Is it Japanese , Chinese, or Korean?

I have a large folder named "Asian." I plan to do a couple pages on the Japanese Gardens in San Francisco. I do not want to be culturally insensitive by using Korean, or Chinese writing or motifs on these pages. I've been to China, so I know some differences, but not very many. How can I tell the differences? (I know Geishas are Japanese, I know the Great Wall is in China, for example)
