Happy hump day!
Yesterday was another blissful day in Faeryland. /snark
Food shopping was ok with the exception of Gary's insulin being even more expensive than it was the last time so we are looking at $400/month just to keep him alive. Thanks, US Healthcare system. /more snark
It all makes me so :frusty:

I made the famous honey tofu/chicken for dinner last night which is one of the ones that takes me forever to do but it is yummy. But ack, the prepping and cooking and then cleaning the pots and pans and the time spent in the kitchen- 2 1/2 hours all combined. Cait will have the tofu leftover cold for breakfast. (eww! but healthy for her)

I was also watching Irma. It is horrifying of the size and intensity. To all of the people in its path, be safe. It just occurred to me that I should give my mom a call, my Aunt lives right on the coastline of southern FL and my cousin does too, but slightly more inland- West Palm Beach and Boynton Beach. I hope that they will evac. if necessary although my Aunt is stubborn and has stayed where she was in previous storms and the last one that hit she went to my cousin's whose house is better equipped for hurricanes.

Today is Scott's first day back at school and this is the new one. I bet he is going to be really happy that all of the buildings are connected because it has been pouring here since yesterday afternoon. I am off to clean and then make butternut squash pasta for dinner. It is cool and rainy so an Autumn dinner seems appropriate.

Here's to everyone having a fun day ahead!:tea:

Sorry that I didn't make it back yesterday, I had to be ready to go to get Scott to work on time. Gary was able to get the tire patched and then we dropped the car off for him at work. We still can't figure out what the clunking sound is so he will be taking my car to school and I'll take the VUE to work since it is in town. We have 4 freaking cars and only 2 are reliable. Meh.

So for yesterday....

Nancy- that is good news that DH's classes are all covered. Cait's Theory of Personality class still doesn't have a Prof. They had one covering on Thursday, but no one showed yesterday. This is a class that most people are taking b/c they need to to get their Psych degrees.
How exciting to get the new recliner tomorrow! Hope it is super comfy and that no one steals it on you LOL

Trudy- yay!!!!!!!!! That must have been great having the family with you all weekend. I am sorry that your temps are still so high that they couldn't be on the boat but that meant you got them! I saw a map the other day that was marking all of the wild fires out west and it looked like it covered 1/4 of the continent, north to south. :(
I really shouldn't complain at all about the non-summer weather we had. While it wasn't what I enjoy, at least it isn't so extreme like everyone else seems to be dealing with.

Rae- is it true that most people in the PNW don't have AC? That sounds incredible considering everyone in NJ that I know has some form of AC. Funny that your ILs came up to cool off as well as visit.
Hope that you got all of your work done and that DH didn't distract you too much!

Jean- bet you had a very productive day yesterday, did you finish Maya's template challenge yet? It looks adorable to work with. *grumbles about cars* It never ends... for sure...

good morning - well it rained last night but Luther and my son made it back before it soaked them and then this morning my DH took him in the rain but luckily for me it stopped so I could take Luther in sun but now it has clouded up again and more rain expected all day. And boy is it humid! Once we get past this rain it should be a nice stretch of sun and cool in the 70s weather. Watched Venus come back and win her match in a tie breaker in the 3rd set. The American women are doing so well. It has been a long time since there were more than just Venus and Serena. Finished all the books in the one series and now back to scrapping. It was a fun series!

Chris that is the pits about the cars. OMgosh they are so annoying when not working. They used to make cares that anyone could fix and now it requires a computer to even figure out what is wrong. Cant wait to hear how Scott enjoys his new school and classes. I know what you mean about cooking. I feel like I have to clean just to cook and then it is a mess again. My DH is usually very good about cleaning up the mess. Hope the rain is not too bad. And yes having to hurricanes so close together is horrible and thinking about all those effected.

Trudy wow how lucky for you to spend so much time with family. Sounds wonderful! I have been seeing all the news about the fires and smoke. Hope you get some rain soon to put out those fires. Saw today that one fire was started because kids were throwing fire works over a cliff. So sad that they don't realize the effects of their stupidity. Glad that you got caught up on work now maybe you can relax.

Rae I did not have AC until we got Luther. I could deal with the heat the few days we had in the summer but boy now that we have our window AC in the downstairs I am so glad. I have gotten weak in my old age. But Luther would really be suffering. Sounds like Taz had a great time if he is tired. Have fun with D in the afternoons.

