Happy Wednesday everyone!
Thank you all so much for the b-day wishes for Caitlyn. It really didn't feel like her birthday yesterday, everything was so hectic. But at least we had Monday and the family gathering is all set for Saturday.

Good news from the Lyme dr- Scott is showing some improvement, and over the next several months we will be weaning him off some of the antibiotics, putting him on a new antibiotic and maybe this time next year- he'll be off them all!

I am starting a new abx myself today, and I am nervous, since if it is working, it means I will be feeling pretty sick the next few days. Its a good thing, but not something I want to go through.

I am going to post this and then be back for quickie personals!

WWW:
I want Scott to be feeling great soon!
I wish my new med would work and make me feel better instantly.
I want to get out in the yard today but I don't think I am going to have time

Hi Laurie! The drive wasn't that peaceful- so much traffic and then a super long detour. We were almost a half hour late. Ugh.
How was your busy day?

Hugs Linda W!

Hi Vicki- good for you for getting stuff done!

trudy- that is awesome news!!!! Congrats!!!

Petra- the penne is from Pioneer woman, it is pasta with a sauce of pureed tomatoes, onion, garlic, heavy cream, parmesan cheese and vodka. Not for the diet conscious for sure!
Your dinner sounds yummy too! I wonder if you could substitute broccoli rabe and Italian sausage?

Sally- you have been so busy (as always) but doing so much cool stuff! I am so sorry to hear that YMG is going to be gone more :(

Petra- neat "house!"

Merkee, I am sorry for you and your dad's loss. That is a great motto.

Krista- hey babe!!! Crazy day for you too... what is it with siblings fighting? :jedi:

Ok, gotta run...

xoxoxoxoxoo!

Good morning ladies!! :tea: is hot come and get it!! :)

Chris ... I'm glad to hear that your appointment went well darling .... :pray:ing for you all!! Hope today offers you a little ME time!!! LOL am I starting to sound like a broken record yet?? ;)

Ohhhhh what a storm we had last night!!! :faint: I was peacefully chatting and scrapping with Sally and Clara (Sara had already gone to bed), it was about 1:15am ... yeah I know up too late again, when all of the sudden it was insanely windy outside, literally, out of no where, within the next 2-3 minutes the power was out,:scared:, there was thunder, lightening and a short splash of rain, and then it was calm again, weirdest thing ever. I managed to finish my layout, by candlelight, yes yes yes I know addiction, and went to get. The power was likely out for about an hour and a half. Weirdest thing ever!!

Today, much the same as yesterday :)
Have a great day ladies!!! Happy Hump day!!

So who is watching what on the new tv series??? So far I watched two NEW shows....Hawaii Five-O and The Event......jury is still out on both...
BUT....as always....LOVED NCIS last night!!!!!!

So the first day of FALL is tomorrow....it's going to be 92 degrees!!!!! Fall weather is finally going to hit around Sunday here...74 degrees!! This is crazy....still wearing shorts, tanks and flops (of course the flops will stay on until it hits FREEZING)

Now my day yesterday.......I have been having a REALLY REALLY bad day since the afternoon before....had a really bad discovery and I am not yet over it!! It has had my mind all messed up and not thinking or conducting daily business very well.....caused me to be in a hurry and I missed Cameran's bus yesterday.....had to chase the bus up the mountain...looked all over, driving down little windy curvy roads, and then turned the wrong way when I was headed back to meet at the place the school said I could wait for it.....(he would have been on the bus for and hour and 15 minutes that's why I went looking for it)....well the wrong turn helped me find the bus, but I kept going that way..not realizing...and drove 9 miles before I did realize....so we rode for almost and hour....UUUGGGHHHH!!! This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO not me!!!! I figured my brain must really be in the toilet!!! NO FLUSHING....PLEASE!!!!!! Then I burnt dinner last night (haven't done that in 10 years at least)....gotta get a grip today!!!

