Daily Ooo's Weekend edition July 21 & 22nd

LaurieW

lOve the O!
Morning O fam- it is a sunny under 90 degree day here- life is good. May need to actually mow the lawn this weekend- but first- dance lessons and visiting some wineries. Hope to get some great photos to scrap.

What is keeping you busy this weekend???

Good morning! Beautiful here this morning...68 degrees. However, by 4, we will again see upper 90's. Have I mentioned how tired of this I am?

It has been a long week...and I suspect that I have a long one ahead as well. However, a week from today, I will be on vacation so I'm counting on that to get me through.

Need to go check yesterday's Daily O's and see what is happening around here.

Ok, lots to do with personals from yesterday!

Donna, I'm sorry about the move for your mother. It sounds like it was a very good plan and I know that her being happy makes it much easier for both of you. However, I am sure that you must really be missing her! ((hugs)) to both of you! And those triple digit temps...we too are facing those this week. I'm really tired of it but guess soon enough it will be winter and then I can talk about how cold it is and how "I'm really tired of it."

Chris, the house inspection went well. There are some things that would need to be fixed but nothing major. Biggest thing would be replacing the wall oven. It wouldn't start. I don't think we could go long without an oven. :-) Now, we just need to see what they say when they inspect our home on Tuesday.

And oh how I wish you lived closer too! What a great time that would be! One of these days I'm going to pop out to visit. And we can just talk and talk! In the meantime, we will keep on with our Daily O's.

And I am certain that your old gyno would love to see you again. Why don't you call and find out? :-)

Trudy, so glad that you and DD are having such a good time together. Too bad that her BF wasn't able to come but glad that you are getting the time.

Phylis, what a pain about the trees! I am sorry that you have to deal with the pouting...hope that it ends quickly...although, I'm guessing here, that the pouting will now continue at least until the trees are down!

Cinda, we so need that rain that you were talking about. Where are you from? I live in Iowa and it has been so hot and so dry...we need some relief.

Eva, your comment about the ants cracked me up.

Nana Linda, your running makes me tired... But great job by J-bug on the puzzle. How impressive is that! And what a great attention span...

Ok, off to get ready for the swim meet! It's the end of the summer season so it is the conference meet and takes forever...but, then no more nightly swim practices! I think that I'm going to try to get some scrapping done today! Will definitely be back later.

Hood morning!! I am somewhat mad at myself today. I feel like the summer is ticking by and I am doing NOTHING. So unmotivated. I guess I am in maintenance mode. Just doing the little possible to squeak by. Bills are paid, food on the table. But other than that.... not much of anything at all.

I didn't get out of bed until almost 9. And here is is after 10 and I just on the computer drinking coffee, My day is going to be over and I'll have lost another summer.

whinewhingewhine

I know what I have to do. I have to get back to my detailed To-Do list. Its the only thing thatreally keeps me on track. And I need to add things that I enjoy to it as well. That way when I have an extra hour, I can blog or take photos. Instead I waste time on Facebook. :der:

Maybe that is something I can work on today...get my list going and get motivated.

Sounds like a plan?? Here i go!!
:faint:

Maybe not just yet..... :pound:

Laurie- enjoy your day! Poor Scott is bummed with the little rain we have had the grass isn't growing which means the neighbors don't need him to mow which means he is not making any $$.

Enjoy the wineries!

Linda S- have fun at the meet today, hope the kids do great! Great news about the house- it should be too big for them to replace or fix the oven right? Fingers crossed for yours on Tuesday.
Stay cool!!

another morning at the Laundromat. still a bit apprehensive about our well and what's to come if we don't get a LOT of rain over the next few months. nothing else much on today. i'm thinking this is "can we order a pizza for dinner" night. i'm just not into cooking today. i made some almond flour CC cookies for myself yesterday, and they are as flat as a pancake because of the really high humidity we're having now. well. better than 98 degrees and 30 % humidity and nosebleeds!

Chris, i love how you got to ease into your weekend! have another cup of coffee.

Nana, the puzzle news is amazing. i am just so impressed with her keeping at it for that much time! i know adults who couldn't do that!

Linda, glad all the "inspecting" seems to be going well. it's only 63 here right now, and we're going to be 79 later, NOT in the 90s, TG.

Laurie, taste some wine for ME! have fun!

Hi, Cinda! nice that you dropped by!

Eva...Raid?!!

Happy Saturday. Do something you love. and order a pizza for dinner....

From yesterday:

Eva- hahahah!! You still made a net loss if you only brought 4 back back.
Bridges in NJ- yup that would be about right. I think that NJ is technically a peninsula with the Delaware River separating us from Pennsylvania on the western side of the state and the Hudson River on the east. Anyone who works/travels to NYC has to use one of the bridges or tunnels to get in. And all it takes is *one* accident to tie up traffic for miles and hours. Which is why you'll here me say it takes 50 minutes to get to NYC from my house *without traffic.* LOL Typically it will take an hour and a half!

I still have to see if I can find that photo of the family in the booth at the restaurant where Tony sat.
I did find the pics of the April Fool's Tattoo Caitlyn on my computer yesterday. They were buried in a folder withing a folder. Scrap material for sure!

Nana-- I hear ya on the routine- which is why I think I need to get back to my to-do list. But i think that your routine needs are the opposite of my laziness! Bet that the Superhero camp was a blast! And good for Jaiden and the puzzles!!!

Cinda- It rained all day yesterday and I was thrilled!! How old are your boys? I never want to clean either, especially since it never lasts.
Hope you had a great day and welcome to the OOO's!

