Picasa - that's all folks!

Google is shutting it down on May 1 apparently.

The Picasa desktop app will continue to function but after March 15 there may not be any more updates far as I can make out. They won't be leaving a download link either.

Google today announced it is shutting down Picasa in less than three months. The company is asking Picasa users to try Google Photos for all their picture needs.

Boogers. I use that a lot. I hate Google Photos. I'm going to have to figure something new out.

I don't like Google Photos either, they are not intuitive, I can't see sll photos (enlarged) in grid like in Picasa...I use Picasa for image URLs or for albums...
This is gonna be a blow to me :-(

I don't want all those photos tied to my Google Plus account personally. There are a lot of photos that I have uploaded that I wouldn't want in albums on Google Plus. Perhaps it's changed since they started it. I haven't explored.

I loved Picasa when I was using it. Then I got too many photos and it couldn't deal. But it's a shame it's closing down!
