When do you put up your tree?

I am always surprised how early most of my neighbours get their Christmas decorations up! This year it seems even earlier than others. I normally would not get my tree up until after my Son's birthday on Dec 11. However he has been grown and away from home for many years now. Still I wait until at least the second week of December. How about all of you? When does your Tree go up in your house?

On December 6, Sinterklaas will arrive with candy and toys for the children ... On December 7 I place my Christmas tree (tradition with us) ...
With the pandemic, many people have already put their Christmas tree and Christmas decorations ...
In Belgium, only the essential shops, bookstores, flower shops and garden centers are open ... Christmas decorations and fake Christmas trees can only be bought online ...

Usually on December 6th Saint Nicholas Day, but this year I'm not feeling much festive.
Although we already started to listen Christmas music.
We probably will have new lockdown, so in my country Black Friday was drawn forward and previous Friday we ordered our Christmas gift as everybody rush to be delivered early.

We always wait until after Thanksgiving. I'm not sure this year, because we're going to wait until after we move. I hope by the middle of December.

Normally I wait until the 1st or 2nd wkend in December. This year I think I'll get J and D to pull out the bins this wkend and maybe we can get the tree up the following wkend.

It depends on a bunch of factors. When we get a real tree, then it is later than when we had a fake tree. It also depends on the kids' school schedules. This year that isn't a factor for Scott since he graduated but Caitlyn has classes and finals until Dec 21st, the same it was last year. We won't wait until she is finished but we try to find some time where she isn't scrambling to get everything done.

We usually will try to get it up in the first week of December but then I have to have it *out* soon after the holiday is over. It gets cramped in the LR since we have to move furniture around.
For my family is a project with a specific process. LOL
Certain ornaments must be hung next to each other. For example, Snow White gets stuck in the back with The Grinch blasting his horn in her ear. Caitlyn never liked Snow White-- way too wishy-washy for her and reliant on men *winks*- so she torments SW as a lesson. (For the record, my DD is 22 and has been doing this since she was in Elementary School!)
We have to make an issue of how straight the tree is since my DH would use a level on it if he could. Someone has to complain about the lights. Disney Christmas Carols on the radio and eggnog spiked with Baileys. Last year we used buttershnapps instead which was deemed an acceptable substitute.
I have no idea when we are getting a tree this year but it feel like we should do it soon.

I always wait, and wait, hoping someone will do it for me.
That never happens.
Half december and sometimes just the weekend for christmas is when i start.
I do get help getting the decorations out from the attic!

Ours is a real pain in the *** process that lasts for days because hubby insists on doing the lights a certain way.(He doesn't like the pre-lit trees nor real ones) He can never stay at it until it is done so the whole lights on the tree thing lasts for days. The record is 6 days which I have documented in photos so he can't argue. I have the tree and the house decorated in a day.
So at the moment, for the last 4 days, the tree stands bare in the living room, boxes of lights are in every corner and furniture is askew. I have learned over the years to shut my mouth and wait because he is going to do what he wants and in the time he wants.

My rant for the day.

We always have a real tree and place it in the weekend after Sinterklaas. But this year my husband is away that Saturday, so he will buy the tree on December 5. I think we will also set it up that day.

I no longer put up a tree, since it's just me here. I put strings of lights around the apartment instead. My daughter-in-love, however, has already put hers up so I enjoy their lovely tree. I took a photo and processed it into a watercolor and will create a layout with it for her a bit closer to Christmas. ♥
