prompt 11= inside joke
F.Z. = Familie zurückhalten= "Keep the family back" was a special saying in our family: especially in the 50s and 60s, when we didn't have a telephone, but also later, friends would just drop by, so we often had unexpected visitors who were then of course invited to dinner.
My grandma always cooked and often the food she prepared wasn't enough for more people, so she always said to us: "FZ" = in German "Keep the family back", which meant that we should eat less until the guests were full
prompt 12 = in between
At the age of 50, I worked in an homecare service that looked after people on ventilators at home. I had the position of a nursing service representative.
At my boss's request, I was to do additional training to become a nursing service manager. The company covered the costs, but I had to commit to staying with the company for 2 years and also taking days off for school days.
In the middle of the training, I received a very good offer from a special children's care service to be a nursing service manager.
I thought about it for a long time and then decided to accept it.
I terminated my contract, had to cover the costs of the training myself immediately and also had very emotional and unpleasant discussions with my boss, who could not accept that.
In the end, I stuck to my resignation, paid for the course completely myself and then switched to the other company.
The time in between was very difficult.
I concentrated on my course, which I was proud to complete very well and was able to make a completely fresh start in the other company.
