New home printer recommendation

I think my Epson XP 8600 printer is about to 'die'. Can anyone recommend a new home printer (I make cards for friends) that has good color printing on matte card stock. Not sure if the ink or cartridge is better.

Hi there! I use a Canon TS9500 inkjet printer. Printing out photos and such is excellent, but not so good if you want to apply anything 'wet' over the top, like for art journaling, if you want to apply a coat of gel matte over it as it will streak. So for me personally, my next printer buy will be a laser printer with toner. I used print out a lot of my layouts and photos in the past for which the Canon was fantastic but I haven't done that sort of printing for ages now. Also, if you are doing a lot, perhaps the smaller cartridge inks for an inkjet might work out too costly, so perhaps take a look at the Epson models that use the large bottles of ink?
