I absolutely LOVE ESC! Been following for years and years, and I'm addicted to it. Watch every minute of it - even the parts where you hide behind a pillow of shame ;)

Fantastic this year: Engelbert Humperdinck! How cool is it that this icon is in ESC? The Russian ladies - toooooo cute. Jedward are always cute, but the song this year isn't as good as last years, sorry.

Of course I want Sweden to win. And I think the song this year is really good.

But I wouldn't mind if Croatia win. I bet 10 SEK on that song, and if it wins I get 2500 SEK :D
 
Darn it - we don't get it here in Canada - But after seeing the Russian Ladies I'd vote for them for courage!

I think the Dutch song is good. But her costume .... nooooooo
(but I'm sure Loreen - Sweden's singer - will wear something terrrible too, she usually does LOL)
 
The Eurovision Song Contest used to be one of those things everyone sat down and watched here but not anymore - I'm not even sure if it's shown on TV anymore. I have heard our Engelbert Humperdinck song and really quite like it - he can still hit those notes. But I think the Russian ladies have it in the bag. Do you think they are like Babushka dolls and stack back inside one another afterwards!

It's a point of honour here in the UK, and indeed Ireland, to do our best not to win. Poor old Ireland nearly bankrupted themselves by winning year after year in the 90s despite putting up worse & worse songs. Sadly, if it really were a singing competition Engelbert would be in with a real chance, but it is actually a political back slapping exercise, albeit with bright shiny costumes and a carnival atmosphere, which seems such a shame for the artists who put so much work into their performances.
 
Selena, I probably listened along with your Mum back when I lived in England. It was the thing to do! but so so over the top!

This is what I love about ESC. Some songs are fantastic and some are sooo incredibly bad they tip over to become good LOL ... and then all the songs in between. And all the clothes.

Oh .... I love ESC ... just wanted to make that clear in case anyone had missed that :rofl:
 
Bwahahaha that is truly the WORST entry I have ever seen!

I rest my case about deliberately trying not to win! And this time even irony doesn't come into it. I'm so glad I wasn't living in Europe in 2007, that was just too shameful. :attention:
