Where Might I Live?

I love not driving on ice or needing to have my driveway shoveled after a snowstorm. But Florida is so incredibly hot and humid in the summer. I found a website called Where Might I Live and I'm trying to figure out what would be an ideal location for me in a few years when we are retired.

https://app.wheremightilive.com/map This is US only...but I have been looking at international locations too.

Tell me do you love where you live? If so, where is it? If not, where would you go?

In my NEXT LIFE, I'm going to have a winter home in SWFL but don't like the summers! We lived there for years and it is nice to not have to fight the snow and ice. We live in a pretty great climate now - in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains and our winters are pretty mild. The humidity is usually fairly low, and the air quality is always good.

WOW, @Cherylndesigns , sounds like you live in a perfect place! Anywhere that the humidity is low and the temperatures are very mild all year long is where I want to be! I do love the change of seasons.....some more than others! I love spring and fall but can do without the extremes of the other two! ;). I'm good with living in NC. Our winters are mild but the summers can be BAD! LOVE the spring and fall.....when we actually get them! I'm OK with where the LORD has placed me for as long as He wants me to be here!

Vicky, we live in NE Oklahoma - we're in a little "pocket" and a lot of the storms and other bad weather kind of go around us or over us. We did get caught in that Polar Vortex a few years ago, but so did most of the country! The evenings here are just wonderful and we have mountain views right on our front porch. We DO have a bit of winter, but we're all originally from Michigan so we can't even compare to "Michigan winters".

We live about 15 minutes northwest of Nashville. Our winters are relatively mild but it does get hot here in the summer. I'm alright with that as long as I can stay in the AC! I do love that we experience the four seasons here. The best thing is our kids and grands live nearby. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.:heartpumpred:

I'm happy with our little city with a semi-arid climate but it sure is tempting to move to South America.

I love these responses. No wonder you ladies are my friends because I hear a lot of me in these answers.

@Cherylndesigns I absolutely would love to have two homes and Florida would be my winter home. We have been talking (well mainly I have been talking) about renting a summer place next year and we have discussed Maine, NC, Michigan and Tennessee as places to escape. We have also talked about relocating year round in which case both the Branson area and Rogers, Arkansas are in play.

@vickyday if we decide that we are going for a total relocation, NC is high on the list. You have an ocean and you have mountains and you have seasons. That's a lot of goodness there.

@EvelynD2 the kids and the grandkids. That is why we won't be leaving anytime soon. Kids have 2 and 3 years of college left here in Florida so no permanent relocations until then. And once they are relocated somewhere (or not) that will play into our decision making for sure. I love Tennessee and it is on my list although a bit further east than Nashville probably.

@bcgal00 I have thought about both South America and Europe. But probably couldn't really be that far away from my family.

ummmm, I only fooled around with it a little bit, but the areas I got were CA, NJ, and MD, and a section in Illinois. Guess I am stuck where I am!

Well I must admit that when I have been looking in the NE, I always think about how I could visit you! So you mustn't leave.

That is a cool website. I didn't get to finish- the "sign in" kept spooling. So I'll go back to it. Most likely though it will lead me to where we are- in a pocket like Cheryl! Most of the forecasted storms go right around us too. Except for hurricanes. July & August are hot :mad:and humid horrid. Have to stay inside most ALL the time due to heat indices. But being close to beach and mountains..:heartpumpred::heartpumpred::heartpumpred: Do like the upstate much better than the Pee Dee. Guess a Perfect place doesn't exist with all my boxes to check, ha!
