Since the gallery is not back up, I am kind of bummed. I look to other peoples layouts as inspiration for my own, and I also look for feedback on how to do my stuff better. SOOOO as a temporary fix to a temporary problem.... let's show off our recently created pages here!

As was suggested before in a different topic you can upload them to Photobucket or Flickr OR if you don't want to create a private account to do so, there is also tinypic.com - with tinypic.com you upload it - it gives you the URL and that is that, however you wont be able to go in and edit the image later or remove it from their server like you can with Photobucket or Flickr so I suggest using one of those.

Soooo to start it off, here are some of my new ones...
(By the way, the blank journaling spots are there for my friend. All these photos are of her daughter and there was a slight mishap with the baby book so we are making a new one =] I want her to be able to write in her own stuff.)

Now this last one I could use some help on - I got some feedback last night when I finished it but I'm still not sure. Everyone is telling me to keep it simple and it's fine how it is but it was supposed to have a very "fantasy-ish" feeling to it, like she is being carried away by her balloons, and I just don't know what else to do with it.....ideas?

oh however much I like to see all those lovely layouts in the gallery I'd be very scared to break the forum again by overloading it with all our creations.

Fine to keep showing the ones you make for the current challenges but for us all to post at random wouldn't be such a wise thing .. but then who am I??

that aside...I love your doodling on the first one, the blending on the second one and the 3rd? i think the journal box is too big compared to the photo I'd make the photo bigger and the journal smaller. Lovely how she is looking up

Oh! I didn't even think about that!

But if the images are hosted on a different server it wouldn't be over loading this one would it?

Still, a good point...

Kayleigh - first don't worry - the gallery is making a comeback!!! Yay!!
On that last one that you asked for help on... What about adding just a touch tree-top or roof-top to the bottom and see if that helps give more of a carried away feeling??? I love the first layout with the doodle frame!! SO cute!

Wow - nice extraction! And I love the colors and whimsical feel of the first layout!

I wonder if you could lighten the shadows on the rocking chair to give it a more sunshiny/outdoor feel? One way would be to add a duplicate layer (Layer --> Duplicate Layer). Then, with the new layer selected, choose "screen" mode instead of "normal" (from the double drop-down arrows at the top of the layers panel). Then you can lower the opacity of that layer from 100% to 80% or whatever looks good. You could also add a mask to that layer and mask out anything that seems too bright, leaving just the shadows lighter. (I'm in PSCS4, so someone correct me if this is all wrong in a different version.)

What about adding a light drop shadow on the frame, and play with the levels to see how it looks?

I hope you're able to recover the baby book for your friend!