Phyllis- all I have to say is MEN!!! :frusty: You just can't win, can you?? Did he ever understand where you were coming from re: the tree?
And I am very close to telling him the same thing- I am not your mother and Ihave spent the last 6 years taking care of sick kids while being sick myself. I don't need/want to do any more.
Then..... I think of the necessity of the kids, especially Scott, to know if there is a history of prostate cancer in the family.
Which makes me yell MEN!! :frusty:

hahahah!!! It never ends, does it???

Kibbe sounds good minus the lamb. tee hee. I could do it with ground turkey and be ok though. (I know, I am weird) But I looove pine nuts and cook eat them every day.

Trudy- what fun plans do you and your girl have today? That is a bummer that Jonah can't visit, but then you get to have DD to yourself. heh!!

TTYS!!
(((((((((hugs)))))))))))

Morning all ... a quick :plane: for me today as I have to get ready to go to the Calico Cat today. Our annual tea leaf reading, with DD, Aunt Betty and SIL Linda. Can't wait! We have a wonderful time when we are all together!! Last year MIL came, but she was such a downer and complained the whole time that we decided to not invite her this year. Every time we talked about doing it again, she would say "I"m not going!" So I don't feel bad about not asking her to come this time. after the reading and lunch we are all heading to the Mall to do some shopping that SIL wants to do then we are going to see Magic Mike LOL. A full day of fun with the girlies, it just does not happen often enough. Hope to catch up with all of you tomorrow. Have a wonderful day and do what makes you happy!!

Trudy. I WANNA COME!!! this sounds like such a fun day. (i had to laugh about the not inviting MIL thing....)

A tea reading-- how awesome is that???? The closest I have ever come to a tea reading was with Professor Trelawney. "The Grimm!!" tee hee!!

How did it go, any fun info? I totally don't blame you about not inviting MIL, who needs a cranky pants?

How is the Ant Battle going Eva? My friend gets them at her house pretty bad and uses some borax, sugar, and cotton ball concoction to kill them without chemicals. She has really good luck with it.

I was able to get some stuff knocked off my to-do list yesterday. Today I have to bring Scott to his friend who is a girl but not quite a girlfriend's house. She lives over a half-hour away so I am going to try to do some errands on the way home. There goes my afternoon :D

Hope you all have a great day!!!

Chris, where do you find afordable pine nuts? i used to make my pesto with pine nuts, but they're either unavailable or sooo expensive. plus, there was this weird thing with Chinese pine nuts in the USA a while ago where the pine nuts from there (which include a whole LOT of brands sold in the USA) were actually the kind not meant for human consumption. it made you taste "metal" for several days after you ate them. i freakin' LOVE globalization. :frusty: i switched to walnuts for my pesto.

Professor Trelawney. "The Grimm!!" tee hee!!
snort....

looks like we're getting back into the mid-80s today. wonder if i'll be able to stand it? honestly, you just can't make me happy. yesterday it was freezing all day. 70 degrees. and i moaned about it. :mmph: <--- me. today i think i need to do some housework. there's piles of "me" all over the place that i need to decide what to do with.

Merry Sunday. and a Happy New Week ahead.

When it comes to ants the expression "When one door is closed another one opens" seems to be true :mad2:

I'm ready for no more enviromental safe crap - let's go for deadly killer chemicals! ;)

P- I get pine nuts at BJ's (warehouse club crap) Its still expensive- probably about $12 for a bag, but I leave "Do not Touch" post-its on it so my family won't snack on them.
I used to make a walnut-spinach pesto over whole wheat pasta that was delish- until my family decided that they didn't like it any more.

Trudy, can't wait to hear more about your adventure!

And Laurie, how were the wineries?

Chris, good for you on that to do list!!!

Phylis, we are supposed to hit 100+ three days in a row! I really don't think that I can stand it much more!

Hi ladies... Well our ladies day was so much fun!! The tea reading was great and for the first time the physic talked to my DD about her illness, she hit it bang on, (kinda spooky) but she said that my DD had four angels watching over her, one was my mother and another was a doctor. Not sure about the other two. It was a very long reading for her and all very positive and brought tears to everyone's eyes. Mine was pretty good too, she said she saw me gambling and winning big. I am not a gambler, but we are planning a trip to vegas in September so you never know?? Won't go into too much more, I don't want to bore you all. We had a wonderful day together and hope to do it again for years to come! Will be scrapping a page about it soon, I just have to find some time to be on my computer. Not much of that these days, but that's ok, I am loving having my DD home with me again!

Eva - Hope you finally get rid of those ants! Sometimes you just gotta resort to those bad chemicals and just nuke the buggers!! :boom:

Phylis - I wish you could have come with us too!! It would have been double the fun having you there with us! Hope the high temps don't drive you

Chris - Glad you got some of your to do list done! Enjoy the rest of the weekend! Wish you could have been at the reading with us too!

LindaS - Try to keep cool today! Can't imagine trying to do all that you do with those high temps to deal with too!

Well better get some breakfast going and then some cleaning to do, spare bed to make up as SIL is coming to spend a couple of days with us. Work tomorrow but SIL and DD will probably talk it up all night long, better get the wine chilled for them. So nice that they are such good friends! Mom's a party pooper and has to go to bed early, but I know they will have a good time! Tuesday is my day off and we are heading to Victoria to do some clothes shopping for DD. Should be a great day! Take care everyone!

Evening O fam- just got back from our winery weekend- we stopped at 3 on Saturday and 4 today. It was fantabulous- we bought many cases so should be stocked up for quite some time. We had a wonderful dinner at the last winery yesterday. One of today's wineries had wine pairing with Christmas cookies and another had a giant pink elephant. When we got home we were greeted with- horseflies- I hate horsefly season. Tomorrow after work I will get to mow lawn and be dive bombed by them. Photos will eventually follow- layouts too I hope!
