least every other day. I just need the motivation to get back to it again!

Meg: siphoning as! I didn't know that could even be done. How terrible!

Linda: That's wonderful a whole day with your mom! Have a fabulous day!

Me: Mmmmmmm chocolate cake :bounce:

Dutch Diva: Love freebies. Thanks a bunch hon!

Katrina- a rar file is like a zip but needs a different program to unzip- you can do a search for a free program - I use extract now- which also does group extract- great for insd finds/buys, and I put a different one on dh laptop when we were on vacation that just does rar unzips-

Hi everyone- playing catch up this week and heading to the dr for some female issues- that I hadn't expected to- so keep me in your prayers- I hate going to obgyn as even on normal visit it takes 2hours for 15 min of face to face contact- good thing I still have some books to read from vacation!

Done Katrina! I hope that works for you :)

Oh yikes Laurie I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope everything will turn out just fine! Hugs!!

I'm feeling much much better today!!! I initially woke up at 8 feeling worse than ever, but we slept in until 10:30... HURRAH!!!! I'm Feeling BETTER!!!!! I think I just need to go buy some of that snot loosening stuff and I'll be good to go.

Chicken update -- we'll probably get the ladies next week, it rained on the days we were going to get them, and then I got sick. Ugh. So many delays!!!

Oh & wow -- I can't believe you guys haven't had the gas siphoning problem!!! I've had it happen to me three times. The first two were on my old blazer, & I got a locking cap for that. But this is the first time with the caliber. Our gas prices are super high in california & the valley because of air pollution fees and taxes. Petra, did you hear that the semi's will now have to have some kind of new exhaust thing fitted on in order to be able to drive here? I don't know the details.

Jeff deals with people siphoning gas on almost a nightly basis. Usually they're tweakers, so he has more than enough reason to arrest them.

OK, well, today I'm going to take it easy and spend lots of time with Jeff. It's our Monday (blergh) so he has to go back to work tonight. Send lots of nice prayers and thoughts his way, he got a call from his Lt. wondering why the director & gaming investigator were all upset that Jeff didn't do a report on arresting a tweaker... yet, the arrest didn't happen on his shift, or the shift when they thought it happened on. It's a huge hooplah, but jeff's really good friends with the gaming investigator's son, so Jeff talked to his friend who talked to his dad... and his dad said oh well I guess we better check to see when and where he was arrested.
WHAT?!?! Yeah, exactly. Jeff said he's going to walk straight to HR if anyone tries to pin anything on him.

Chris -- Awww!!!!! Get salad stuff, lol. Celery hehehehe! You'll be fine, I'm sure all the walking and adrenaline kept you from gaining.

Linda -- Have fun with your mom!!!!!!!

Mary Ellen -- I'm so jealous of your food coma!! I hope the conference goes well!

Katrina -- I'm so glad your test came back ok & you got into your classes!!!

Petra -- Hehe, sounds like you're trying to get lots done before you have to hit the road tomorrow!! I'll have to check out your word art & blog!! I'm surprised I'm not already subscribed.

Laurie -- Eek, I hope all goes well with the OB!! Praying for you!!!!

Hey girlies!! WOw! You are all really chatty...and I don't have much time ...going to take care of the babies again this afternoon. It's nice for the mommy and daddy to get a little nap in each day!

btw, HAPPY VETERANS DAY!! and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my baby boy, Quentin, who turned 13 today. He did double school yesterday so that he could play his new game, Black Ops all day today. I think when we take him out for dinner, his eyes will be seriously bloodshot and he'll probably be dizzy!! LOL!!! Boys and their toys!! :)

and he was born on Veteran's Day because he was fifth in a line of Dons...all who were veterans except for his daddy (who actually did get an appt to annapolis, but turned it down to become a musician...LOL!!! crazy man..that's why i married him!!) And actually, Quentin (his nickname - Latin for FIFTH) came when he wanted to...we didn't plan for him to be born on Veteran's day, but you could tell his Marine Grandfather was seriously pleased!! :)

okay, i've got to get to my brother's now! LOVE YOU ALL!!! I hope to play here late tonight after the birthday party!! :)

all hopefully went well at OB- he thinks it will - just a polyp, but will be tested to be sure it was just that. However- it ate up most of the beautiful day- oh well

Afternoon Ladies !! Rememberance Day for us :canada: and so proud to be a Canadian !! It poured :rain: today for the ceremony, but DH looked so proud to be in his Red Serge and do his part to pay respect to all of the vets! Will post some photos later. Needless to say I was soaked from the rain and cold too, so I have just had a nice long soak in our jaquzzi tub. AWWWWWW!!!

