I don't like "sappy" Christmas music, but I have a couple of songs that I love and that start my season off. One of them is "Rocking Around The Christmas Tree". What about you?
Those are two great Christmas songs, Anne-Marie.There are many that I like.
Two favourites are "Mary Did You Know" and "From the Squalor of a Borrowed Stable"
Having spent all my life having summer Christmases can't identify with snow and sleigh rides and snowmen.
So for me, its not Christmas here without Tim Minchin's "White Wine in the Sun". It's the right kind of depressingly nostalgic when I miss my family over this time.
I totally get it, Mel. That's why I prefaced this with "no sappy songs" I have lived in "winter/summer" so long and it's not easy to be with your family and the "snow" feelings.
That's an awesome song, Jenn.My favorite is Silver Bells...especially if it is Bing Crosby
Awww, it reminds me of my Nana & Popa, too!! I lived with them most of the time up until 3rd grade and Nana had Christmas records she would play during the holidays and I always loved it when "Silver Bells" would come on...just the first two words of the song and how he sings it fills me with nostalgiaI'm with Jenn @joyfulheartdesigns My favorite is "Silver Bells" especially because it brings back happy childhood memories when we traveled to my grandparents and other relatives who lived in New York City.
Ooooo!!! That one reminds me of my childhood in Mansfield Ohio- where the church bells rang around the city on Christmas Day and the city put up the vintage bells on light poles!!! And YES, they were SILVER!My favorite is Silver Bells...especially if it is Bing Crosby
O Holy Night for me too.Two very different Christmas songs for me - Mary's Boy Child by Boney M and Oh Holy Night sung by Celine Dion.
I've been in SC for many years. I'm over it. I can't wait to return to the feet of snow every winterHaving spent all my life having summer Christmases can't identify with snow and sleigh rides and snowmen.
