Daily Ooo's Weekend edition November 10 & 11

lOve the O!
Morning O peeps! Thought I would run in here before Chris gets up and say hey- what's happening with you this weekend? Sadly my tablet was not under warranty, and my choices were (since 3 days before it went wonky I let my son use my tablet to upgrade his phone) buy out for $350, or pay $20 a month for total of $480 to let the contract run out, or (never go to verizon at the end of the week/end of your workday) buy a new tablet for $350 and continue to pay the contract out- but at least you have something to do- somehow in the store it sounded good, but once I left and got thinking about it, I went- what- I really didn't save any money, just made it so I can continue to use my tablet/ereader on trips, for reading and to be at the O at lunch at work. This one does run faster than the old one, so that is good!

Today we have dance, we are going to a gun range as MMG wants to buy handguns. Not sure what else is on the agenda- maybe getting ready for Thanksgiving holiday week- which I have off!!!! I know just finished having a week off and now another one- I am liking that- think I will go through the calendar and make some 3-4 day off combos for each month- can you say sanity?

SANITY!!!! I so get what you are saying Laurie! I work all of next week and then only two days Thanksgiving week! And 87 days from now we will be leaving for Maui! Still thinking that I will need to take a couple of days off around Christmas to make some nice little vacations there!

We start off with indoor soccer this morning at 9 (Syd) followed by basketball at 11:30 (Shaun). Then basketball tomorrow at 1 (Syd). But otherwise, it's not looking too bad. Maybe some me time!

Morning ladies, up early this morning!! It was only 4 30 when I dragged my butt out of bed, not fair on my day off that I cannot sleep in  So I thought I would see who else was up at the "O".

Laurie - It's funny how they always make things sound so good in the store and then you start to think about what just happened and you usually say WTH??? Hope you enjoy your new tablet!! LOL I guess they really did not give you much in the way of choice did they :noidea: Have fun at dance today! You two will really be able to cut a rug when you go on your dinner and dance date in December!!

LindaS - Your vacation sounds so far away!! But I bet the time flies by quickly for you! You are so busy!! You really do need to take this vacation!! Have a fun weekend with all of your sports activities, hope you find some of that me time somewhere !

SIL is coming up after her work shift today, then spending the night so we can go to the Remembrance Day Parade together tomorrow and meet up with the rest of my hubby's side of the family. They are all coming to see MG march in the Parade in his Red Serge, then we are all heading out for lunch together, should be fun! Hope the rain stays away this year, its seems so to always be raining for Remembrance Day. Not much else on the agenda for today, except getting some calendar pages finished. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Good am and I can finally say that I HAVE MY POWER BACK. I have no Internet or tv but I have lights that go on when I flip a switch. This morning went to bath room and when I tunn on the lights they actually came on. It is still a surprise because after 11+ days I had gotten used to the dark. Amazing what a habit it is for 11 days I alway flipped the switch even though I knew that I did not have power. Off to clean and then off to a friends house for dinner.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Nancy - So happy that you finally have some power!!! It must be such a relief!! Hope you are enjoying having light again!! Enjoy your dinner out, always nice when you don't have to be the cook!!

Linda, i love it when you do your Maui Countdowns!!

Nancy, TG you've got power! i can't imagine not having electricity for 11 days. did you guys stay in your house all that time?? weren't you FREEZING??

Laurie, have fun at the range! and Happy New Tablet!

Trudy, i beat you by 1/2 hour. 4 a.m. THIS IS SATURDAY!!! we're supposed to STILL be sleeping!!! hope it doesn't rain on your (Remembrance Day) parade.

i think i'm house cleaning today. woot. :mmph: <--- i am the inspiration person for this....

Happy Weekend!

Oh my Nancy! Eleven days with no power! I'm so glad that part is over for you.

Good morning Phylis. Cleaning? You go girl! How was the doctor?

Trudy, sounds like the parade may be a good time for some photo ops...especially if there is sun!

Yes I can't tell you how nice to have lights. We have a generator so while we were not on the grid the generator powered the frif, freezer, and tv and DVD player. But being without real power was draining and so dad a lot and watched movies. I think the not knowing frazzled me. I know my dh has it much worse as he never knows if the train will be running or if he will have to take the bus. NJ Transit is really doing their best but for commuters it is hard. Cleaning feels so good and now a clean house in parts still a lot to do.

Phylis hope doctor visit went well

Linda how fun to be going to Hawaii. We loved our visit there

So, just finished my first private lesson at the gun range. It certianly was nothing like I thought, but I enjoyed the precision of it. There were as many if not more women as men there.

Hi ladies.....I am still kicking....it's just been an overwhelming week for me...I didn't sign on, very unusual for me, to not at least come lurk and read the threads! I either didn't have time or didn't feel like it....

But.....today..............well things are looking up...I GOT MY HAIR DONE!! WOOOOOT!! I love getting all blonde and sexy!! :becky: yeah...just call me hoochie mama!!! I told my girl that if I won the lottery, I was hiring her to be my personal hairdresser....she could shampoo my head and fix my hair every day!!! I just love it!! The only thing that would make the entire experience any better is if it was some hot hunk offering me chocolate too!! :pound:

I have got get busy on some scrapping...maybe tonight and tomorrow!! Next week, I have a few things that I have to do....starting Monday taking my car in to replace the thermostat...Not having heat on these icy mornings is a pain!!! I finally get heat in the car once the weather has warmed up to 60 in the afternoon...Bwhahahaha...who needs it then!!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH...one more little note....

another grandbaby on the way :becky:

This will be #9 (Mike's youngest daughter is pregnant)

Good morning! Congrats on the new grandbaby Nana. And congrats on the new do...that can really give you a lift can't it?

Gray and gloomy in Iowa...hope you are having better parade weather Trudy.

It was beautiful here yesterday...75 and sunny. I commented to the family that "this might be the last time we see this kind of weather until we get to Maui in February." I hope that isn't the case but I love talking about going to Maui. :-)

Got some scrapping done yesterday. And some time to hang around the gallery for inspiration. Hope to get a few minutes to try again today!

Linda, MORE Maui talk, please!!

Nana, congrats on the New Grandbaby!

Laurie,
I enjoyed the precision of it
you must be a lot better at shooting that i am!! there wasn't a lot of "precision" involved when i was shooting at the target!

going for a sonogram on Tues., (re: how the dr. apt went.) at least none of the testing will involve hoses and orifices yet....

enjoy Sunday. we actually HAVE some sun!

phylis

Phylis- hopefully the sonogram will get to the bottom of it. As far as precision- I meant I was competitive enough to want to try to hit the target- pleased that some got in the middle some = 7 out of many trials- I never got past the seeing two targets with both eyes open- but consider that a challenge for the next visit.
