Have any travel plans coming up?

It's been a long time since we went on a trip and I really wanted to go somewhere this summer. However, my body is currently staging a rebellion. Again. Sigh. So right now my goal is to be well enough to go to Kauai, Hawaii for our 40th anniversary in October. It was Mr. Me's idea — because that's where he proposed. Sweet, huh?

I was thinking of ideas for what to scrapbook about our trip and then realized my notes would make a good blog article. I hope you find it helpful — Travel Scrapbooking 101: What to Collect and How to Get Started.

Do you have upcoming travel plans — or any other fun topics about your trip you like to include on your layouts?

My husband and I are going in an Amtrak train trip from St Louis to Portland, OR- stopping at Glacier National park for a few days. I am looking forward to it. Not too many scrapbooking kits for train rides though.

We are one month in on our 4 month camping trip. We left Florida on May 14 and are currently in Kanab UT-Grand Canyon, jeep ride in the dessert, Zion, local attractions.

Went to Panhandle FL, MS- Natchez Chase, TX- Lake Rayburn, Fort Worth, NM -Carlsbad Caverns, White Sands, Valley of Fires +, AZ- Sedona, Winslow,Sunset Crater Volcanao , in a few days we will go to NV-Hoover dam then back into UT to see the rest of the mighty five national parks and more. Then on to Grand Tetons and Yellowstone then we will work our way back to FL.

Story about the trip--I was helping dear friend have celebration of life for her hubby, working on loading the camper, making reservations, etc. My DIL called to say she was having a BIG blow out surprise party for our son's 50th. So I flew up for a few days then had 1 1/2 days to get ready to leave for our trip....I did get it done!

Good luck with the trip you are planning I hope it all works out for you, it would be so special. Both of our children have been there and loved it.

I'm such a homebody that I haven't traveled much. I also don't like planning trips so most of my vacations have been me tagging along on a trip someone else planned. I have been to Hawaii, though, many years ago, and I'd love to go again!

We're staying put this summer, enjoying the new province we moved to. It gives me time to plan for the fall, we might go on a cruise and a road trip with the dogs to Montana. I'm doing a lot of birding right now so am very happy to just stay here in town.

We'll be going to France in August. Can't wait, I really need the time off, not having to do anything else but relax and enjoy myself.
I also have times my body doesn't want what I want. But that never lasts too long. About a week or two and than I'm back.
Quess that makes me a lucky one :nod1::hug4:

Since my father had been in poor health for a long time, we did not dare to plan a holiday.
Now that he has passed away, we are still searching. The weather in Belgium has been bad since November, always rain, rain and more rain.
The 2nd week of July we will go to a holiday park in the Netherlands for a midweek with my daughter, her boyfriend and our granddaughter.
If the weather remains very bad, we would still like to take a plane and see where the weather is better.

We will be visiting family down in Ontario in August and then we are heading to Croatia for a month. We have been planning to go there since before Covid so I am super excited we finally get to make the trip.

I have a jam-packed summer planned, with family coming to visit us here in Jakarta this Saturday, followed by lots of family visits in CZ, a grad trip to Italy to celebrate my daughter's having finished high school and a subsequent short stay in Ireland to help her get all settled and ready for her university studies... Two months of travelling and seeing places and meeting people... I am really looking forward to it!

Last weekend in July we are headed to the beautiful northern Minnesota lakes area. We stay at a wonderful family-owned resort, in our same cabin every year. It's on a gorgeous chain of lakes with eleven lakes where we can go from lake to lake in the boat and admire the beautiful homes & landscaping. I have a cousin who lives on one of the lakes, so we get together with them and have a blast. Love to sit in the lawn chair with a Margarita and just enjoy the beautiful view.

Unfortunately I don't think we are going anywhere this Summer, but I would sure love to visit TX and see my daughter and the grand babies.

Wow. How long would that take? Glacier is a fabulous park! You’ll love it. It’s not train-specific, but my Artful Memories Travel collection is on a big sale right now.

I get the “homebody” thing. I used to love to travel, but as I’ve gotten older, I find the prospect less enticing. We used to go one of the Hawaiian Islands every year — usually Kauai or Maui and once to Lanai. It’s our favorite place to completely unwind, although things have changed a lot there in the past 40 years.

Lucky indeed! I’m having a second injection in my spine this week, so hopefully I can have more of a real life. France should be wonderful! I haven’t been there in at least 50 years.

Oh I’m so sorry for your loss! Big virtual hug from me! I hope you have a good trip to the Netherlands. The weather everywhere has been so strange and unpredictable. I hope it holds up for you.

Oh Croatia would be amazing! I hope you get some great pictures to scrap!

Minnesota is so beautiful! My sister lives in Eden Prairie and I couldn’t believe how green the state is!

Wow everyone is taking awesome trips...This is the first time in 2 weeks that we have had internet so I hope to catch up with people now.

Sounds like a really amazing trip Jane...Have a wonderful time..Boston has lots of history so I hope you enjoy that...well it's lots of history for the US nothing like the UK.

I grew up about 40 miles west of Eden Prairie. After 3 summers of drought , lots of rain this year so it is really green, unfortunately right now there is also some awful flooding going on.

Not until December when my niece gets married in Las Vegas. My sister and I will go out together. Can't wait. It's been since 1983 that we haven't done a trip together and she was little!

We left BC and now reside in southern Alberta, just outside of Calgary. We all love it. I wish the winter was a bit milder but we survived it and bought warmer clothing. What I do love about the weather is the sunshine almost every single day. We had left the big city (Vancouver) and moved to a smaller community (Kamloops) where felt too isolated, many businesses closed down, wildfires were scary and the summer heat was too much for me. We have found the perfect spot for us now, a small community (35,000) but only 20 min from the big city (Calgary). The weather fluctuates b/c of the chinook which means we have hot days, then cooler days, winds and then calm days...we get it all, it is always changing and we don't get days and days of any specific weather so it's all very tolerable IMO.

Chinooks refer to the warm winds that rush down the east side of the Rocky Mountains. Warm Pacific air travels over the mountains, cooling and losing a lot of moisture. The resulting relatively dry air rushes down the east side, compressing and warming up at a faster rate before blowing into areas, like Calgary, that border those mountains.

Maybe b/c of the amount of new residents that have come into the province in the recent years, but for whatever reason, Albertans seem to be some of the friendliest happy people I have ever met. It boggles my mind how welcomed we have been here and have made many friends already.

We visited Vancouver in 2008. I was lovely, but SO expensive. I’m so happy you e found a new home!

No vacation plans for July and August ... In September we are going to Fuerteventura ... one of the Canary Islands ...
