We had a fantastic time at our family reunion! We then spent four days in Charleston. It is really beautiful there but it was also VERY HOT! I had pictured us walking around to all of these beautiful places I had looked up online. The great news is that we did get to see those places in the air-conditioned tour bus that we took! I would highly recommend a tour of the city if you are going in the very hot summer season. Our tour guide was amazing and we learned so much about the city. I even got interested in Eliza Pickney who was 17 and became wealthy making and selling indigo dye. There is a book about her called "Indigo Girl" which I am now listening to. We also took a boat tour which was also amazing!
Another wonderful place, if you haven't already been, that reminds me a bit of Charleston, is Savannah, Georgia. It's an incredible place to visit. We used to live in GA so I've been to Savannah many, many, many times.
I have never been to Charleston, but I have been to Savannah! We went on a Girl Scout trip when my youngest was in 7th grade...it was gorgeous, but also very HOT!! lol We did a tour bus there, it was fun!

and tried to walk a few of the streets but didn't get far. I have the book you mentioned ; Indigo Girl. I use it when I teach Indigo Shibori classes. Quite a story!
