I Feel Like I Have a New Computer!

I bought my first Mac computer in January of 2020. I taught at a school that used Mac computers and loved them. I also had IPhones and iPad so I was a big familiar with Apple products. My computer worked well at first and soon it became sooooooooo slow. It would take fifteen minutes just to start up. I called Apple Care numerous times trying to fix the problem. In the meantime, I had bought a MacBook Air laptop and used that instead of my desktop computer since it was so slow. On Saturday I tried to install the latest update on my desktop computer. I tried for two and a half days. I finally called Apple Care. Since I have all my files backed up to Backblaze, we decided it was best to wipe my hard drive clean and then install the latest update. I feel like I have a new computer! I can't believe how fast it is now!

You are lucky!! My old iMac is sooo old that it won't support any of the new software updates, I can't even update my browsers, but I can still use it. I have it in my craft room and use it to watch You Tube videos or Movies LOL. I still love it, but I now have a brand new iMac that I love even more!!

Oh, Trudy! It's wonderful that you have a new Mac! It is always exciting to get a new computer! Mine is only five years old but has had problems for at least 3-4 years. I didn't have Backblaze then so I would not have wanted to erase it back then. I am so glad that you have a new computer and can still use your old computer to watch movies etc. I do know some people who use their older Macs even though they can't be updated. I always wondered how that would work out when mine got older. I use my laptop now to scrap on and am afraid to start adding a lot of stuff to my older Mac. I did use it to watch some movies on Amazon Prime last night!

Yayyy ! That will make everything so much easier. People always told me Apple products were so intuitive, not with me they weren't. Our friend was constantly messing up his Windows laptop & i•Pad . Don't know how many times I wiped & reloaded his, but I couldn't make heads or tails out of the iPad. My school had Apples then changed to PCs so I became the staffs unofficial tech person. I didn't mind so much except for one ding a ling who was messing hers up all the time and she'd come in while I was teaching a class in the library and interrupt me and tell me her computer, it wasn't work. Darlin' you may be able to leave your one kid alone in your room, you really think I'm going to stop teaching my 25 ? I'd just look at her and say, umm, I'm teaching? She'd go "oh" and leave. I've had PCs since the dinosaurs got theirs. Anyway, the whole point of my rambling, was to tell you I'm so happy you're computer is rejuvenated.

Wow, Jeanne! I am always amazed by people who can figure out and fix computer issues! I am baffled by my computer when it acts up! I’m so glad you are able to help the teachers at your school. I’m sorry about the one gal, though! She must keep you pretty busy!