Jean the Yankees waited 2.5 hrs of a rain delay to lose to the Orioles in a walk off home run by Manny. They came back from a 5 run deficit to defeat the Yankees. I don't see the Yankees making it past the wild card game. Good luck to your team.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... OMG it is so smokey here today, I can barely see across the lake at the bottom of the hill. They are saying that this smoke is from the Washington State fires, the West is burning up :help: I would love to have all the doors and windows open to cool the house off a bit, but ugh the smoke and there is even some ash floating around now. Well I almost forgot that I had a hair appt. yesterday, so I got my cut and colour and it feels so nice! However it meant spending a few hours in the beauty salon and so no scrapping done for me again yesterday. Perhaps today?? I wonder what the day will bring? :becky:

Chris - Oh brother, how can they keep charging even more for Gary's insulin?? What is really frustrating is that it probably costs $5 to make the stuff :gaah: I went through that with Heather while out visiting her, she had a rash all over her face and the cream the dr prescribed was going to cost $389.00 are you kidding!!!! I went right back to her dr and said do you know how much this cream is????? He was stunned because it was a cream that has been around forever. Heather's disability did not cover it, I said it probably only costs a few bucks to make and he agreed, so he found something oral that she could take and there was no charge for it. It did the same thing, so how can one be covered and the other not??? I will never understand it!! I hope that Scott's first day at his new school goes well and that you are able to get all four of your cars in working condition soon!

Nancy - How nice that you were able to get in your walk with Luther in the sunshine. Please send some of that rain out this way, it is supposed to maybe rain tomorrow but only a 30% chance so I doubt we will see any at all. I don't know how you could have survived without the air conditioning before, it gets so humid and hot where you are, I would just die. We don't have central air, but we do have a geo thermal heat/cooling system it works wonderfully out here on the West Coast as our temps are usually pretty mild compared to the rest of the country and it keeps the house toasty warm in the winter and nice and cool during the summer. I love having the windows and doors open early in the morning however just to get the fresh cool air in the house, but not today, it is far too smokey
Yes there are some really stupid people out there, sometimes when I am driving I see people throwing their cigarettes out the window, ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? :gaah: do you not have a brain in your head??? Sounds like you have been enjoying your tennis matches, I need to get to the gallery and see all of your pages, you always do such an amazing job of them!

Rae - You have inspired me to get my clothes all organized and see what the heck I need to get in the way of new clothes for the fall/winter. I am going to hit a couple of the consignment stores in town and hopefully a Value Village soon. I found an amazing coat the other day at Winners it fit me perfectly and was so cute, then I looked at the price tag  no way was I paying $150 for it. Darn!! Oh well its fun to try on clothes that I would have never fit into before. I got a new top the other day at Suzanne's and for the first time in forever I fit into a size small. Yay!!! I hope that your work load is not too heavy today! Yes the pizza was good and I did not miss the crust either LOL.

Jean - Glad you are having fun with Maya's fun template challenge! I really need to catch up on what is happening here at the O! I hope you have a nice relaxing day ahead of you and that you are busy with your scrapping and creating!!

Ok I should be getting a FaceTime call from DD telling me all about Mason's meet the teacher day. He doesn't really begin his first day of school until Friday, which seems strange to me, but I suppose they like the older kids to settle in a bit first. I think that one of Jonah's Auntie's is coming by to take Mason to the park or something and give Heather a bit of a break. So nice that she has the help sometimes! I wish we were living closer together so I could help out more  I wish you all a wonderful Wednesday!!

Quickly, Hi, all! :hello: We have to leave in a few for an appointment a 45 minute drive away. Sounds like Chris, eh?

Speaking of Chris, sigh, cars can be the pits. Expensive meds more so maybe? Trudy, can't believe your med expense story. What is wrong with the world of pharma?

Nancy, saw part of Venus's match and could have seen either of the coming through. Was sure rooting for Venus though. How super to have all these US women making it there.

Gotta go now, hope everyone has a good day.

And yes, I finished a LO with Maya's adorable template. Everyone has a different take and they are super. Can't believe she's now 25.

Good morning, ladies. Dropped Taz off at daycare and the traffic was insane. I was looking at the orange sun as I drove and the air is thick with smoky haze. I've got lemon EO in the diffuser to help purify the air in the house. Got lots of work coming in so looks a very busy day (what else is new). Tonight our guy is coming out to the house to set up our new iptv (got a new provider). Also, he may be able to show us a few things about using the android box as we're not very knowledgeable about it. I still have almost a full PVR so obviously am not watching enough TV LOL. I will have to delete some of it b/c by late Sept a lot of the new shows will start and my PVRing will greatly increase. There are just too many shows to watch LOL. We started watching Taken which we're enjoying and is only about 6 or 8 episodes long. I PVR'd the new AHS last night and am anxious to watch, probably this wkend.

Chris - crazy about the price of meds. The same thing here for Bailey. It's so expensive for all her diabetic meds and she's lucky right now to still be on her dad's coverage but that will end at some point in the near future.

Trudy - hope you find some great clothing deals like I have found. I'll send you some positive clothing vibes :) I had enjoyed the pizza toppings so much that now I want to create some kind of a pizza casserole.

Nancy - you never did say what series you were reading.

Jean - I don't think I've seen your page so will go have a look.

I'd better get to work and get off the computer. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
