Oh my...now it has been awhile since I opened the Daily O's. And here it is 3:45 pm and we are just getting it started. Just goes to show how much we all count on Chris!

Speaking of Chris, I hope that she is having a relaxing time at her mom's house...being totally pampered and spoiled!:-)

And I bet that Laurie is running around like a crazy woman checking each detail twice to make sure that the dance party is amazing. Which of course it will be because we've all seen the photos of that beautiful basement!

Nancy, Trudy, Phylis...where is everyone? I hope this means that everyone is having a nice quiet weekend.

I woke up this morning with the urge to accomplish something! We cleaned out closets for both kids this morning...3 big bags to Goodwill! And then proceeded to do some deep cleaning of rooms. Now, we are getting ready to go pick up a friend of Syd's for a sleepover. Cloudy and rainy here today. But can't complain since closets are clean!

I'm taking the two girls to see the movie Epic tonight...don't know if Brian and Shaun are joining us. Think we may go to the A&W for supper. I still have a goal to get a layout done this weekend!

hey, Linda!! hiya!! yep, hope Chris is enjoying some down time. her parents sound SO nice!

i'm not doing much. i did some ironing and laundry, then sat around a lot. thrilling...

everyone HAS to be having a more exciting day than i am!! have fun at the movie, Linda. the clean-out sounds awesome!! you inspire me!

good morning had a great day yesterday - it was my 39th wedding anniversary. We just had a calm day and then went to our friends home for a fish fry. There is nothing better than fresh fish. It is such a great group of friends. I downloaded an new app called Heads Up - Ellen plays it all the time on her TV show - and it was such fun. My girlfriend and I started and it drew in everyone. Even the guys were having a great time yelling out clues and guessing. We never kept score it was just the fun of playing. Friday night we took my DIL out for her birthday to the Melting Pot. It was really fun. She loved the gift. And she loved the fondue too. We all laughed and it really was fun. Hockey is getting down to the final 4 with the elimination of the NY Rangers. So in the East it is the Pens vs the Bruins. Should be a great series. Still have games from the West so that is exciting too! Of the 6 teams left only the San Jose Sharks have yet to win a Stanley Cup. Today really is just a calm day. I need it to warm up! Though my weather man is saying that by Thursday it will be summer with highs in the upper 80s. I will see LOL

Chris I hope you are having a great weekend -

Phylis nothing wrong with calm days

Linda congrats on the cleaning out of closets! Epic seems like a wonderful movie for the girls.

Have a great day!

Good morning ladies! Loved Epic. At first I thought that it was going to be slow but it actually went fast and I found it quite entertaining. The girls enjoyed it too. Brian and Shaun went to the movies as well...they caught the new Star Trek movie and both enjoyed it.

Looks like we have another ugly, gray day ahead with rain. Not what I want for Memorial Day weekend. The neighborhood pool opened on Friday but don't think anyone will be swimming this week.

Nancy, the fish fry sounds like fun. Happy anniversary...39 years is quite an accomplishment.

Phylis, think that ironing and laundry is always a lot of work! And, although the closets are done, I really need to tackle my office as well!

Now to get some inspiration and scrap a page. Think I'll go jump in the shower and have a cup of coffee first!

morning all - Linda you were correct- I was running around like a mad woman. Now to clean up today. Only one spilled drink, but lots of dropped snacks. We all had a great time and plan on doing this monthly. I know we will have a fun time. Our dance instructors came (our sons age) and stayed until midnight. I didn't dance as much as I had hoped, but maybe next time. I plan on cleaning up down there, playing in my craft room (also called cleaning up) and working in my garden today. I also want to scrap some. We are having sunny but not too hot weather today.

Laurie, you're going to have the dance thing at YOUR house once a month?? yikes! sounds like a lot of work...but fun!

Nancy, happy anniversary!! your celebration sounds like it was fun.

Linda, how did they like the Star Trek movie? i enjoyed the first one (the new series,) so i'm hoping this second one doesn't disappoint. i adore Benedict Cumberbatch! what a voice!

today, DD requested a cookout, so just a little three-person hamburger/hot dog event. the sun is shining, at least, and it's a bit warmer than it's been. i had to cover my plants again last night because of a frost warning....

enjoy the weekend. spend some time thinking about all the kids in uniform who are doing their best, wherever they're sent. and please remember those who didn't make it home. God bless them all.

Hello O-family
Boy, do I have something to share!
The other thing that we really *had* to do this weekend was to go to a wedding for one of my husband's work friends. I had never met the couple, though.
2:00 Feed our 4 children lunch
2:30 Husband says, "we have to leave in a half hour to get there in time". (wedding was at 4:30). I said, "it takes an hour and a half?" He says, "yes," and he pulls up his gps to show me. "Oh, wait. . .this says it takes 2 hours and 17 minutes".
3:00 babysitter arrives
3:20 we finally leave (my car gps says 2 hours 45 minutes, with a slightly different route)
3:38 stop for gas $73.69
4:30 The wedding starts, we are only about half way there
5:23 We make it to the address on our maps. It is a broken stone wall in an empty field. We double check 3 maps.
5:27 We drive further up the rode - twice
5:45 We drove to the town proper and circled the entire 121 person town. No sign of a wedding.
5:52 Go back to the location that was all 3 maps say is the location of the address. Drive really far on the map.
6:00 head back home - laughing and shaking our head
*what do you do??
8:17 pass home a little and go to nearest Best Buy to shop for movies and music
9:00 Best Buy kicks us out $128.45 less in our pockets
9:16 Go to local grocery store to buy snacks (we didn't get dinner since we thought we would be eating at the wedding) $92.93
9:28 go to atm to get cash for babysitter
9:37 finally arrive home, pay babysitter $70 for watching kids 7 hours for a wedding that we never made it to.
10:15 - End night with dinner of Brie and crackers while watching Silver Linings Playbook
If you add the $56 for card and gift card for the bride and groom, our total costs - $421.07 - the most expensive non-wedding that I have EVER been too!

hope Chris is relaxing!

Linda - Sounds like you had a very productive day! I have been wanting to get to the movies and it just never happens

Phylis - I would take that calm day! Enjoy those

Nancy - 39 Years! That is fabulous. We love the Melting Pot, too!

Laurie - That sounds like a fun party. A little jealous of your new remodel!

Meagan - sounds like a scrap page for sure!!

@Phylis-really not much work- have people bring food and drinks and then we dance!

 Megan that is quite an adventure!

Laurie, sounds like it was a great time.

Phylis, they both really liked this one. Thought that it might be better than the first.
