The Loopy-O
CHEERY O
Hey there and happy mid-week! I promise I won't complain about how cold I am. I'll just make an offhand comment about how I won't say anything and you all can read into that what you will. Hahaha!!

The sun was out for just an hour yesterday and then it was pitch dark and poured for much of the morning and early afternoon. I didn't do any yard work nor much housework either. I wouldn't say that I rested, I think I'll put it into the "wasted day" column. Between the weather and fatigue, I couldn't get myself motivated. I put off going to the Dr's office until today. They have screwed up Rx refills since July and I really don't to deal with them. They are friendly but so incredibly disorganized. I have a food shopping order to pick up this morning so I will try to get my act together to run my errands in town. I also have to pick up meds from the vet so it is easier to make a big loop around. At least, that is what I am telling myself in encouragement. ha

I texted my friend and finally heard back. Her life is more chaotic than usual but I didn't do anything. Whew- nice to know that and that I wasn't fired. (I really didn't think that but it was hard to keep my imagination from running away) Since I had the time I made a big pot of spaghetti sauce (aka *gravy*). I haven't made that homemade in ages, not a big fan of tomato sauce on pasta. But the fam liked it so that was good. Cooking is one of the few things that I like about this weather. The house smelled good as it simmered most of the afternoon. As soon as we finish the desserts from the weekend, I will make an apple pie or some pumpkin crunch cake.

That is it from me and the puppies need to go outside so I am going to sign off--

Wishing all of you a wonderful day!

Now I'm confused. I thought gravy was a kinda brown sauce you have to steak or meat of any kind. Now it's a tomato sauce to eat with pasta????

I am LOVING this weather @faerywings ! We had rain last week, but since then the temps and humidity and sunshine have been WONDERFUL!!! We have only had to use the AC for a couple of hours in the late afternoons a couple of days. That is sure going to help the electric bill!

I made ketchup one time MANY years ago! It was such a pain to watch to keep from burning that I've never done it again. I have taken store-bought spaghetti sauce and added more veggies to it.....especially peppers and onions! I don't like spending very much time in the kitchen so I've been making lots of crockpot meals lately. Throw in the ingredients and let it cook all day!

Headed to my spend the day with my 2 BFF's. They are older than me by about 15+ years, but I love them dearly! We usually play Rummikub most of the day! They are both widows and I try to help them out by taxiing them around, etc. and spending time with them. They get lonely. I lived with one of them for almost a year after my DH died......until I got married again. But we still try to hang out one to 2 days a week. Both of them live within 8 miles from me, so they can call if they need me and it wouldn't take me too long to get there.

Praying you all have a wonderful day!

Just a quick pop in for yesterdays personals-
I meant to come back after I let the dogs out and then I had a bit of an incident : The "Thank Goodness for Small Favors" Thread. I had to get right into the shower then it was time to do my around the town stuff.

Eva- some Italians call spaghetti sauce "gravy" and some get quite territorial over which it is, sauce or gravy. My mom's family called it gravy when it was in the pot or in a gravy boat on the table-"pass the gravy." But it was called sauce if it was over pasta. Then again, it was never "pasta" - only macaroni. All pastas were macaroni.
Brown gravy is called Brown Gravy.
:D

Vicky -- have a wonderful day with your BFFs!

@taxed4ever How sweet to celebrate Damon's b-day. Is this the same boy who had his COVID b-day on the street last year? Bet that walk helped the cobwebs in your head. I am worried about the winter and not having my dirt therapy. Will your hiking group keep going if cases are good this winter?
The lists have been such a big help. In fact, I am ready to start putting more things on them every day.
Heads up with any of your shipping that uses the USPS- they are messing around still with the postal service and 1st calssmail is going from 1-2 day delivery to 4-5 days
Here is an article: https://news.yahoo.com/why-mail-delivery-may-slower-174845518.html?fr=yhssrp_catchall
So yeah... plan ahead... :(

@Cherylndesigns you know why you are healing quickly? You listened to me when I said to rest LOL!!!!!
I am happy for ya! That is fab news (*whispers... still doesn't mean that you should push yourself...*)
I am dreaming almost every night about going on vacation in some sense or another. Lat night was a camping trip with friends we used to camp with when the kids were younger.

Any tattoo updates for you and Ava?
It's that time of year when everyone has to stalk Gary's FB page LOL!:p Here is the video he put up today.
I need to see your pics too!

@tanteva Hugs, sweetheart... you got this. Hope you are able to decompress today and that tomorrow is an easy one. Sending you some virtual hot chocolate!

@nancyr The t-storms yesterday were so strong but thankfully they didn't last all day. Our dogs would have been very unhappy. :(
It seems like you are doing all of the best things to make yourself happy. Hope that the Devils goalie gets vax'd for the team's sake if not for himself. Any idea if you are getting season tickets?

xoxo

Chris.... I almost spit my coffee out when I watched Gary's Skeleton climb the ladder! ROFLOL What a hoot that is! Yes, he is very inventive. Can't wait to see more of his creations - especially since Halloween will be here soon. BTW... we all need those 'Wasted Days". . . . so relax and enjoy them when the mood hits. Glad your friend got in touch with you so you know all is okay between you both.