Laurie - I hope all goes well with your OBGYN good luck with your test results, I will be praying for you girl!!

Sally - Lucky you, you get to babysit!! Perhaps I will see you here later tonight scrapping??

Meg - glad to hear that you are feeling better today! Hope you have a great day with your hubby!!

Petra - I will have to check out your wordart for sure!!

Me - you made me sooo hungry for chocolate cake!!! I am sure you will hear all kinds of great things about your little one!

Nana Linda - You are so patriotic!! Good for you! sounds like we are both proud to be living where we do!! Hope your day with your mom is fab!!

Katrina - hmmmm not sure what is going on with your PSE you might have to remove it and then re-install it again?? :noidea:

Chris - I am surprised that your kids have school today, we don't have school on our Veterans Day (rememberance day here) . Thanks for the coffee :thumb:

Well better get something out for supper...any suggestions anyone??

Laurie -- I'm so glad your appointment went fine! So does this mean you're going to have an ultrasound or biopsy next?

Trudy -- Soup!!! Soup for dinner!!!! I'm glad you had a great Remembrance Day!

I'm feeling a ton better, especially after my shower! I've been working all day on a little pet project of mine that I'm not sure will ever become anything, but I'm kind of held up on it waiting for some other developers to release an important part later this month. Jeff's off at work, so Riley and I are going to cuddle the rest of the day! Maybe even get a nap in to see if I wake up even more refreshed :)

whew... fly by just to say hi... didn't get back on Monday cuz it was class night... it's been a crazy week... am trying to get the kids a bath and in the bed so I can do some homework! I'll try to keep doing at least a fly by LOL so you know I'm still kickin'!

Meg- they removed the polyp right then and there, so unless the test results come back yucky, I am set for now- my pap in april was normal- guess it is a good thing I keep up on those appt- I even made the one for next year while I was there today- yeah me!

Glad to hear it was a fairly easy fix! Now let's hope this was it :)

Trudy: I am sure your husband looked stunning in full gear - would love to see the pics :)

And I seriously have no will power....I just bought Kitty's new Christmas kit it's just too cute!

Oh good!!!! I'm not looking forward to my next one -- I really loved my NP at the university health center. Now that I'm done there, I need to find another one. Ughhh, which will be hard because I refuse to go to the major OB group in the city. Their two top OBs botched my cousin in law's c-section, they were goofing off the whole time. Two days later she almost bled to death because they didn't get all of the placenta out. She was in the hospital for months, and had to have daily injections for almost a year.

:eek2: That's horrible Meg!!!

Now I can't say much...and it's bad I know but I haven't been to one since 2002

I know not everyone is religious but if you would please keep my niece Chloë in your thoughts and prayers I'd really appreciate it!
She was born on September 11th and within 2 weeks they diagnosed her with cystic fibrosis. She has been in the hospital more than she has been at home and is there again. This time she is in there with pneumonia
My brother and his wife are staying at the Ronald McDonald house while she is in there. Thank God for modern day medicine and facilities such as the RMD-house!!

Of course your niece will be in our prayers Petra, poor sweet little girl :pray2:
You are right about Ronald McDonald House, it is a truly wonderful place!! I stayed there for almost three months while my daughter was in the hospital, it saved us!!

Petra, little Chloe will be in our prayers!!!!! We have a really good friend with CF, she's my age, & she's doing well - even in our bad air! There's been a lot of progression in CF treatments in just the last few years, your little Chloe will be well taken care of!! Keep me updated on her, OK?

