Halloween Plans?

Just curious if your part of the world is participating in Halloween events, this year.
Has your community come up with any alternatives to Trick or Treating?

Around here, they've had some neighborhood app discussions regarding the kids. Some neighborhoods are planning on delivering candies via long plastic tubes, from their porches to the sidewalks, at the road. Some are leaving bowls at the end of the driveways and sitting on their porches or driveways. Some are lining up trucks & cars and having the candy bagged and put in trunks so they can have controlled lines to go by and pick up their goodies.

What are some of your creative ideas from your communities? I'm just not sure if I want to participate this year?

No, not really. We will probably watch some scary movies, and I have some pumpkins in the house, but Halloween isn't a big thing in the Netherlands.

Halloween is a *big* deal in my house. If we are friends on FB you have probably seen videos and pics of the display that my husband builds every year. He has skeletons, a grave digger, zombie-- plus Moe and Vic. Moe has run over Vic Tim with his lawnmower. Everything is made from pieces and parts of junk and old motors. Nothing gets thrown out is my house until is passes the "Can it Be Used for Halloween Props?" test.

This year, a friend gave him an FM transmitter that he has hooked up to an old phone that players music that he adapted for his band, the Boo Frighters. They a spin-off of the Foo Fighters, the BFs are led by Grave Grohl instead of his namesake, Dave Grohl. :p

We have spooky decorations up year round but we put up even more stuff in late September inside. We were really late this year and finally decorated last night. My kids are 22 and 24 and we still have to do the entire routine/traditions every year.

As for Trick or Treaters, we never get many as it is. On a "good" year, we might go through 1 bag of candy. The display is on all day and the lights go on at dinner time, so people will stop by and take pictures. We have a mom on our street whose 2 boys have to come and visit every day. On Sunday, the boys (4-5 yos maybe?) were just sitting at the edge of our driveway. Gary went out and chatted a bit with them when they were back yesterday.

Oh and my town usually host a Trunk Or Treat event, this year they have adopted it to a drive-through system. I bet the kids will have fun!

Another dutchie here, i think halloween is biggest in our scrap world.
Only thing we would do is carve a pumpkin!
No kids for trick or treat!
We do see decorations more and more in stores.

normally do a lot of doggie halloween events but this year all canceled. my apt complex is doing a trunk or treat for first time - will see how that goes.

for whatever reason since living in apt have never had a trick or treater show up. so many kids at least this year around 8 - 12 now

Halloween is not a big party in Belgium either ... In our provincial park a Halloween event is going on ... but this year with the corona it is very limited and few visitors are allowed ... register quickly was the message ...
In the shops you also see more and more Halloween decorations ...
I don't participate myself ...
At school my grandchildren are allowed to go to school dressed up on the last day before the autumn break.
During the autumn holidays I will make 'spider soup', pumpkin muffins, cheese Monsters, rice stuffed peppers (halloween style) with them and we will also do 'halloween' themed crafts ....

Nothing planned this year, except maybe a Pumpkin Patch. No Halloween plans. We live out in the country so no trick-or-treaters. That's probably been cancelled anyway, this year. :( I guess there's a haunted house Saturday night, but I wouldn't ever go to a haunted house, especially on a Saturday night at Halloween. My GK's are going.

Nothing planned here. I've seen online that some businesses are doing a drive thru trick or treat thing. Our neighborhood never has tons of trick or treaters, so I gave up on getting candy years ago. It's one of the things I really miss about the Texas neighborhood I lived in before moving to Florida. Lots of trick or treaters. I used to dress up to hand out cany

I guess you could say I now have Halloween "plan." loosely speaking of course. Over the summer, my family was doing weekly theme nights and our favorite bay far was Halloween Night. My DD is in grad school (remote) and between course work and the 30+ hour a week internship, is swamped. Instead of weekly, we decided that we are going to them monthly and since it is officially Hallween, we are having a Halloween party! It will be the night before and will be the four of us, plus Leah (Scott's long term GF) who is part of our family bubble.
We are going to do some of the same foods as last time- the spider pretzel was so good and bloody eye ball deviled eggs. I am going to search out some more recipes too and go from there. It is going to be nice to have something to look forward to!
