What are you doing to keep track of time?

No, no, no, Silly! Not like wearing a watch! :pound:
How are you keeping track of time when all of the days are a blur?

My state was officially closed March 21, but most places were already closed by March 13. The first week or so, my family and I kinda paid no attention to much,. The kids were on Spring Break so they didn't have classes, and everything I had scheduled was canceled.

Everything has become sort of a blur. I go to bed reminding myself what day it was, only to wake up in the morning wondering what day it is. This week I am trying to set more of a schedule for myself- trying to be up at a certain time, off the computer at a certain time. Anything to make my days feel more like days than amorphous blobs!

I have been writing even the littlest things into my planner- fold laundry, make bed, gallery comments.
My DD uses a bullet journal and stepped it up a bit too.

Do you have any other ideas? What are you doing to to feel like time is passing semi-normally? Or are you simply not bothering? That is fine too, BTW!

Since we've been retired a long time, we don't find this as different from normal as you probably do. We keep a physical calendar in the kitchen that tells us when things are scheduled (now all cancelled unless online). DH had H&S on Monday and I did bills then and meetings were on certain days of the month. We never got much into assigning time to specific tasks but did and do eat dinner at the same time each day pretty much.

DH recommends growing something. Maybe seeds to plant something outside later or maybe herbs. Watching things grow does mark passing time and he also made Thursday water day. Then he waters & feeds the poinsettia and orchid and in season checks the water level in the furnace.

To know what day it is we read the local newspaper, such as it is. Now we get home delivery four days a week and have to read it online the other three. So you have to know whether to expect a paper on the porch in the morning. And date - look at the paper. Seriously, that is sometimes what we do even though our computers always tell us that too.

Doubt this is very helpful, but I know you can find a way.

Thank you, Jean. In some ways, I think it is a bit easier for my family as well since my husband has been disabled since 2006. My kids remember "Daddy Stay Home Days" ie - weekends but they have been long gone in our world. Every day is a Daddy Stay Home Day! :p With my kids (supposed to be) commuting to college, having them home on random days is also not super unusual.

As you know from the Daily Ooos, I have a tendency to be date-challenged as it is. The Daily Ooos are actually a good thing for me- forces me to check my calendar every day.

Sidenote: please come and join us in the Daily Ooos- we have been doing some chatting, breathing and relaxation exercises, recipe sharing. Laughs. Venting on occasion.

I love the idea of growing things- but as much as I have a green thumb outdoors, I am a plant-killer when it comes to houseplants. How sad is that? I just found out that the local nursery is doing contact-free shopping so in another week or so I am going to place an order for some stuff for the gardens.

I'd love to hear more from the rest of you!

I recently saw a post that read:

Sunday
Monday
Tuesday
Wednesday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
And everything was crossed off except day! I thought it was pretty perfect!

I know when it's the weekend because DH isn't working in the basement, but I teach online 7 days a week so it's all just a blur for me. I had put things on the calendar like Tuesday's full moon, but since we don't go anywhere we don't look at it so we didn't look at the moon either! I have to check the date on my phone or computer.
