I don't like "sappy" Christmas music, but I have a couple of songs that I love and that start my season off. One of them is "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree". What about you?

Having spent all my life having summer Christmases can't identify with snow and sleigh rides and snowmen.
So for me, its not Christmas here without Tim Minchin's "White Wine in the Sun". It's the right kind of depressingly nostalgic when I miss my family over this time.

I totally get it, Mel. That's why I prefaced this with "no sappy songs" I have lived in "winter/summer" so long and it's not easy to be with your family and the "snow" feelings. :(

Awww, it reminds me of my Nana & Popa, too!! I lived with them most of the time up until 3rd grade and Nana had Christmas records she would play during the holidays and I always loved it when "Silver Bells" would come on...just the first two words of the song and how he sings it fills me with nostalgia :heartpumplove: :heartpumplove: :heartpumplove:

Anne Murray put out a Christmas album years ago and its not Christmas until that starts playing. Brings back happy memories of good times with my mom. We would drive over an hour to get to the shopping malls and we played the cassette tape over and over and over. I love Winter Wonderland. But Silent Night :love: I also love Mary Did you Know. Deck the Halls.

I love Christmas music! It is hard for me to decide on my favorite! I love most all that have been mentioned.....Christmas brings Joy to my heart, so I guess Joy to the World is ONE of my favorites!

I'm like @vickyday. I love Christmas music. It's hard to have one fav. So I'm giving you two. First is O Holy Night. I prefer all three verses. Second is a more recent fave, Angels from the Realms of Glory by The Piano Guys with David Archuleta and Peter Holland.

Ooooo!!! That one reminds me of my childhood in Mansfield Ohio- where the church bells rang around the city on Christmas Day and the city put up the vintage bells on light poles!!! And YES, they were SILVER!

I've been in SC for many years. I'm over it. I can't wait to return to the feet of snow every winter
