Hello aArtists!

It’s time for another challenge from Anna Aspnes. The AnnaTeam selects one creative page from the Anna gallery as the weekly ‘AnnaLift.’ Be inspired, create your own ‘AnnaLift,’ upload your page to the Anna gallery and include it here in this forum thread. Upload your page by Friday 09.06.19 by 8:00 pm EST with the title, ‘AnnaLift. ’ One lucky participant will be randomly selected to win a $5.00 GiftKard to Anna’s shop.

HOW IT WORKS: Each Saturday the AnnaTeam posts one creative page from the Anna gallery as the weekly ‘AnnaLift.’ Check out the inspiration page and decide what speaks to you. Is it the design, the color, the wordART, or maybe the photo? Then enjoy artfully playing—there is no right or wrong way to ArtPlay.

Choose ONE idea to lift or choose it ALL and lift it completely. Be inspired, create your ‘AnnaLift’ and then upload your page to the Anna gallery, plus include it here in this forum thread. It would be great if you could link back to your page in the gallery too!

Anna’s products mix well with so many kits/designers and Anna welcomes you to include these with your Anna Products on your AnnaLift page.

THIS WEEK WE ARE LIFTING:
Green Heron by marye

Earthy and natural perfectly describes this week’s lift. A photo featuring a green heron is artfully displayed in the center of the design. Captured by an avid birder, this heron in its natural habitat perches on its slender yellow legs at the water's edge almost hidden among a tangle of leaves. A cleverly created background of transfers and papers echoes the blue and green hues found in the bird’s environment. Using watercolor stains and brushes to extend the greenish marsh enhances the nature-inspired theme. Unusual double framing of lightly colored frame with a subtle black outline contains the focal photo while adding depth and dimension. This very gifted artist has turned her passion for birding into beautiful botanical art that could be proudly displayed in any home.

IDEAS TO INSPIRE: Use ONE or MORE of the following in your AnnaLift layout.
• Create a layout using a photo of something that interests you—a hobby or craft, nature, food, your grandkids—anything that piques your interest.
• Design you own background paper by combing several transfers and/or papers together.
• Use nature-inspired colors like green, blue, tan, yellow and white.
• Frame your focal photo with more than one frame or outline.
• Try using a watercolor effect or stain some in your art.
• Add some brushwork to accent your art.

Here's mine. I was trying to "lift" the water color feel of the layout. Used ArtPlayMilieu to create the layout and then used the adobe watercolor action to make it more like a painting. Finally, added the title from the SummerWord art pack and additional text using font Bell MT. Thanks for this fun challenge!!