Okay....better run....will be back soon.

Chris.....I hope everything works out good for Scott sweetie!!! I JUST KNOW IT WILL...and you too.....I am thinking about you!!!

Krista....WOW....you really wanted to finish that page!!!! HOpe the storms calm for you sweetie!!! and those sibling fights....my grandma always said if there is more than one...they will fight!!!

Merkee....So sorry about your uncle!! (((HUGS))) and hope you and your Dad are doing okay!! Your uncle did have a great motto!! RAISE A GLASS TO HIM!!

Petra...YAY...so glad you came on over!!! and LOVE THE HOUSE!!!!!

Sally....busiest lady I know!!!! Can you bottle some of that "umph" and sell it on your Etsy store...I WOULD BUY IT ALL!!! Wishing your MG was did not have to be gone sweetie and sorry about the extra trip added to his schedule! ((HUGS))

Trudy....how awesome about the new job offer and as for the old one..gotta do what ya gotta do!!! CONGRATS!!!

Vicki...so did you get all that washing and work done???

Laurie....THE OTHER busiest lady I know!!!

Okay...so this afternoon I am going to try to go blog hopping and see what you all have been blogging about...I need to start back with mine too!!! Maybe this weekend!!

LOVE TO YOU ALL!!!

 Morning all! Not much news from me as I am half awake and still half way through my first cup of joe :tea:
@ Chris: I am sure you can substitute it - we also make carrot/onion mash the same way and endive mash :)
I hope you will find the time to get out in the yard today like you want to.

@ Linda: I wish the winter would stay away this year. Nothing I hate more than driving in that stuff.

@ Krista: where do you live (state) that you had such bad weather? Maybe it was a mini-tornado kind of thing?

I'm sure I will be back here today to see what else is being said so I won't say bye but will wish you all a wonderful day!

Morning ladies  I am starting my new job today Yay!!! I am going to be a cashier at the local Home Hardware Store and it is Part Time, should be mostly 4hr. shifts perhaps 3 to 4 days a week. Perfect for me!!! I am so releived to be done with the Safeway, they were nice but the staff come and go so much from there and I don't think I would have had very many nice shifts. Anyway I am a Happy Camper!!
Chris - I hope your new meds work wonders for you, and so glad that your son is doing better also!
Nana Linda -  to you I hope that you have a better day today!!
Krista - I hope that there was no damage from your storm last night, will have to wait until I get home today to find out if Mitchell, Ont. was also hit with it.
Petra - Love your moving home!! Great photo!
Have an awesome day everyone. I will pop in later to catch up.

Chris, ever since I started making Pioneer Woman recipes I've had to add "heavy cream" and "butter" to my shopping list as a pantry staple.

Have you tried her Spaghetti with Artichoke Hearts & Tomatoes? It is my favorite recipe! And it's become a "go to" because it's so quick to make. I keep all the ingredients stocked at all times.

Petra .... I like in Ontario Canada ;)
I think ti was just a storm .... but it kinda came out of nowhere!!:)

 Thank you Trudy!

And the pioneer website sounds like she may be best friends with Paula Deen! Did any of you see this new recipe where they deep fry butter? I felt my arteries clog up just watching it!

Oh neat Krista! I was in Ontario once delivering a load in Peterborough. Long time ago! :)

Guys, I'm on a sewing streak!! totally psyched about it... but first, a confession...

