i just watched the announcement for this on Youtube. I am shaken up. I mean, I knew this was happening, but I think of all the photos I have posted and especially about the number of unknown people that keep showing up in my Facebook feed as well as noticing several as "Friends" that I have not idea who they are? I RARELY accept friend requests!

I know how caring the members here are and wanted to give you all an ( admittedly disturbing) heads up- because we ALL care for our families!

It was surprising how EASILY and QUICKLY these predators can access the kids! This video gives CLEAR INSTRUCTIONS to stop their access which you can share with your children, adult children, and grands. I also changed settings they suggested on my phone so locations/ photos cannot be accessed. I'm so grateful that John and DHS did this!! PLEASE share the link with your family and friends, and if applicable, your pastor/ priest!

I don't have any tracking on my cell phone. Not even on my pictures. I can't believe how many people disregard these warnings. I was just having a conversation yesterday about how much information people "give away" on Facebook. They even tell that they're on vacation and where they are. It's like announcing that their homes are empty and waiting to b vandalized. I was paranoid "back in the day" about my kids and somebody taking them.

Yes. I never had tracking either. But what isn't widely known that photos are tracked- including location! by apps on your phone. The video explains all of that. This info is used by predators who can locate kids (and their friends) within 2 minutes using social media and high tech systems.

I have location services off on the camera and most everything else. Anything that NEEDS location I have checked "Use only when APP is open"

Me too. And the apps that are allowed when in use are maps LOL Otherwise why do they need to know where I am? Grocery doesn't just to clip coupons. Games (the two I allowed on my phone LOL) dont need to know where I am when playing. its crazy how much info is out there.
