Scans of Titanic reveal wreck as never seen before
I saw this on BBC.com yesterday and had to share it. I think most people have a little bit of curiosity about the Titanic and more than a few have debated whether Rose had room for Jack on the door. But seeing these digital scans and all of the detail of the wreck is incredible. You can even see the serial number on a propeller.
It's amazing what technology can do, right?

And what do you think about Rose? There really was room for him, wasn't there? ;):angelwhistle:

Chris,
Did you click on any of the other links at the bottom of the article? "Haunting new footage....." says the French guy who discovered the wreckage back in 1985 says, "the search was actually a front for a hunt ordered by President Ronald Reagan to find two lost Cold War submarines." I wonder why he thought it necessary to use a "front" for the search?

I had read that second article- but only skimmed it toward the end. I missed that part about the search being a front to look for Cold War subs. I wonder if they were US subs and they were worried would be found by the USSR?
Interesting!

Those are some amazing photos, Chris. As far as Rose and Jack, yes, I think they could have tried a little harder to get Jack on that door. :brrr:

I've been so obsessed with anything about the Titanic. Looking back at the movie, I never understood why Jack didn't get on that door with Rose. It was like he just gave up.

I've never understand the fuzz about the Titanic movie. Saw it once & hated it. I will never ever understand this obsession Americans have with sad stories. Like how Romeo & Juliet can be deemed suitable for teens?! Maybe that's just in TV shows, and not in reality, but every teen show I've seen, there seem to be a drama class with Romeo&Juliet. Basically a story about teenage angst & a suicide pact. And then I haven't even mentioned Disney and his obsession with sad stories.

Ok, totally not commenting on Chris' initial post. Just got triggered by that effing door. LOL Will check the BBC article now.

I saw it in the movies when I was pg with Caitlyn. And between the rushing water scenes making me need to pee and the mom reading to her child, I was a mess. Emotions, bladder-- it all combined into one horrible experience :rotfl:
