What's on in the background?

So I just finished working on a layout, and while I was scrapping I was listening to a playlist in my iTunes that I hadn't listened to for a while. It got me thinking about what everyone has going on in the background while they scrap. For me, I scrap best listening to music, generally instrumental or classical, either on Pandora or from my iTunes. (admittedly, from Thanksgiving to New Years I was all about Christmas music, lol). :music:

Who listens to music while they scrap? What kind? Who scraps while they are watching television? Who needs complete peace and quiet?

I always have music playing in the background, not only do I find it soothing, but it also helps my tinnitus. Usually something easy listening or jukebox oldies. Norah Jones is playing right now.

I like having music playing in the background while I scrap. Have found some wonderful romantic songs on YouTube that I like. If I am not on-line, I listen to DVDs that I have. Somehow the music makes my creative muse come out.

I work on my laptop in the living room for the most part so most evenings my hubby is serenading me.... ok, no, he's just playing Rockband but I call it my own private concert.


If I'm scrapping, I usually have the tv on... hmmmmm. Maybe that's why I don't get much scrapping done :doh::faint:

Listening to one of my "mixed" iTunes playlists. At the moment, Andrea Bocelli is singing. (*swoon...be still my heart)

A lot of times, I have the tv, which is next to my desk, on and I listen to it. Can't tell you how many times I have to rewind to "see" what I just heard. haha So then my times are off with regular programming times. I can't win. :smile:

For me, its TV. I have my laptop beside my PC and watch as I scrap. I only pick shows that are easy to follow, don't require that I watch constantly to keep up with it. So I catch up with episodes of General Hospital (been watching that since I was a teenager) or one of the cooking shows like Top Chef, Masterchef, etc. I also put on youtube vids too about health, cooking, etc.

If I'm sitting upstairs at my desk in the corner of the LR, I watch the big screen with my hubs but, again, stick to shows that don't require my full attention.

I'm sure it takes me longer to scrap b/c I'm dividing up my time, but it is my fave way to scrap and I'm not in a hurry, I don't care that it might take all night to do one layout.

Nope, nada. Cannot for the life of me have anything going on while I work. I need to give my pages my full attention .... well except for the dog telling me he wants a walk. I get so immersed in creating that I have to block out everything around me. I even make hubby wear earphones when he is in our computer room as well. Silence for me. Does that make me weird?

i have the tv on - usually it is something light like a talk show or entertainment magazine show - this way i can just listen and look up occasionally while i scrap.

I listen to music while I scrap and usually it's something from the 80's playlist. I cannot watch tv and scrap at the same time, I get way to distracted. Usually I end up watching what's on tv and have an empty scrap page in front of me when the tv is on. My laptop is also in the living room, so the times to scrap is when everyone is in bed or at work and in school and I have the house all to myself.

I do not always do it, but today (my day off, so extra time to scrap) and I now listen to Ed Sheeran!

I've never been good at scrapping with the TV on. Like Marjoleine, I end up with a layout not done and a show not watched!

TV is usually on, once in awhile I'll put on the earbuds and listen to my itune list.

It depends on my mood and what I am working on! Sometimes I play music on purpose to get myself in the mood for the page I am doing! But I love the silence too to be honest!

I have my computer upstairs, in my "office" ...
i have two screens on the computer, on the one i have Photoshop, on the other i can navigate in my stuff ....
This is so comfortable to scrap ! i dont scrap on my laptop anymore ! So i am always alone and quiet, and concentrate in my corner !
I love this alone time, sometimes with a bit music, but the most time : silence ! Like Margje and Kythe : i love silence !

I usually scrap in the evening while my husband watches television ... the sound does not bother me ...
If I make time during the day to scrap, I don't need music ...