Thanks Trudy and Meg - I will keep you updated :)
It's not my brother I'm worried about; he calls his daughter his little Queen so go figure :becky:
His wife on the other hand...long, sad story. She has 2 kids from a previous marriage they are 5 and 3 years old. Well they are totally out of control like you see in Supernanny? His wife and the kids are apparently always loud, screaming and yelling. Plus she is being watched by child services as well, twice a week. Only her. The 5-year old can barely talk and bounces off the walls. My brother works full-time, comes home, does groceries, cleans, cooks, bathes the kids and plays with them etc. AND disciplines them as much as he can. But her family pops in all the time and when he says they can't do something (the kids) the family will say the opposite. So he's not getting much anywhere with those kids because of them. He's close to a burn out because his wife is not supportive or willing to put in any effort. In fact, now her baby of 2 months is sick in the hospital, my brother is with Chloë to take care of her as much as he can. His selfish wife went SHOPPING IN IKEA!! Now I like shopping in Ikea just like everyone else but her 2-month old is seriously ill in the hospital and they don't even know whether the antibiotics are working.
She complained to my mom that Chloë always vomits after eating but when my mom takes care of her, she never does. According to my mom she has no patience to let Chloë eat her food in peace.
Now mind you I have never met her in real life as they met in 2008 and I haven't been to the Netherlands since 2007. I hear all this from my mother, who always has been the best mother a child can have and she is so upset by all this obviously and so am I. My brother now wants to have it all notarized that I will have full custody of Chloë should something happen so I will definitely try to go there next year as I will have to be there in person to sign the papers.
We're just scared that if she keeps going the way she is that child services will take the kids away!!
Sorry for the long rant but this is just eating at me. :(
I just wish I could go over there and smack some sense into the stupid woman!

Wow, so is the birth father of the two oldest kids in the picture at all? does he have any custody rights?

One of Jeff's co-workers was in a similar situation as your brother is, and he ended up divorcing his ex -- and got custody of her two children from her previous marriage (I don't think she knew who their father was, or he was dead.) I'm not sure of all the logistics, but after that -- the kids were behaving because there was finally no conflicting instructions, they had to behave or else.

Maybe your brother could try a post-nuptial agreement? He could outline responsibilities for his wife, conditions to be met, and then consequences. Like, a condition could be that when her family is visiting they are to obey the rules set forth by him and not contradict. The consequence if that isn't followed would be no one is allowed over for a month. Another condition could be to take parenting classes, that would actually impress child protective services. Consequence would be no more spending money for ikea.

& is there any way for the papers for you to get custody of Chloe to be notarized here in America? They might have special conditions for that.

That's all I could think of for now :\ I'll keep them in my prayers!

You know about the papers I don't know if that's possible. I will have to look into that as I rather have that done sooner than later really with the way she is.

The father of the 2 kids has them every other weekend and he is trying to get more custody of the kids. The funny thing is, him and my brother actually became friends and his wife can't stand it. My brother keeps telling her she is better off being nice to him (her ex) and make it easier for the kids' sake instead of always turning it into such a drama but of course she wants to be right about everything.

Her ex also said in court she is an irresponsible mother and that's why he wants more custody but he lost. Go figure - the law mostly always assigns the children to the mother whether it's justified or not.

I don't think she actually had money to go buy anything at Ikea she just went there to 'go shopping' like window shopping I guess, I don't know. God knows with her really.

Wow -- she sounds like she has a hardened/bitter heart like my mom (not the mom I'm usually referring to, that's my step mom.) My mom would get upset when any of their friends would speak to my dad after the divorce. Well, if CPS is investigating her -- he might be able to regain custody, eventually if she doesn't improve.

Sounds like mentally she might have something off... my BIL's birth mom had a slight form of austism that caused her to not be able to make responsible decisions about childcare, she was very disconnected... it was awful. My BIL had to be put in the PICU when CPS took him.

She does have ADHD but then again one shouldn't always put the blame on things like that to get away with their behavior. I think in a some cases people throw around what medical things are 'wrong' with them in order to get a free card for their behaviors.

Perfectly said!!!!
