Oh, Trudy! I am so sorry to hear about your sister! What is her name and I will pray for her!Sending your SIL all my best thoughts and prayers! My sister also has liver problems and is a non-drinker. Doctors keep telling her to stop drinking (idiots) she hasn't had a drink in over 30 years!!
Anne-Marie, I am so sorry you Aunt died from liver disease. I am glad that your brother is getting the care he needs for his liver condition and that you can be proactive to keep your liver healthy.@taxed4ever and @EvelynD2
My mother had a cousin who died of liver troubles - yet never drank a drop of alcohol. She always wondered why until my brother was diagnosed with Hemochromatosis which is too much iron in the blood ( I am border line this) and if not discovered you can die of the same liver disease as alcoholics. When the doctor discovered my high iron and I said about my brother she sent me off for a liver ultrasound to make sure it was okay and it is. I do not need to do anything unless that iron level increases. My brother for some months had to give blood regularly to get the iron level down.
