Today is World Wildlife Day, an opportunity to think about conservation efforts worldwide. Plants and animals are a huge part of our global ecosystem so when one species goes extinct, balance in the natural world goes awry.
For me, it's a good time to reflect on how humans affect plants and animals when we build too many houses that encroach upon habitats. Or when we plant an easy-growing ornamental bush or vine only for it to become invasive. That's the serious side.
On the other hand, it's a fantastic excuse to look at funny aminal videos or pictures.