So I was put on antibiotics for my cystic acne, which my GP said was like a staph infection throughout my whole system. And these antibiotics are super duper strong, double strength. As soon as I started taking them last Sat, my mouth instantly started breaking out and feeling like it was covered in a thick film. By Monday, I felt sooooo sick, like flu sick. I called Mr Gorgeous...he thought it was our flu shot and TDAP that we just got (tetanus, diptheria, pertussis). I was pretty sure it was the antibiotics. You can ask Krista, i was not doing well Monday night. Yesterday I thought about you, Chris....and the whole idea of herxing...and I figured out that's what I was doing. But to be honest, it isn't worth it to me. ...here's the confession part...and you can try to talk to me about it, but my mind is made up...I stopped taking them. I didn't take any on Monday because I couldn't eat enough to keep my stomach from getting sick from them. I thought I would take one on Tuesday, but my mouth hurt too badly. SO truth is, I'm a wimp. I'd rather have the infection than the cure. When I went to the dr Fri about it, i was really hoping for a different solution - nutrition, topical, something else, but I guess this is just a situation that someday I'll be able to herx my way through when my life isn't on such a fast track!!

So Chris, I bow down to you and am praying for you, too as you are going through this time with your meds. All I can say is, I've been there ... almost! LOL!!!

Krista, sooooo glad you are okay...and that you posted about your storm last night on FB so I knew you didn't just ditch me!! bwahahahahhah...like you'd ever do that!! :)

Nana!!!! hugs, hugs, and more hugs!!! I wish I could just take the pain away and restore things to the way they were, hun!!! sooo sorry!!! Praying for you, too, babe!! and i agree with Krista, give yourself a break!! we love ya!!

Petra, ohhh isn't coffee the best???? I LOVE my cuppa JOE!! :) have a great day, hun!!

Trudy!! yay for your new job!!! so excited for your hours...so you can scrap more!! teehee!! hugs!!!

Peppermint, I've decided Ree needs to be on the cover of Time Magazine as the most influential woman of this decade!! LOL!!! I love her Herb Roasted Chicken which is really her friend, "Pastor Ryan"'s recipe!! LOL!! Enjoy cooking!! :)

Okay...gotta go back to sewing! I'm loving it here in the sewing factory!! (we're learning about the industrial revolution here, so everything is a factory this week!! teehee!!)

love you all dearly!!

Oh man, now I want chicken.

I'm way too lazy to cook a whole chicken, though. I've done it a few times, but I can buy a rotisserie chicken at the store for $4.99 so I always do that. ROFL

So far PW hasn't let me down, except I made her Penne a la Betsy the other night and wasn't impressed. BUT, I made it with whole wheat noodles which sort of alters the entire feel of the dish - so I'm willing to blame it on myself. If I'd used regular noodles it probably would have been great.

Is it possible that you got Thrush from the antibiotics? I do not get along with antiBs, the minute one enters my system all sorts of hell breaks loose.

Well I've been out of the Ooo's for awhile now so thought I'd pop in today. Let's see what's new... Umm.. Actually been getting busier with work, (though slacking on updating that blog!), and getting more feedback & inquiries for photo sessions. So that part is going great. I have a wedding to photograph this Saturday too and a senior Sunday & a 10yrOld on Monday, lol.. It's small town, so have to love the variety.

Anywho.. My twin cousins turned 11 last Thursday so I went to get them this past Friday. Took them to their homecoming parade since they are cheerleaders now, so I got to watch that. Then we went shopping that night so I could get them birthday stuffs... Saturday we made homemade pizzas, took hundreds of photos, went bowling, cleaned the house, & Savanna helped me do all the laundry. Sunday was spent playing their new DSs and making cookies. Then I took them home & their mom & older sister were going to go out to walmart, so we tagged along too & I got home at Midnight, lol.

It was a much needed weekend, though I was away from my computer the majority of the time. I still haven't gotten to look at those pictures yet since I've been working on client photos & work instead, but hopefully tonight or tomorrow I can play.

I have new pictures in my windows at my studio as of yesterday & already getting comments from passerbys, lol.. Love that! Still need to clean here & get more photos up on the walls, but it's starting to really come together.

I haven't been around as much as normal just because I haven't felt to motivated. I've been letting everything get to me and just feeling blah lately, but this past weekend helped & I just have to get it together. The Nanas here at the O helped too with their support, so thanks girlies! (I guess they are stooge nanas with bad hair now, ha!)

