Good Morning ladies... Chris is hopefully having a wonderful time at the shore with her Mom, so I will start this thread this morning. It is a bit chilly in our house this morning. The heat pump is on the fritz and I will have to make a phone call to the company that services them today. It seems to be blowing only cold air and not much heat coming out of it. Thanks goodness we have a fireplace in the living room and an electric fireplace in the kitchen. I have a bad feeling that this is not going to be an inexpensive fix :mmph: We might be saying goodbye to our warm vacation that we are planning this winter. I was MIA from here yesterday and on Sunday, so I have some catching up to do with all of you here today! So I will go and read through the happenings from the weekend and come back to chat with all of you.

Ok I am back and so happy to see that Nancy came through her surgery and is doing very well with her recovery! Today will be a rainy day, the rest of the week is supposed to be the same with lots of precipitation expected. A usual fall forecast for this part of the world! I received lots of photos and txt messages from the kids over the weekend, everyone had a wonderful time and they said that the fall colours were just spectacular!! They all had turkey dinner on the Saturday night and then spent all of Sunday touring around Ottawa and taking in the sights of the beautiful city! I have not been there for a few years and I think that the fall would be a lovely time to go again! DS wants us there in the summer when we can enjoy the pool, which would be great as long as it is not that horrible humid heat! Anyway we are happy that they were all together for the Thanksgiving weekend and that the trip there and back was good for Heather and her boys!

Chris - I sure hope that you are having a lovely time with your Mom on the Jersey Shore! Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the weather is cooperating and you get to soak up some sunshine!

Nancy - WTG on doing so well with your recovery so far! I hope that this time around goes smoothly and you are pain free! Sorry that your Devils are not playing the way that you had hoped they would. Sure hope things improve for them soon! I imagine that you will have lots of time to do some scrapping and watching lots of sports oh and of course get your knitting going too! Glad to hear that the guys are treating you well and I am sure they will be happy when you are fully healed and taking care of them again LOL.

Felis - I have never tried rose hip jelly! I hope that you are able to plant your bushes in your garden and that they will grow right alongside all of your other roses! Nice that you will be spending time with your Mother helping her out with some of her projects! I will have to take a look at what you have been scrapping lately, I have lots of commenting to catch up on!

Jean - The In-Laws phoned last night and said they are finally feeling much better and will pop in later on today to pick up some things they left here a while back. They are getting their flu shots and I really should go and get mine right away also! I am hoping to get a painting done very soon, but with the heat pump not working right now it will be chilly in the craft room. I might have to bring up the little portable heater. Hope you are enjoying a nice relaxing day today!

Well I was hoping to get to the pool this morning, but I guess I will have to wait and see what time the heat pump guys will arrive. I hope all of you have a wonderful day and get to do something more fun than I will be doing today LOL.

I think it must be nice on the Jersey shore for Chris and her mom. It is a pretty sunny day here but the view out our windows is the pits as the "tree butchers" are here. They're the folks contracted out by the power company to "trim" trees around the power lines that run between our backyards. They chop away with no regard to what they're doing. It's always disgusting! Anyway this afternoon we're got an appointment the other side of the city and after will get lunch and then I'm planning to shop for some new smaller clothes at a Cabellas that we'll be near.

Trudy, thanks for starting the thread today. The "kids" must have had a nice holiday weekend and good they shared photos with you so you can feel a little bit part of it. Fall color isn't much here yet, but Ottawa is quite a bit north of us. Glad the ILs are feeling better and stopping by. Fingers crossed the heat pump isn't too dear a fix.

Waving to all and hoping Chris and mom are having a great time.

Thanks for starting this thread, Trudy. What a bummer about the heat pump not working right. And waiting for the repair guys to show up is the pits. I will be doing the same thing tomorrow - waiting for the guys to show up to pick-up the recliners. I know that they will be useful to the homeless shelter.

Our Indian summer is here... warm [low 70's] days but down to just above freezing at night. So glad I have the warm down comforter on the bed. Turned the A/C over to heat but it hasn't kicked on yet... the house is staying around 66 at night. Know that won't last long. I did open the house up yesterday as it got up to 74 outside. Maybe the last time this year.

Sorry I haven't been posting here lately. A couple of nights ago, I had a very realistic dream that my hubby was here with me again. Needless to say, I was so sad to wake and find it was just a dream.

good day - well being by myself is good but that meant i had to do more for myself so after pt in the am and then all my walking my body hurt. Today was more rehab and he had me walking with just the cane so that made me very happy. Walker when by myself but cane when someone is home. My Devils lost again yesterday after being ahead 4-1 they lost 6-4. There was booing at the Rock. With all the moves made over the summer it has taken longer for them to mesh than fans had hoped. The Devils are the only team not to have a win.

Chris so glad the weather is perfect today. However I got a flash flood warning for tomorrow. Enjoy today.

Trudy thanks for opening the thread! So sorry about the heat pump that cannot be fun to have cold air blowing on you. I have the heat on and my head throw so I am nice an comfy. Boston Bruins are doing well! I bet Thanksgiving was so nice as the sibs and kids got together. Hope you well get you warm winter trip.

Jean are you watching the baseball? The Yankees and Astros are a good match. And I know what you mean about city tree trimming. It is not the best and sometimes in our area they will cut the young trees and leave the old dying.

Kay so sorry about the dream and it making you sad. But I think it is very telling just how much you and your husband were in love. glad you are having your summer weather.

Have a great day all!
