Anyone reading it?

I saw it last summer, and have avoided it (for a lot of reasons) since then.....don't always want to "join the hype"...but someone specifically asked me to read it this week - as an assignment, and to discuss it with her.

It's not what I expected as of now.

What are your thoughts?
 
I saw the book when it first came out and almost bought it....still haven't. Let me know if you like it and I might cave in :).
 
It's a very controversial book - but I loved it. A hard read, a good read. A very thought-provoking read.
 
it looks scary to me...(not withstanding the controversy)...i'm just not a "tough situation" reader...thus no jodie piccoult for me either...LOL!!!!

but Kaylea, i'm totally interested in hearing your view of it... :)
 
You mean...read an adult book?....I have no clue what that is. I'd like to read an adult book, but now I've got to read all the state award winners for next year. I never get to read adult stuff! =) Jodie Picoult has been sitting in my "to read" basket for about two years!
 
I keep meaning to see if my library has it. I need to write it down so I don't forget. The new releases keep jumping out at me when I got and I am neglecting my list. ;)

I think Amanda has read it, for some reason I think I saw that somewhere. Maybe she will pop in and give her 2 cents. :)