Oh & in just a couple weeks I get to head to NY to visit my friends! Haven't seen them since the end of May, so really really looking forward to that. 10 days of fun away from home & work & everything, lol. And maybe if time allows I'll get to meet the lovely Sue Cummings while I'm up that way!

Let's see... Random other news, the new TV season has started with House & Glee this week ;-) Woots! Umm.....My grandma & I had been watching my seasons of Lost everyday after I get off work. We are through 1-3, but we had to take a break since she's visiting some family in Alaska as of last Thursday-this coming Sunday. I hear she's already got to see lots of whales & is hiking & stuff...Hoping I get to go in Feb. Anyway, the Lost has been fun since I get to spend more time with her & have dinner with her, (though I think this is part of why I'm getting behind on things, lol).

Okay.. I think I wrote way too much nonsense.

Happy Wednesday.

Sally, Sally! Don't give up...... ITA w/ peppermint. You probably have Thrush/yeast. i can tell that when I an not watching the low carb (lower carb maybe??) diet and/or I forget to take my acidophilous my tongue does get really tender, and it feels like I have tiny cuts all over.

I totally get why you want to give up. This new med I am on- i can't even drink a bit- no alcohol at all. I am one for 2 weeks out of the month. So no wine for me! :(

You have to take a ton of acidodphilous (sorry, I cannot spell it!) with abx. Your dr can also prescribe diflucan and/or nystatin to counteract the abx.
A low carb diet ( I know, I can't do it either!) is also better for you b/c the yeast loves sugar. I can get into more detail if you want LOL

My chicken is smelling so yummy. I was going to do the PW Herb roasted chicken but I have a vet appt this afternoon and I didn't think I would be back in time, so I am combining that one with a Crock pot rotisserie recipe. Tomorrow while I am work, I am going to thrwo the bones back into the CP and make some stock.

I have to try that! There was another recipe I saw yesterday and I didn't bkmark it. Pasta and some sort of veggie... I know- that is really helpful....

Thanks for the encouragement...and yep, Peppermint and Chris, i'm pretty sure it was thrush...I told Mr Gorgeous on Sunday that I cannot stand thrush in my mouth. When you only live so long, you want every bite to taste wonderful! :)

But even worse is that I don't have the time to be down...kwim? i don't know how you do it, Chris! It wiped me out so badly Monday that I missed an Etsy street team meeting, and then last night I would've missed a music rehearsal, and on and on...you know me and how I go 90 to nothin'!! :) But there will be a time where I can take two weeks to stop and just collapse and get rid of this stuff. For now, the cure is much worse than living with bad thingies (for lack of wanting to gross you guys out! LOL!!) all over me! :)

btw, Peppermint, I bought a raw whole chicken for $3.48 the other day. But I guess the lemons did cost, too...I had everything else. I love the idea of the whole chicken in the crockpot!! I'm going to have to do that, too!! I am loving this thread!! (sorry for making you hungry, Nana!! LOL!!)

and just have to confess one more thing...we're going out for mexican food tonight!! LOL!!!

To hook in on the yeast thing: it just amazes me with the amount of people that are having food related problems that the government approves so many things such as the genetically engineered salmon and many other genetically engineered foods.
A friend of ours had I don't know how many times the healthy amount of yeast in his body. They diagnosed him as being chronic fatigued. He was feeling miserable for years until someone told him to go see a food nutritionist. He cut sugar out of his diet, no sodas, juice etc. and he is fine now! He is back to work which he wasn't able to do for years.
I think a lot of people have no clue how important food really is and how it can impact your body and your life! It's huge!
I hope that you ladies can get all your problems under control.

I so agree with you Petra!! I went on the GI diet and have never felt so good in my life!! so much more energy, no more heartburn (something I have suffered with for years!!!) Sleeping better and of course taking off a few extra pounds is a bonus!! What we put in our bodies is so very important. We are what we eat!!