Had a laugh over your vision: "I have this image in my head of you rolling your shoulders and then cracking your neck to each side to get ready. hah" getting ready for DSD! No rolling of shoulder and especially not cracking the neck to each side as both are still very sore right now. Been heating my neck rest pad and using it several times a day. Even slept with it on a couple of night.

Eva, gravy can be brown, white (milk gravy), red (water with ham drippings), almost clear (water gravy) and many other colors depending on what type of liquid is added to it. I call any type that goes on pasta a sauce... and for Enchiladas a sauce.

We have been having rain showers off and on since yesterday... not a lot at any one time but the humidity is high and my body is really feeling it. Old "Auther" is hitting the feet, back, hands and neck! We need the rain so not complaining about it (very much!!!). When I changed the sheets yesterday, I put a blanket on the bed under the comforter. Got down to 49* last night and suppose to go even lower tonight. No more ceiling fan running at night. Which reminds me - I need to change out the heater/AC filter before I switch from A/C to heat. Not ready to turn the heat on but haven't had the A/C on the past several days.

Doing a happy dance... I finally finished putting the VHS Tapes Inventory on the computer and printed it out. One of these days, I will start on the Book Inventory. It is huge and will take a long time to do... and verify that it is correct. I have given away a lot of books but also acquired a lot of them.... Think that is a good project when the winter weather is here. Glad I am doing the inventories on the old laptop as there is enough space on it. Hmmmm... wonder if I have a copy of the book inventory on one of my old ExHD??? That would save me some time if I could find it. Guess that will be a project when I don't have anything to do one day.... hahahaha... And, yes, I think I have all of my old ExHDs somewhere in my craft room.

Off to get dressed and figure out what the bod will let me do today. If it is a 'do nothing' day, I will lay back and enjoy it.

Okay - stop the gravy and pasta talk. BWAHAHA You're all making me hungry.

Chris @faerywings that video is hysterical! I cracked up at him climbing that ladder. My skeleton arrives tomorrow or Friday - depending on the carriers. I hope tomorrow. I still don't have the plastic off my straw bales - we got them at Walmart and they were wrapped. Chuck hung the scarecrow on the porch post and it looks SO cute. I haven't taken a picture yet. Here are some temporary pics that I took yesterday while I was sitting on the porch icing my shoulder, These are "before pics".

good evening - Yea I am watching Devils hockey. They are in DC playing the Capitals. The Devils scored first. Yea! The weather today is gorgeous. But too cold for me I like the 80s. But Luther likes this weather so I got him out for an afternoon walk. It is nice to have a partner to walk with. I have finished my Month Review pages. I try to keep them down to just two pages but I had 3 pages for Aug. I am just proud that I am up today on these pages. Tomorrow the last day of Sept so I can start on those pages. Still reading. I did watch an old Clint Eastwood movie "the Eiger Sanction". As soon as it started I recognized exactly where is was filmed - Monument Valley, AZ and Zion National Park. I am sure I have hiked some of the spots where they did the filming. The movie is old - 1975. Clint Eastwood was a good looking man! Still reading and enjoying that.

@faerywings Chris I had season tickets for the hockey season that was canceled so I did not have to buy any this season as those carried over. My unvaccinated goalie spoke to the press and then I read the comments. People are either for him as its his choice or saying he should take the vaccine. They question how much of a distraction it is for his teammates as he cannot be with the team and always 6 ft apart and with a mask. But one question is never asked that I think should be a major consideration is what about the fans in the stands. Think about all the kids who come to the games that cannot get vaccinated. I have not problem if he does not want it but don't endanger the rest of us (sorry about rant). The weather was the pits yesterday. Hope you got errands done!

Kay congrats on getting the VHS tapes cataloged. That is quite an accomplishment. Enjoy the weather.

@tanteva Eva I feel you pain when it comes to gravy vs sauce. I had never heard of pasta sauce as gravy until I came to NJ. I still find it strange. LOL

@vickyday Vicky that is so nice to spend the day with your BFFs. I am glad I am not using AC now but darn I don't want to turn on the heat. I am already using my space heater. Sad!

@Cherylndesigns Cheryl I love your Halloween decorations.

Chris! I had to laugh at the video! That is me trying to get up the first step to our deck! It is a higher-than-normal step and I literally have to HOIST myself up! :D

Nancy, I dread having to turn on the heat, too! But, I'd rather have to turn on the heat than the AC. It's also easier to add more layers than, well, you know.......you can only take off so many layers, LOL!

@tanteva Eva I feel you pain when it comes to gravy vs sauce. I had never heard of pasta sauce as gravy until I came to NJ. I still find it strange. LOL

I'm gonna take that as everyone from NJ is strange. ;) Since we're watching The Sopranos right now, I'm sure I know all about life in NJ. It's a documentary, right? Everyone's like Tony Soprano's mother. LOL

Sitting here with my morning coffee, and in a couple of hours I'm off for work. Mårten seems to be fine, and I hope he still will be when we get home tonight. First day without medicine, so I'm a bit nervous. Guess work will be ok, cuz the coworker apparently called in sick yesterday. I'm pretty sure she's gonna blame me, even though I'm not the one who told the boss about what she said. I'm no rat (Learned that from Sopranos as well, LOL)

I really should have followed my childhood dream and became an author. I wouldn't have had to deal with other people then. I would have done a Thoreau and moved to Walden. LOL

I have a ton of stuff I need to do before I head to the bus, so ... TTYL darlings!
