This was the second morning this week that my alarm was set but didn't go off. Thank goodness my ear is trained for the coffee pot beeps when it is done brewing. I heard it beeping, and woke up thinking it was my alarm, but it wasn't. So strange. I go through these periods of all of my tech going wonky, and this seems to be another one -- yesterday my phone had issues, ipod issues the day before. #firstworldproblems, for sure.

My kitchen is clean again! woo hooooo! Cabinets are dusted, appliances wiped down, floor is mopped. Of course, my kitchen is teeny tiny so I shouldn't be all that excited by it, but hey, it is the little things, yannow? :D
I also made an announcement to put on my fridge asking for help. I made it a Public Service Announcement: Don't Be a Grandma, complete with the word Grandma in a red circle with the line through it. This is in reference to my mom never taking advice. I typed at the bottom "This PSA brought to you by the Anti-Martyrdom Council." heheh!
The family saw it and had to read the whole thing, which was my goal. t made them laugh and talk about, so it also will get stuck a bit more in their heads. (hopefully).

Today I have to figure out what to do about my Forever IV. I haven't done it since last week and my BP is more stable than it had been. I am still having issues with it, but it is much less. If I don't do it today, than I won't be able to do it until Friday. But I don't want to do it today b/c I have plans to meet my friends for coffee at my BFFATS's house. Maybe I will just roll myself across the street and have someone help me up the stairs. I guess I will have to see how I do food shopping.

I was going to do just a QOTD but ...
Today is National Chocolate Day! Just what you’ve been waiting for – a reason to eat more chocolate! Americans consume an average of 12 pounds per person per year. Do you help contribute to this staggering stat?
Valentine’s Day and Easter are two of the top holidays for buying chocolate, but you can’t forget about Christmas or Halloween! However, many will argue that chocolate is best enjoyed year-round.
To celebrate National Chocolate Day, enjoy some chocolate with each meal today! Try hot chocolate or chocolate donuts for breakfast. A fun lunch idea is to pair your favorite dish with a tall glass of chocolate milk. For dinner, try a traditional mole sauce, made with cocoa powder. Top it all off with a decadent chocolate dessert!
Give a friend a box of chocolates, try a new recipe using chocolate, or treat yourself to some!

So here is the follow up QOTD: Do you like/love chocolate? What kind-- milk, white, dark? Favorite candy or cake?
Dish it out, I want to drool a bit! :hungry:

I like dark chocolate, but will happily eat anything choc.

Have a fab day!!

Nancy- I heard that the moon was nice, but unfortunately the full moon seems to make us Lymies flare up. It is very odd. I have eaten at Panda Express in the malls way back when. And yes, a lot of food, easy to share a plate with someone and still be happy and full.
My IL's say the same thing about dogs, as much as they like visiting their grand-dogs (SIL/BIL also have 2), they don't want that responsibility at this point in their lives.
Was Rex ecstatic see his Mommy!!?? Bet you are happy to see your DS home again too.

Trudy- Hope that you slept better last night, those nights are such a drag. Did you do OK at the pool? I hope that you didn't push yourself too much either. I am so happy for you that you are getting your calendar pages done. Still nothing from MIL for me... I might just grab one of their pics from FB and make a single page printed up. I can't see how I will be able to get a 20 page book scrapped in one month.
I like them and think they are great, but as long as they belong to someone else
haha! My mom is the *same* way, loves my dogs b/c they are mine, but not really thrilled with them as a species.
Yes... Nancy-- what are you reading? I am in a big slump on books. I haven't read anything that has been really gripping in a long time.

Claire- congrats on the GSO!!!!!! Hope that you are having a great day and that the noise dies down soon for you.

good morning - my poor Devils played a sluggish game and when they had their chances they could not score while the Blue Jackets did score and so my team lost. It was hockey fights cancer night and I got a mystery puck signed by Stefan Matteau so that made me happy, also got a hat. My son went home sick but did not tell me in time so I had to sit by myself because he did not give me time to find some one but I have met the nicest people in my section and because the arena was so empty I just moved down by them and so that was really fun! Got in a good walk with Rex and then my son came home. He seems really happy with the vacation even though Monday was the only day they could get out as it rained so much. But he said they enjoyed the Texas steakhouses and the Mexican restaurants. And Rex was so happy to see him but I think he thought that Ashley would be there too and now this morning Rex is sitting by the door looking for someone to come home. It is going to rain so I hope I can get Rex out before the rain comes.

Chris QOTD I love chocolate and at my hockey games I love a good hot chocolate to keep me warm. I love hersey kisses but Reese's peanut butter cups are my favorite. Congrats on your clean kitchen. It is always fun to have it clean I also hope it stays that way for a while.

Trudy making calendars is such fun but it does require time. I have to start mine and my Christmas card too. Hope the swim went well.

Claire congrats on the GSO! I remember as a kid growing up in an area where homes were being built. Of course as a kid the noise did not bother as I was in school but my mother must not have been bothered.

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies... it is pouring :rain: this morning. I had my usual sleep of waking up a few times and tossing and turning, but slept in until 8am so I feel rested this morning. Swimming went well, better than I thought it took a while to get into the rhythm but I managed to swim 31 laps before I called it quits, I was tired in the afternoon though. I did manage to get a page done for a challenge next month so that was good. Working on the calendars again today, but need to get to the store quickly for a few things also. Better grab my umbrella before I head out, it looks like it will rain most of the day.

Chris - QOTD - LOVE  chocolate!! All kinds of chocolate especially milk chocolate, but sadly I cannot eat much of it anymore, my stomach rebels and I usually end up with terrible heartburn from it. :hurt: its not fair!!
So nice to have a nice clean and tidy kitchen! Mine usually stays clean, DH is a clean freak and always helps out with the dishes, he says I cooked the meal so the least he can do is the dishes. I don't argue :becky: Hope you manage to get out for your coffee! I am sure they will give you a hand with your IV pole on the stairs, don't let that darn thing stop you from having a good time! The announcement on your fridge is a hoot and hope that everyone pays close attention to it when you are looking for some help!! Call me and Phyllis if they don't we will go to bat for you!! :boxing: LOL

Nancy - Too bad you had to go to the game by yourself, but nice that you have made some good friends at the rink! Why did Ashley not come back with your son?? Did I miss something? I bet poor Rex can't figure out what the heck is going on! LOL Hope you can get out for your walk today! I haven't even begun to think about Christmas Cards this year, I might not send any except for the ones we do here. The cost of postage is just too high!!

Claire - Congrats on the GSO!! Isn't it nice when your art is recognized !! You worked hard on that layout and it paid off! Hope that you can escape the noise of the construction around you, it can be very hard on the nerves!!

Alright, I need more coffee then hoping to hear from DD and Mason today, have a great humpday everyone!!

Just a quick stop for me. Want to share the "drawing" I started on Sunday.
J-doodle-63_Wicked_matted.jpg

You can read more, see a larger image and the photo of leaves I mentioned on my blog: http://scrap-genie.blogspot.com/2015/10/drawing-63-wicked.html.

CHOCOLATE! I adore it, especially very dark and I have a favorite that includes a little red chile heat.

Claire, the GSO on that lovely spooky page is well deserved.

DH has things for us to do, so have to run, sorry!
