June Snapshots

I know we all like to take pictures, and then scrap those pictures.
I started this topic to ask you to show some snapshots.
They do not have to be special pictures, artistic pictures, prizewinning pictures but just those that make you get out your camera, or mobile and click!

I passed this poster yesterday and I had to take a picture. I thought it would make a great topic of ordinary everyday pictures.

Diane, that sign is awesome! :)
I know I'm weird, but I think dying flowers have such a beautiful quality about them. :) The sun was hitting just perfectly on my drying peonies, I have on my table, from my garden.

Spent some time walking around my hometown today. I always smile when I see this bubblehead wall.

I must say I prefer my flowers a bit more undead, but for a photo it works great!
And the wall painting is beautiful!

This morning I passed this tree,

and it immediately took me back to my childhood.
Next to our school was a little pond and a tree like this stood just next to it. And summerdays like today we would grab some branches and tried to swing over the water! great fun!
and most of the times we would even stay dry!

These are so fun to look at. I have gotten into the habit of only taking pictures of my pets or random flowers if I am out or about. Even though I would give up some time in March/April, I loved the concept of taking a photo a day (P365)
yesterday I was at an animal sanctuary and got this awesome shot of some cows and if you look carefully, you can see a skydiver in the distance.

I should also share a photo of one of my azaleas- It bloomed this year as I have never seen it before. It usually looks really pretty but this year it outdid itself!

PS: For those of you who remember Wolfgang, you can see that he is much happier in the spring than in the snowy winter! LOL

We had some really amazing thunderstorms the other day and just like they say in the stories, as the sun came out after the rain there was a rainbow:

This is one of our old Shell gas stations. I'm so glad they kept the building when they stopped the business years ago. It took me awhile to locate it this week, as I always go down the wrong avenue, to find it. :)

Diane, traffic...yuck! :) The bicycle sounds like the perfect solution. That tree is amazing. What a wonderful memory you have of it. Love that lush green!
Chris, love the cows on the hill and your azaleas are gorgeous.
Angie, the rainbow is beautiful. Great capture.

Ten minutes from my house is the furniture market, in High Point. This is the world's largest chest-of-drawers. My sister-in-law and I had fun trying to reach the socks. haha

Caitlyn and I have been working on (and complaining about!) a puzzle for weeks now and it is going to be the death of me. I said in the Daily Oos that I was going to share a couple of photos so here they are:
This is how far we got after 3 weeks:
attachment.php

The edges and some of the shoreline. Some random pieces that go together. Three weeks.
It might not look like there aren't that many more pieces to place in this photo because we have a lot of the pieces that are almost identical is separate plates. This plate is filled with solid light blue pieces.

attachment.php

I also have a plate full of mostly solid whites, a plate full of greens, a plate full of dark blues... We are getting about 10 pieces placed a day so at the rate we are going...maybe we will be done in another 3 months!

Vera, what a great spotting and shot. I've never seen one of those before.
Chris. OMG! I love puzzles but this one would take me forever with my attention span. :) I can't wait to see the final piece put in. :)

This is a shot I took today. My dad lives in a secluded valley, in the Smokey Mountains. There are black bears everywhere. This sign, is his neighbors' warning, about not entering their private driveway. haha

Chris, I love puzzles and like you I separate the pieces by colour but when things get tough like yours is I further separate them into similar shapes usually by the number of holes. You know, the H shape, 3 outies, 2 outies, etc. Then I try them out in a space 1 at a time. Exhausting but usually I will get a run going.

Danesa- hahaha that sign is too cute!

Karen- we call them nubbins, paddles, scoops, devils's tails. LOL The annoying thing with this puzzle is that the shapes are all "basic" and several pieces will fit in the same spot perfectly. We ripped out about 5 pices yesterday after we realized that they actually were not in the right place. argh!

Yay, Chris! When I came home from dad's yesterday, I discovered my peppers have tiny little peppers on them and my tomatoes are going gang-busters! Isn't it fun to go out each day and see how fast things are coming along now? I'm already eating my basil, rosemary, thyme and dill. You know I hate summer, but, this is my one reward for going thru it. haha :)

I am so darn stubborn that I will not let this puzzle beat me. I finished all of the white pieces and green pieces which means I am 50% done. I won't give up.

this is (one of many) traffic lights in our city, and it shows not the usual pedestrian male figure but it is a woman/girl named Sophie!
