style and palette.

I just looked at my gallery and give or take a few pages, most are neutral and browns for the backgrounds.

How do you make yourself scrap out of the box? I think I need more versatility!!

I know what you mean.. my pages seem to have a certain 'standard look' too... neutral/white background, blended photo, wordstrips, lots of journaling... I even seem to gravitate towards certain page design.. which is the reason why I love using templates - they help me create pages in a variety of styles... at least that's the idea, but in reality, even with a template, I tend to force my style onto virtually any template (or pick up a template that fits my style, lol). Even if I pick a kit that is totally out of the box for me, more oftent han not I manage to squeeze it into my box...

For 2023, I have made a deal with myself to make at least one layout a month that would be NOT my style at all... it's been 12 days only and I have one such layout made - the blue MAGIC one that I created for the fantasy/storybook challenge. Feeling rather accomplished now :)

Oh girl - you did it!! I need to challenge myself like that - make one page a week that is NOT my normal style! That could work!!!! I started my Project 52 for 2023 and it's pocket style and hardly any elements and NO drop shadows! I bought a template maker action for photo shop and am making my own pocket pages.

I like your pocket page Susie, - focused on the photos and journaling rather than all the flourish... This looks very different from all the AJ page you create.
