It is hard to post this week's kit without thinking of the people in Oklahoma
affected by the tornado(es). And, as you have probably seen in the forums,
our dear Vicki Stegall (aka Mama O) is safe and her family accounted for.
So why does this wordart make me think of the disaster? This tornado was
crazy. Unheard of. Destructive. Devastating. What could be beautiful?
The beautiful comes out in the stories of help and of heroes. Of people doing
what they could with what they had at the moment to help shelter and protect those
around them. The heroes who, after the storm, raced to look for survivors and get
news to those waiting from a distance. Teachers on top of students shielding them
from harm. Strangers digging through rubble in search of any movement or sounds.
The very humble offers of comfort to neighbors and friends who received the worst of news.
Even those who helped the pets, bringing something tangible and hopeful
to some who had lost everything
Therein lies the beautiful.
